Abstract

The supporting program for the KKN PPM activities of Wiralodra University in Kopyah Village, Anjatan District, Indramayu Regency, was implemented at UPTD SDN 2 Kopyah. UPTD SDN 2 Kopyah is a state-owned education institution and operates at the elementary school level. The total number of students is 271 students, divided into 6 classes, with an average of 40 students per class. The number of students in each class has met the class management standards. Based on initial observations made by the author to the principal of UPTD SDN 2 Kopyah, students are still not familiar with CBP Rupiah but are already familiar with and implementing a savings system. This is due to several factors, including the elementary school curriculum often does not explicitly cover topics related to CBP Rupiah, so students do not receive formal learning about this; elementary schools focus more on core subjects; and the lack of socialization programs aimed at elementary school children regarding the importance of CBP Rupiah. In contrast to the savings education implemented at UPTD SDN 2 Kopyah, students already know about the theory given, but in practice students still do not fully understand the benefits and objectives of saving properly. Therefore, the author has an initiative to provide a solution to this problem, namely by providing simple education and implementation about CBP Rupiah and saving for elementary school students. This aims to increase basic knowledge and understanding of finance for students, including the importance of knowing and using the national currency. Educating elementary school students about CBP Rupiah and saving has important benefits and objectives for their development. The benefits include introducing the value of money, basic financial skills, financial independence, character education, and preventing consumerism. Through this education, students learn to recognize and understand the value of money, so that they can be wiser in using it. They get the basics of financial skills such as saving, budgeting, and understanding the concept of spending. This helps them become more financially independent from an early age, which is important for their future. The delivery method that the author will use is by face to face interaction directly with students in class, there is a PPT and educational video delivery about CBP Rupiah and saving, providing media for them to save money and some bills as a practice media to get to know CBP Rupiah. The output target of the "Love Proudly Understand (CBP) Rupiah and Saving" program in elementary schools is expected to be able to create a younger generation that is more financially literate and ready to face economic challenges in the future. One of the main targets is to increase students' understanding of the value of money and the importance of saving, which is shown by their ability to manage pocket money wisely and make a simple budget for daily needs. In addition, students are also expected to be able to demonstrate discipline and responsibility in saving, by setting short-term and long-term financial goals and trying to achieve them. This program also aims to instill an attitude of love and pride for the rupiah currency, which can be seen from the attitude of respecting and maintaining money and understanding its important role in the economy. By achieving these targets, it is hoped that students will not only have good knowledge of finance, but also develop positive characters and practical skills that will be useful throughout their lives.

Abstract

Saving is better taught to children as early as possible even though a family has an excess economic condition. It is better if the science of saving must still be taught to children. Providing education and understanding about the concept of saving must be started and made a habit at an early age because at that moment children are easier to absorb information and have a high curiosity. The moment of financial problems is an opportunity that can be taught to children and adolescents to learn about personal finance and to improve their own financial management skills. The level of awareness, understanding and thinking of children about the importance of living frugally and saving should be known from an early age. This aims to prepare children's understanding to be disciplined in setting aside the money they have and wisely in using the amount of savings someday. The habit of liking to save will have a positive impact on children to appreciate a gift more. The habit of saving can also teach children to live independently. The activity of saving or saving part of the income that is used to meet important and sudden needs for the future. There are many ways to save, for example setting aside pocket money to be saved, limiting snacks so that pocket money can be saved, buying necessary necessities, and so on. However, saving behavior is difficult to implement if it is not taught from an early age so that later when adults it is easy to apply it in everyday life. Saving is an action recommended by Islam, because by saving means a Muslim prepares himself for the implementation of future planning as well as to face unwanted things.
