Abstract

This study aims to examine the benefits of integrating character building into physics teaching and learning strategies. It adopts a descriptive qualitative approach, using survey research methods through both a literature review and field observations. The literature review was carried out by consulting books and reputable online sources. The field study involved observing the significance of character building in the teaching and learning methods of fifth-semester physics students during the 2025/2026 academic year, with a group of four students. Key aspects of character building identified in the study included honesty, discipline, self-confidence, empathy, creativity, teamwork, and responsibility. The process of character development can be more effective when supported by moral education in various subjects, helping to nurture better character in students. One way this is reflected in physics lessons is by providing students with opportunities to apply character-building principles in their daily lives. The findings revealed that students experienced positive outcomes from the integration of character building into the physics teaching and learning strategies.

Abstract

This research effort is through the development of LKS (Student Worksheet) guided inquiry model, the process of the emergence of this LKS is starting from the problem in the field of the use of LKS that are not in accordance with the analysis of student needs, not in accordance with the school environment, the LKS presented is instant from the publisher. The solution for LKS like this is the development of LKS based on the guided inquiry model that guides students to the problem, the problem is analyzed, and solutions are sought to solve it. This research method uses Development, the development used according to Thiagarajan's opinion (Trianto 2009) the stages are defining (define), designing (design), developing (development), and disseminating (disseminate). The Definition stage is carried out in the form of curriculum analysis, material analysis, Student Character. At this stage, the adjustment of Student competencies to their needs for material and environment. The design phase focuses on creating tests based on the criteria of the guided inquiry model. The constructed criteria-referenced tests become worksheet instruments. These tests are validated by a validator until they are valid. The worksheets then contain the validated tests. Worksheets that contain valid tests and align with the steps of the guided inquiry model are validated by validators and practitioners. The development phase is when the worksheets have received valid scores from validators and practitioners related to the worksheets containing the tests. The final phase, dissemination, involves testing the worksheets in samples or other classes.

Abstract

Physical environment plays a strategic role in supporting sustainable development. Increasingenvironmental damage, such as climate change, pollution, and exploitation of natural resources, shows that development that does not consider environmental aspects will have a serious impact on human life. Therefore, Physical environment is an important instrument for shaping public awareness, knowledge, attitudes, and behavior to be more responsible towards the environment. This study aims to examine the concept of Physical environment and its relationship with sustainable development through a literature review approach. Data were obtained from various sources, including books, national and international scientific journals, and official documents from relevant institutions. The results of the study show that Physical environment plays a role in instilling values of sustainability, increasing environmental literacy, and encouraging community participation in maintaining a balance between social, economic, and environmental factors. Therefore, a key step towards achieving sustainable development is to integrate Physical environmentinto formal and informal physics institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the group investigation learning model in improving students' cognitive learning outcomes in Physics at SMA Negeri 1 Kotapinang. This study uses a Classroom Action Approach with mixed methods. A quantitative approach is used to measure the improvement in students' cognitive learning outcomes using value data processed with SPSS 26 (including validity, reliability, difficulty, and question discrimination tests). Meanwhile, a qualitative approach is used to analyze teacher and student activities during learning through direct observation and interviews. The value of students' cognitive abilities before the study only reached 30% of the total. Then after the implementation of cycle 1 meeting 1 the percentage of completion increased to 42%. Continued at meeting II to 64%. Because it has not reached the success indicator, it is continued to cycle 2 where in meeting I the percentage of completion increased to 69% and continued to meeting II with a percentage of completion of 80%. Because it has reached the success indicator, the cycle can be ended. In conclusion, this study has succeeded in improving physics cognitive abilities in the parabolic motion material at SMA Negeri 1 Kotapinang.

Abstract

The ability to design research proposals is an important academic competency for Physics Education students because it reflects their ability to transform learning problems into scientific research designs. This study aims to analyze the ability of sixth-semester students in the Physics Education Program to design physics education research proposals for the 2025/2026 academic year. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with four students selected through purposive sampling as participants. Data were collected through the analysis of draft proposal documents, semi-structured interviews, and observations of the academic consultation process. Data analysis utilized the interactive model by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, which includes data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the students’ abilities generally fall into the “adequate” category. Students were relatively capable of determining themes and titles relevant to physics learning but still experienced difficulties in identifying research gaps, formulating novelty, synthesizing theory, selecting research designs, developing instruments, and determining data analysis techniques. These findings underscore the need to strengthen the research methodology course through mini-research projects, journal reviews, proposal clinics, and guidance on instrument development.

Abstract

This research stems from the fact that learning has not yet been able to accommodate theory with real-life facts. Nowadays, students focus on AI media that instantly provide answers. AI media cannot be fully relied upon because it cannot distinguish between opinion and fact. Newton's theory is a concept closely tied to nature and everyday activities, so there needs to be a solution for this material. The PhBL model is a learning model connected to daily life and is very suitable to be applied. The research method used is Mixed Method with a content analysis approach. The sample in this research is third-semester students taking the Mechanics course. The connection between the PhBL model and Newton's theory is very close and directly related to real-life facts. The PhBL model syntax involves 6 steps: phenomenon orientation, formulating questions, organizing in learning, investigation, analysis and synthesis, and presenting results. These 6 steps are integrated into Newton's theory to become a complete concept. Students are interested in learning Newton's Theory with the PhBL model.
