Abstract

The background of this study focuses on the challenges faced by Islamic boarding schools in West Java, where there are around 1,300 Islamic boarding schools with more than 100,000 students who need sufficient financial resources to support their educational activities and economic development. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the One Pesantren One Product (OPOP) Program in empowering the economy of Islamic boarding schools in the region. The research method used is literature analysis with a qualitative approach, where data is collected from 15 relevant publications published between 2015 and 2023. The data analysis techniques applied include categorizing themes and mapping research results related to the implementation of OPOP. The results of the study indicate that the OPOP program has succeeded in increasing the economic capacity of 60% of Islamic boarding schools through the development of superior products produced by students. In addition, 75% of Islamic boarding schools involved in this program reported a significant increase in income, and 80% of students felt more motivated to learn and become entrepreneurs. The conclusion of this study confirms that the OPOP initiative not only strengthens the economy of Islamic boarding schools, but also improves the quality of education and entrepreneurial skills of students. This study provides recommendations for strengthening policies and ongoing support for the OPOP program so that Islamic boarding schools can be more financially independent and contribute to local economic development.

Abstract

This study explores the fundamental differences between the Islamic economy, socialist economy, and capitalist economy, focusing on their theoretical foundations, conceptual frameworks, and methodological approaches. The research is motivated by the need to understand how these economic systems respond to global economic challenges and their implications on social equity and resource distribution. The study employs a qualitative research design, analyzing data through comparative analysis of relevant literature, historical documents, and expert interviews. Data collection techniques include document analysis and semi-structured interviews with economists and scholars specialized in these fields. The findings reveal that the Islamic economy emphasizes ethical investment and social justice, guided by Sharia principles, while the socialist economy prioritizes collective ownership and egalitarian distribution of wealth. In contrast, the capitalist economy is driven by market forces and individual profit maximization, often leading to significant social and economic inequalities. The research concludes that each system has unique strengths and weaknesses, contributing differently to economic stability and social welfare. Key findings include the Islamic economy's focus on moral values, the socialist economy's emphasis on social equality, and the capitalist economy's innovation and efficiency. The study contributes to the existing literature by providing a nuanced understanding of these economic systems and offering insights into their potential synergies.

Abstract

Sustainable development and the blue-green economy are intimately linked and collaborate. Like other nations, Indonesia follows Blue-Green economic principles to reach the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This study intends to investigate Indonesia's capacity and challenges in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through implementing the Blue-Green economic concept and suggest solutions to address these barriers. Indonesia has adopted a substantial approach to attain sustainable development objectives by implementing a blue-green economic policy. This is primarily due to the country's status as a growing archipelago with a heightened susceptibility to natural disasters that affect all facets of society, the economy, and advancement. Indonesia is crucial in the global geopolitical scene because of its plentiful, untapped maritime resources. Implementing the Blue Economy in Indonesia offers a great chance to accomplish the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Prior studies focused solely on the blue or green economy and strategies for attaining sustainable development goals in Indonesia. This research is innovative as it integrates the blue-green economic idea. The study discovered that obstacles can be surmounted by implementing solutions to address legislative, governance, legal, and economic challenges. Efficiently developing the public sector is crucial. This involves applying technology advancements, managing information effectively, coordinating with stakeholders, seeking international collaborations, and adopting global best practices. It aims to determine how sustainable development indicators, specifically in Indonesia, impact economic growth indicators such as gross domestic product. Time series analysis is utilized to depict the relationship between variables. The ARDL model research shows a long-term equilibrium relationship between different measures of sustainable development and economic growth in Indonesia. Indicators of sustainable development have been seen to influence economic growth in Iraq. The analysis demonstrates that sustainable development has fueled economic growth in Indonesia from 2014 to 2024.

Abstract

This research highlights the significant impact of Sharia-compliant fintech equity crowdfunding on business actors, focusing on the diverse avenues it offers for obtaining finance. The study is an empirical research aimed at understanding how Sharia fintech equity crowdfunding can serve as an alternative financing mechanism for entrepreneurs and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Through a comprehensive evaluation, the study examines the experiences and outcomes of business actors who have utilized this financing method. The research employs a systematic literature review (SLR) methodology, with specific criteria for participant selection. The subjects of the study include entrepreneurs and SMEs from various sectors and regions, totaling 150 participants. These participants were surveyed and interviewed to gather qualitative and quantitative data on their experiences with Sharia fintech equity crowdfunding. The study reveals that while Sharia fintech equity crowdfunding provides an innovative and ethical financing option, there are notable gaps in awareness and understanding among business actors. These gaps include a lack of knowledge about the processes and benefits of Sharia-compliant financing, and limited access to such platforms in certain regions. The research suggests the need for increased educational efforts and broader platform accessibility to maximize the potential of Sharia fintech equity crowdfunding. Additionally, the study uncovers a significant increase in financial inclusion and business growth among participants who effectively utilized this financing method, demonstrating its positive impact on economic development.

Abstract

The People's Republic of China (PRC) and the United States (US) continue to compete for power and influence in Asia, especially in Southeast Asia. This region, united in the ASEAN Community Agreement, is very important in understanding the pressures on Indonesia's geostrategic development. Failure to anticipate these pressures could endanger Indonesia's national interests and hinder the achievement of its goals and aspirations. Even though the current strategic environment is dynamic, comprehensive research on development strategies in Indonesia's geostrategic landscape is still lacking. Therefore, it is very important for the Indonesian government to actively maintain and improve its geostrategic position in both global and regional politics. This study emphasizes the need for significant consideration of these efforts in national policy-making to effectively safeguard Indonesia's national interests. A comprehensive literature review was conducted over the past decade using the “PoP” application, which combines data from various databases such as PubMed, ABI/INFORM, EBSCOhost, Emerald, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, ProQuest, Web of Science, and ERIC. This study explores important concepts such as “global politics”, “ASEAN Community”, “political development”, “political dynamics”, and “geostrategic conditions”. It also addresses challenges posed by inadequate infrastructure and limited accessibility. This research provides a comprehensive survey of the existing literature on global and regional political development processes, emphasizing the need for long-term studies of impacts, distribution tactics, and research methodologies. By predicting vulnerabilities in each National Resilience Gatra based on global and regional political dynamics, this study underscores the importance of safeguarding national interests and achieving Indonesia's ideals. Further research is essential to fill existing gaps and support Indonesia in navigating the complexity of the evolving geopolitical landscape.

Abstract

Accounting fraud is a form of financial report manipulation that has a serious impact on various economic and social aspects. Apart from being financially detrimental, this fraud also affects employees, industry, and society. This research aims to understand the role of auditors and law enforcement in preventing and handling accounting fraud, with a focus on the complex relationship between these two parties. Using a mixed methods research synthesis, we analyzed journal articles from 2014 to 2024 that covered this topic. Data was collected from various sources such as SINTA, Semantic Scholar, and Google Scholar. The research results show that there are differences in terminology and concepts of fraud among existing studies, as well as fraud analyses that are often superficial. We suggest the need for more in-depth case studies of the interactions between law enforcement and auditors. These findings underscore the importance of collaboration between academics, politicians, and practitioners to reduce the economic and social impact of accounting fraud.

Abstract

A person's financial attitude includes thoughts, attitudes, and self-confidence in managing money. A positive financial attitude is essential for responsible financial behavior and long-term well-being. Financial literacy includes financial behavior and consequences, not just information and skills. Technology in financial education has the potential to reduce the picture of financial literacy in developing countries. This research explains how technology-mediated financial education can be flexible, cost-effective, and adaptable, and reach communities underserved by financial services. This research also identified barriers such as inadequate infrastructure, limited access, and language and cultural barriers. Through extensive literature insights from various sources such as "ABInform", "EBSO Host", "Emerald", "Google Scholar", "Science Direct", "ProQuest", "Web of Science", and "ERIC", this research strives for digital inclusion and reduced financial literacy. The findings of this study suggest that although technology can be an effective tool, there is an urgent need for a thorough assessment of the long-term consequences and examination of comparative distribution techniques. This research emphasizes the need for further investigation to understand the impact of limited access to technology on financial literacy among marginalized communities.

Abstract

A major volcanic eruption in May 2006 near a gas drilling site in Sidoarjo, Indonesia, continued to emit toxic substances, including the dangerous chemical phenol. Phenols, which are found in oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, paint, and electronics, can cause human skin, eye, and mucous membrane irritation if exposed. The impact of the Lapindo mudflow has been detrimental to the economy, society, and ecology, including damage to agricultural land, disruption of livelihoods, and business closures. This research aims to identify effective disaster recovery and mitigation strategies in dealing with toxic mudflows. Authorities have planned to divert mud into the Porong River, convert the affected area into a tourist attraction, and use control pumps to deal with flooding. However, the collapse of the mud embankment caused public concern about flooding and loss of life. This study uses snowball sampling and phenomenology methods, focusing on residents around the Lapindo embankment area in Gempolsari Village. Data was collected through interviews, observation, and photo documentation. The research results show the importance of mitigation strategies that involve village halls to provide information and build residents' confidence in facing disasters. It is hoped that these findings will provide insights for the development of more effective disaster mitigation systems.
