Abstract

The practice of buying and selling agricultural products with a wholesale system (al-jizaf) is widely found in various regions, including Way Panji District, South Lampung. This system is considered practical but raises questions regarding justice, transparency, and its impact on farmers' income. This study aims to analyze the practice of wholesale rice buying and selling, its impact on farmers' income, and its conformity with Islamic business ethics. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with three farmers and two contractors, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model. The results show that the wholesale buying and selling practice is carried out through land surveys, sampling, price negotiations, down payment, and payment before harvest. This system does not significantly increase farmers' income (the difference is Rp200,000–500,000 lower than self-harvesting), but it is considered effective because farmers do not incur harvest operational costs. From the perspective of Islamic business ethics, this practice has fulfilled the principles of monotheism, justice, freedom of transaction, responsibility, and benevolence. Agreements are made through deliberation without coercion. Although there is an element of gharar (uncertainty), this is a minor gharar that is forgiven due to necessity and the buyer's expertise. This study recommends price transparency and providing farmers with the option of self-harvesting.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of madrasah principal supervision management in improving the quality of learning at Madrasah Aliyah An-Nur Mesuji. The study employed a qualitative approach with field research. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis employed data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the implementation of madrasah principal supervision management is carried out through four management functions: academic supervision planning, organizing supervision activities, implementing learning supervision, and evaluating and following up on supervision. Programmed supervision can improve teachers' pedagogical competence, lesson planning, teaching methods, and the quality of classroom learning interactions. Obstacles identified included limited supervision time and teacher administrative burdens, but these were overcome through ongoing coaching and a collaborative approach. The study's conclusions indicate that madrasah principal supervision management plays a strategic role in continuously improving the quality of learning.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the dualism between formal school systems and pesantren education, which often operate separately and result in the lack of integration between academic learning and religious development of students. This study aimed to analyze the management of curriculum integration between SMA Al-Qur’an and the halaqoh program at Pondok Pesantren Tribakti At-Taqwa. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis used the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that curriculum integration was implemented through management functions, including planning, implementation, and evaluation in an integrated manner. This integration harmonizes formal learning activities with halaqoh programs, which significantly improves educational quality in terms of academic achievement, religious understanding, and character development. Furthermore, the success of integration is supported by strong coordination among educators and a conducive pesantren environment.

Abstract

Background: In the era of globalized markets, foreign franchise networks must strategically align their operational models with domestic market dynamics to secure sustainable growth and consumer retention. Objective: This study aims to analyze the strategic adaptation, market feasibility, and consumer behavior alignment of foreign franchise businesses expanding into the Indonesian market. Method: Adopting a systematic qualitative synthesis under a strategic management framework, this research evaluates ten distinct foreign franchise case studies over the 2020–2025 period, focusing on their structural approaches, business strategy execution, and regulatory compliance. Results: The synthesis reveals two dominant operational paradigms: corporate-normative compliance and descriptive-qualitative adaptation. Successful foreign brands achieve a sustainable competitive advantage primarily by reframing their marketing frameworks to fit local consumer preferences and cultural dynamics, alongside establishing resilient contractual risk management. Furthermore, the franchise model proves to be a highly effective vehicle for entrepreneurial expansion when backed by strategic agility. Conclusion: To prevent market switching and optimize local market shares, foreign franchisors must prioritize contemporary brand integration and robust strategic feasibility studies. Future research should leverage advanced empirical metrics to measure the quantitative macroeconomic impacts of these franchise ecosystems on the Indonesian entrepreneurial landscape.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), Human Development Index (HDI), and Regional Minimum Wage (RMW) on the Open Unemployment Rate (OUR) in Indonesia within the context of the implementation of the Job Creation Law policy. The study aims to examine the role of these variables in supporting Indonesia’s efforts to overcome the Middle-Income Trap. This research employs a quantitative descriptive approach using secondary time series data covering the period 1990–2024. The analysis method applied is the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model to identify both short-run and long-run relationships among variables. The results indicate that FDI has a significant effect on the Open Unemployment Rate in both the short run and long run. In the short run, FDI initially reduces unemployment; however, its lagged effects show a temporary increase in unemployment due to labor market adjustments and the capital-intensive nature of foreign investment. In the long run, FDI significantly reduces unemployment through industrial expansion, productivity growth, and employment creation. Meanwhile, the Human Development Index has a negative but statistically insignificant effect on unemployment, indicating that improvements in human development have not yet been fully aligned with labor market demands. The Regional Minimum Wage also shows a positive but insignificant effect on unemployment, suggesting that wage increases are not the primary determinant of unemployment in Indonesia. Furthermore, the Error Correction Term (ECT) confirms the existence of a long-run equilibrium relationship with a relatively rapid adjustment process. Overall, the findings suggest that productive investment, labor market reforms, and improvements in human capital quality are essential to reducing unemployment and supporting Indonesia’s transition toward a high-income economy.

Abstract

Public health development at the regional level requires the involvement of various stakeholders, including non-governmental organizations (NGOs) as strategic partners of the government in reaching vulnerable communities. This study aims to analyze the distribution of labor absorption and the effectiveness of program output achievements in Tuberculosis (TB) patient recovery programs implemented by the Inisiatif Lampung Sehat in Lampung Province. The study employed a descriptive approach utilizing both primary and secondary data related to the number of staff, volunteers, and TB patient recovery rates in 2025 across several regencies/cities within the intervention areas. The program output achievements demonstrated significant variations among regions, with several areas attaining very high recovery rates, even exceeding the established targets. However, the findings indicate that the number of workers is not always directly proportional to program success. Instead, program effectiveness is influenced by several factors, including the quality of implementation, workforce capacity, as well as social conditions and supporting systems in each region. The study concludes that the effectiveness of TB control programs is determined not only by the quantity of labor but also by proportional workforce distribution, the competency of field personnel, and the strength of integrated support systems. Therefore, a more adaptive and region-based human resource management strategy is required to improve program achievements in an equitable and sustainable manner.

Abstract

Persistent regional disparities in food access and distribution pose significant managerial and developmental challenges for Indonesian food security. This study aims to analyze the spatial distribution patterns of food inadequacy prevalence across 514 regencies and municipalities in Indonesia in 2025 to inform more effective regional management policies. Utilizing secondary data from official government institutions, this research adopts a quantitative spatial approach using GeoDa software, performing thematic mapping, Moran’s I spatial autocorrelation, and Local Indicators of Spatial Association (LISA) analysis. The findings reveal a strong positive spatial autocorrelation (Moran’s I = 0.804), indicating that food inadequacy is not randomly distributed but forms distinct clusters. High-High clusters, or insecurity hotspots, are predominantly concentrated in Eastern Indonesia—specifically in Papua, Maluku, and East Nusa Tenggara—driven by geographical isolation and inadequate infrastructure. Conversely, Low-Low clusters are concentrated in Java and Bali, benefitting from superior economic development and market accessibility. These results conclude that food inadequacy is strongly influenced by interregional development disparities, highlighting the need for spatially integrated management strategies. Policymakers should transition toward a region-based approach, prioritizing infrastructure connectivity, strengthening local food distribution systems, and reducing socio-economic inequalities to ensure targeted and sustainable food security interventions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze global benchmarking practices and best practices, as well as their implementation in Islamic education management, through a systematic literature review (SLR) approach. In the era of globalization and increasingly fierce competition between educational institutions, benchmarking has become a strategic instrument for improving the quality and competitiveness of madrasas and Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). This study uses the SLR method following the PRISMA 2020 protocol (Page et al., 2021), which includes the stages of identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion. Data were collected from Scopus, Google Scholar, DOAJ, and Emerald Publishing databases spanning 2020 to 2025. A total of 45 qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method articles were analyzed thematically. The study identified that the implementation of global benchmarking in Islamic educational institutions is still limited and not yet systematic. Best practices that can be adopted include transformational leadership strategies, integration of digital technology in learning and governance, development of a global competency-based curriculum, total quality management (TQM), and internal and external quality assurance systems. This research provides theoretical contributions to enriching the Islamic-based integrated quality management model and practical recommendations for policymakers and managers of Islamic educational institutions. The study's conclusions emphasize the need to build a culture of sustainable benchmarking and international collaboration to achieve superior and globally competitive Islamic education.

Abstract

Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT) as a sharia microfinance institution faces serious challenges in presenting transparent and accountable business reports, especially at the urban micro scale. This study aims to analyze the role of business reports on transparency and accountability and formulate an adaptive reform model. The method used is descriptive qualitative with an intrinsic case study at an urban micro‑BMT in Lampung. Data were collected through semi‑structured interviews, passive observation, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña (2014) model. The results show that business reports play a positive but not yet optimal role: transparency is limited to physical media without digital channels, accountability operates through the annual member meeting but member participation is very low. The main obstacles include limited human resources, manual information technology, and inconsistent reporting timeliness. The novelty of this study is the Three‑Tier Reporting Model based on the principle of minimum viable transparency that can be adopted by micro‑BMTs throughout Indonesia.

Abstract

Background: The intensifying competition within the green and fast-moving consumer industries forces market leaders to strategically manage both brand perception and product value to secure sustainable consumer retention. Objective: This study aims to analyze the empirical effects of product quality (X1), brand image (X2), and price perception (X3) on purchasing decisions (Y) for mass commodities, specifically focusing on the Indomie brand within this contemporary framework. Method: Utilizing a quantitative approach with an associative design, data were gathered via online questionnaires from 161 active consumers selected through purposive sampling. The structural model was evaluated using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Results: The analytical results demonstrate that all three independent variables exert positive and statistically significant impacts on purchasing decisions. Based on the empirical path coefficients, contemporary brand image significantly influences the outcome (β = 0.390), alongside price perception (β= 0.355) and product quality (β = 0.270), collectively explaining 66.9% of the variance (R2 = 0.669). Conclusion: Conclusively, while all factors are critical, reframing marketing strategies to emphasize a dominant, contemporary brand image alongside strong price-benefit alignment is vital for companies to prevent customer switching and secure a sustainable competitive advantage in mass commodity markets.
