Abstract

Indonesian education is facing various challenges related to the integrity, morality, and intellectual quality of students. This condition indicates the need to strengthen the foundation of values in the education system. This article aims to examine the educational values contained in QS. Al-'Alaq verses 1-5 and their relevance as an idea for revitalizing education in Indonesia through the concept of Edutheology. This research uses a library research method with a normative, historical, and sociocultural approach. The analysis is carried out through an interpretive study of QS. Al-'Alaq verses 1-5 which is then connected to the historical context of Indonesian society and contemporary educational challenges. The results of the study indicate that the concept of iqra' in the verse not only represents intellectual activity but also contains a theological dimension that positions the learning process as a manifestation of monotheistic awareness. This concept encourages humans to read and understand various realities comprehensively. This conceptual finding leads to the idea of monotheism-based education (Edutheology) as a framework for educational revitalization that integrates scientific and spiritual dimensions so that it can encourage the realization of a more civilized and progressive Indonesian educational climate.

Abstract

This study critically examines and reconceptualizes the role of Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam/PAI) in strengthening Islamic character (akhlaq) among students in Indonesian educational institutions. Employing a qualitative library research methodology grounded in systematic content analysis, the study draws upon classical Islamic educational theory, contemporary pedagogical literature, and national education policy frameworks. The findings reveal that PAI functions as a strategic instrument of moral, spiritual, and social formation through three interconnected pillars: integration of moral values (akhlaq) into curriculum design, teacher role modeling (uswah hasanah), and value-based contextual learning. The reconstruction of Islamic character education demands synergy among school, family, and community as a holistic value-education ecosystem. This article argues that PAI transcends mere transmission of religious knowledge to become a transformative process of forming students who are faithful (iman), pious (taqwa), and morally excellent (akhlaq al-karimah), fully aligned with the national education vision and the Islamic principle of rahmatan lil ‘alamin. Grounded in the classical thought of al-Ghazali, Ibn Miskawaih, and Ibn Sina, as well as contemporary scholars, this study offers a three-dimensional conceptual model philosophical, pedagogical, and sociological as a framework for PAI-based character strengthening in the modern educational context.

Abstract

Learning motivation is an important factor in the success of the learning process, particularly in Islamic Religious Education (IRE), as students’ motivation is often low due to monotonous teaching methods and the limited use of interactive learning media. This condition can negatively affect students’ engagement in the learning process and their learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Blooket platform as a game-based learning medium in increasing students’ learning motivation in Islamic Religious Education learning at SMK Keluarga Widuri Jakarta. This study employed a quantitative approach using a One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The subjects were 20 tenth-grade Culinary students at SMK Keluarga Widuri Jakarta selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and observations. The research instrument was tested using validity and reliability tests, while data analysis was conducted using normality tests and a Paired Sample t-Test with the assistance of SPSS. The results showed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a significant difference in students’ learning motivation before and after the implementation of Blooket. These findings indicate that the Blooket platform was effective in increasing students’ learning motivation and creating a more interactive and engaging learning atmosphere.
