Jurnal Kepariwisataan: Destinasi, Hospitalitas dan Perjalanan (ISSN 2477-3808; e-ISSN 2721-4753) is a peer-reviewed journal which is published by Politeknik Pariwisata NHI Bandung (PPNHIB) Jurnal Kepariwisataan aims at initiating and stimulating advances in hospitality and tourism research. Therefore, it publishes papers that promote new ideas, models, approaches, and paradigms by contributing to the advances in knowledge and theory of hospitality and tourism. The journal covers applied research studies and review articles, both in a format of the full-length articles and research notes. Applied research studies are expected to examine relationships among variables relevant to hospitality and tourism by employing appropriate analytical or statistical techniques. High-quality review articles that address the latest advances and develop theoretical knowledge or thinking about key aspects of hospitality and tourism are accepted. Research notes are short articles that report advances in methodology, exploratory research findings or extensions / discussions of prior research. Jurnal Kepariwisataan will also welcome commentary in response to published articles. Abstract

This paper aims at analyzing the opportunities for managing and developing Kampung Nelayan as Desa wisata tourism village); 2) recommending efforts or steps to optimize the role and function of the community in managing tourism village. This paper employed a qualitative methodology in understanding and analyzing the actual condition of Kampung Nelayan through interviews and observation. The research was done in 2019 by visiting the research area. The research shows that Kampung Nelayan in Belitung Regency has the potential as a tourism village. Cultural tourism, with an emphasis on community-based rural tourism, is essential to attract visitors. The hospitality of the local people is an important factor in supporting the implementation of community-based rural tourism. This paper proposes the role of the local community for the implementation of a tourism village, including the initiator, executor, and evaluator. The local community, as the stakeholder of tourism, may implement stages (functions) such as socialization, economic, participation, and mutual support to achieve the goals of tourism village.

Abstract

Yogyakarta Batik Museum is one of the tourist destinations where as batik as major attraction. The museum is not only being a place of batik storage collections, but also offer hotels, batik shops and training of classic batik production. This study aims to provide Alternatives on marketing strategies through 7P marketing mix analysis in Yogyakarta Batik Museum. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. Primary and secondary data are used in analyzing the 7P marketing mix at the Yogyakarta Batik Museum. The data was obtained that concerns on products, prices, places, promotions, physical evidence, people and processes in implementation the marketing strategy of the Yogyakarta Batik Museum. The results of this study are recommended alternative marketing strategies for the Yogyakarta Batik Museum. These alternative strategies are Strengthening historical and cultural values as the identity of products from batik in Yogyakarta batik museum, Differentiation of ticketing prices for tourists, Optimization of online strength through social media, and Optimization of tasks and jobs in Human Resources.

Abstract

This study aims to discuss the destination branding of Indonesia using halal tourism instruments to increase tourist arrivals, especially from the Middle East market, and make Indonesia the world's halal tourist destination. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with the concept of destination branding and public diplomacy. The results of this study indicate that Indonesia embarked on destination branding by establishing the Halal Tourism Indonesia Logo, Halal Tourism Indonesia: The Halal Wonders, to describe its halal tourist destinations, then designating three regions that are considered ready to be the leading halal tourist destinations, namely Lombok (Friendly Lombok), Aceh (The Light of Aceh), and West Sumatra (Taste of Padang) as seen from facilities and services that meet the criteria halal tourism and won the world's best halal tourism award representing Indonesia at the World Halal Travel Summit in Abu Dhabi 2015 and 2016. In addition, Indonesia also made efforts to halal tourism diplomacy through familiarization trips, attending national and international exhibitions, and through the media and seen the results of the increasing number of Middle Eastern tourists visiting as the primary target market for halal tourism.

Abstract

The recent outbreak of Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 caused a worldwide paranoia due to its fatal nature. The pandemic of COVID-19 affects globally and also in Indonesia itself, wherein Indonesia, one of the affected, is the tourism sector. Indonesia is currently conscious of this pandemic infection, and harms the company, someone’s job career, especially since this pandemic disease is getting worse, it also has an impact on the tourism and hospitality sectors. This study is to investigate the Indonesian tourism employee’s perspectives’ who are working in the realm of tourism and hospitality industry, to see the impact of their jobs career. The researcher will use a qualitative study for this research. The study's data is collected from tourism employees in Indonesia, and ten questions have given to the employees. There are fifty-two tourism employees from a different company in Indonesia have participated in filling the questionnaires. Moreover, results are also generally highlighted in Indonesia about negatively impact the Indonesian to negatively impact the Indonesian tourism and the hospitality industry as a consequence of a significant pandemic of disease spreading throughout the world. Some positive and negative perspectives that are also apparent in the result of questionnaires. The conclusion, the aim of the study will further help the authority to take precautions and relevant policies also to be incorporated in the future. Also, it is to investigate the tourism employees from a different company in Indonesia’s beliefs and perspectives toward the impact of their jobs career in the pandemic COVID-19 have a good impact or not for jobs career.

Abstract

On December 23, 2018, a tsunami caused by the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau in the Sunda Strait hit the coastal areas of Banten and Lampung. There were at least 426 people killed and 7,202 injured and 23 people missing due to this incident. One of the areas affected by this disaster is the Special Economic Zone (KEK) of Tanjung Lesung Tourism, which was officially opened in February 2015. With this incident, the Tourism sector in the area needs to be considered starting from the development and post-disaster plans. This research was conducted to be able to map out how the potential of new tourism due to disasters that can be used as a plan to develop tourist attractions in the region. This research was conducted qualitatively by involving various key informants as sources of data needed such as the head of the Local Tourism Office, coastal community leaders affected by the disaster, affected communities, hotel owners around the disaster area. From the results of these data and used as a source of information to be used as a result of research. The results of this study are how a new potential emerges utilizing the areas of the former disaster and the mystery stories of the disaster.
