Abstract

Chain is a series of links or rings that are connected or attached to one another so that they form an elongated shape. Chains are used to move loads or as a substitute for additional power. One of the chains that is often used is made of the hardest metal, namely steel. One of them is a chain roller attached to the Tippler, where this chain functions to pour ripe fruit bunches from the lorry. The purpose of this research is to determine the performance of Tippler to rotate Tippler Lori containing Ripe Fruit Bunches. Based on the calculations that the author has carried out, the amount of load that occurs on the chain is 5610 Kgf. And the allowable Tensile Stress in the chain is 1225 Mpa.

Abstract

Waqf is one of the acts of worship in Islam. Through waqf, Muslims can set aside a portion of their wealth for the benefit of the community, especially for the construction and maintenance of mosques. Masjid Fathur Rahman is one of the mosques located in the Binjai area, North Sumatra. This study developed a mobile-based waqf application for Masjid Fathur Rahman using the Extreme Programming method. The aim is to facilitate waqf donations and improve the efficiency of fundraising. The application development is made with two types of applications: a web application for mosque administrators and a mobile application for waqif. The success achieved by this application is inseparable from the advantages of the Extreme Programming method, which ensures a fast and structured application development process, increasing transparency and accountability in waqf management. As a result, the application created can be completed quickly and the application runs well so that the waqif can carry out waqf through the mobile waqf application.

Abstract

This research was conducted at PT. XYZ. Oil losses are the percentage of oil that is absent or not included in the subsequent oil processing process but is included in the waste process. The aim of this research is to determine the percentage of oil loss contained in press dregs using the soxhletation extraction method. Based on the results of mass balance calculations, it was obtained that the number of components entering the screw press was 22,401 kg/hour of digester chopping and 6000 kg/hour of delusion water. The number of components coming out of the Screw press, namely press dregs, is 8,400 kg/hour and Delution crude oil is 20,001 kg/hour. The results of this research show that the oil losses obtained during the pressing process were 4.45% or 373.80 kg/hour. This is in accordance with factory standards where oil losses are 4-6%.

Abstract

Poly Aluminum Chloride is a chemical used to reduce water turbidity. Poly Aluminum Chloride will agglomerate dirt in water into larger particles so that it settles more easily. The amount of coagulant added to the water must be precise so that the turbidity of the water can be suppressed to the maximum. To find out the optimal dose, a jar test procedure was carried out. The jar test was carried out by adding coagulants with different variations. The jar test will give results on how variations in the amount of coagulant affect the turbidity level of the water. In water with a turbidity of 25.2 NTU, the optimum dose of PAC coagulant used was 30 ppm. With this dose, the PAC coagulant discharge injected into raw water at a water treatment plant is 56,0747 ml/s.

Abstract

The short film entitled "batasan" tells the story of two students who have different personalities, lazy and diligent. "batasan" film aims to convey a moral message to the community to know the limits, not to depend on and take advantage of someone's kindness. The making of the film focuses on cinematography shooting techniques and continuity editing. The use of continuity editing aims to make the audience feel comfortable and not disturbed by the unclear space or time while watching the film. This study uses the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method stages consisting of concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution. Based on the results of the questionnaire that has been distributed, respondents stated that 91% were satisfied with the film they watched, and the reliability was tested with an overall Cronbach alpha number of 0.771.

Abstract

The short film "Hidup Mahasiswa yang Berubah" tells the story of a student who misuses technology. Cinematography, which is the art of capturing moving images, has evolved through technological advancements that have enabled the development of various visual styles and creative techniques. In the short film, cinematography, one-take technique, and color grading are crucial, and how all of these are utilized is essential. Using the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method, the film development consists of six stages: concept, design, material collection, production, testing, and distribution, where one-take and cinematography are applied during the production stage. The film testing was conducted through a questionnaire with 20 students from Polytechnic of Samarinda. The results showed that the one-take technique increased audience engagement, while color grading enhanced the visual and emotional narrative. In summary, a work that is entertaining and visually and emotionally profound is created through creative cinematography, effective one-take technique, and color grading. This provides practical guidance for those just starting to make short films

Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology in the entertainment industry includes the field of animation. One popular form of animation is 2D animation, which effectively conveys messages to viewers. Tweening is a technique commonly used in 2D animation, allowing smooth transitions between keyframes. This technique will be applied in a short 2D animated film titled “Phantom.” The film tells the story of a student named Silver who experiences bullying during school, accompanied by a growing shadow with each instance of mistreatment. These experiences take a toll on Silver’s physical and psychological well-being. The research aims to explore the implementation of tweening techniques in 2D animation and deliver a moral message to the audience. By following the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) approach, this animation succeeded in applying tweening techniques in animation as well as providing a moral message and entertainment with an assessment result of 87%, 88% for the assessment of understanding the moral message and 86% for the assessment of entertainment.

Abstract

In the industry, the use of a Thermal Oil Heater (TOH) is employed to generate a heating system by heating oil, which will be used in the production process in units that require a heating system. In the TOH unit, a pump is used to transfer the fluid, where the pump's connection uses a flange coupling to link the motor and magnetic pump for transferring thermal oil. The size and material of the bolts and nuts in the flange coupling are crucial to ensure operational safety and efficiency, taking into account rotation, power, and thermal expansion. Through observation, documentation, interviews, and literature studies, the research shows that the optimal nominal bolt diameter is 9.52 mm with a coupling distance of 60 mm, in accordance with industry standards such as the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and the Japan International Standard (JIS) to prevent joint failure and damage to the flange coupling

Abstract

The implementation of the final project in higher education often faces obstacles in managing and monitoring progress, especially in the Department of Information Technology, Samarinda State Polytechnic. Submission of the final project title which is still done manually using physical forms and Google Forms results in a slow process and is limited by place and time. This research aims to design and build a web-based final project title submission application. The method used is analysis and design with waterfall modeling, using the PHP programming language, Laravel framework. The result of this research is a web application system that can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of final project management in the Information Technology Department, so that the process runs more smoothly and transparently. The conclusion of this research is that the web-based final project title submission application is designed for students, helps admins manage final project titles and supervisor submissions efficiently, and manage final project trial schedules with scheduling, coordination, and monitoring features and provides significant benefits for study programs, admins, and students, making it easier to submit titles, optimizing communication, and helping the approval and scheduling process.

Abstract

The game "Recon Duty" is a shooting game with a camera angle from above looking down and also a Pixel Art visual display on every object, creature, and environment. This game is designed using the Godot engine with the GDScript language as a general programming language in the game engine application. Several stages of the Game Development Life Cycle (GDLC) consist of initiation, Pre-Production, Production, Evaluation, and Publication. The application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to Non-Playable Characters (NPC) uses the pathfinding method to find a way to the target. The A-Star algorithm on NonPlayable Character (NPC) aims to determine the shortest path from the surrounding environment, so that it can reach the destination. This research produces a Recon Duty game that can be used as a means of entertainment for the community.
