Abstract

This study aims to determine the wastewater management system at Bhayangkara Hospital, Palu. In carrying out their activities, hospitals produce liquid waste that can interfere with health. If not handled properly, it will cause harm to society and the environment. The research results at Bhanyangkara Hospital in Palu show that the wastewater management system already has many filters and other control tanks. A cover has accompanied each tub, channeled through an open channel, closed channel, the building is watertight, and the water flows smoothly. , already has a Flow Meter device but does not have a fat catcher, especially in the nutrition room, liquid waste in the Laboratory room at the third party to PT. Tenang Jaya Sejahtera until its destruction, the Radiology room has used the CR System, so there is no wastewater because it has used the tool, carries out primary and secondary treatment and supplies tools for treating liquid waste are still not available such as daily pH tools, pH tools handy for measuring the level of acidity/base of a liquid and besides that for the Flow Meter tool is readily available. Suggestions are expected that this study's results are used as input and become useful information, especially for Bhayangkara Hospital in Palu and the people living around Bhayangkara Hospital in Palu to know the impact of wastewater management.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the chlorine content (Cl2) in rice at the Manonda Inpres Market in Palu by conducting laboratory tests. This type of research is a descriptive study with an observational approach. This research describes the examination of chlorine content (Cl2) in rice at the Manonda Inpres Market in Palu through laboratory tests. The object of this research is the total of 15 rice merchandise samples scattered in the Manonda Inpres Market, Palu. The results showed that the 15 rice samples were declared non-reactive, which means that all samples did not contain chlorine (Cl2). This study suggests that health agencies are expected to carry out health and food safety checks of hazardous food additives, in particular routine checks of chlorine (Cl2) content in rice.

Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis is a contagious disease and can affect various age groups and is experienced by many people with middle to lower-income. This study aimed to determine the factors associated with pulmonary tuberculosis incidence. Analytical observational research with a cross-sectional study approach at Puskesmas Makale Utara, Tana Toraja Regency, was conducted for two weeks and conducted in October 2020. In this study, the population and sample were patients visited in one period at the Puskesmas through the accidental sampling method. Collecting data using a research questionnaire and data analysis using Chi-Square. The results showed that knowledge (p = 0.001), type of work (p = 0.001), smoking habits (p = 0.000) were associated with pulmonary tuberculosis. The conclusion is that knowledge, type of work, and smoking habits predispose pulmonary tuberculosis incidence factors. So that patients can adopt a healthy lifestyle and consume nutritious foods.

Abstract

Background: The incidence of preeclampsia is still high in the world and in Indonesia. In obstetric care, preeclampsia still a big problem and is a cause of increasing maternal and neonatal mortality and morbidity. This research aimed to discover the difference of vitamin D and calcium level in preeclampsia and normal pregnancy. Methods: The design of this study was cross sectional and conducted in RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang and Lubuk Buaya Public Health Center between February 2017 – November 2017. Sample in this research were 25 women with over 20 weeks of pregnancy who are diagnosed with preeclampsia and 25 women with normal pregnancy, gathered using consecutive sampling technic. The vitamin D levels were examined using ELISA and calcium levels using ARSENAZO method. The results were tested for data normality using Shapiro-Wilk, and then the unpaired T-test was performed. Results: The result of this research showed mean vitamin D levels of 417.42 ± 176.02 pg/mL in preeclampsia and 437.16 ± 165.13 pg/mL in normal pregnancy, with p > 0.05. The meancalcium levels were 9.51 ± 1.123 mg/dL and 9.86 ± 0.96 mg/dL in preeclampsia and normal pregnancy, respectively, with p > 0.05. Conclusion: From this research, the author concludes that there were no significant differences of vitamin D in preeclampsia and normal pregnancy, and there were no significant differences of calcium in preeclampsia and normal pregnancy.

Abstract

Trend contraceptive use in Indonesia is higher from 49,7% in 1997 and 61,9% in 2012, but it becomes 61,1% in 2015. But Modern contraceptive use is high in short-term contraception and skewed method mix in one method. The skewed method is influenced by the quality of the program. The aim of the study describe modern contraceptive use and quality of service family planning in the district. A cross-sectional study using PMA2020 survey data conducted from May to October 2015 in Indonesia. The sample was woman sexual active respondents and health care has chosen using two stages stratified random sampling. The result of the study showed percentage of modern contraceptive use was the skewed method (93%). The skewed method was in injection contraceptive (62,4%). Service environment index in district is 75% inadequate. Service environment index family planning in district showed inadequate (75%), availability contraceptive methods in district is less than 5 methods (69%). The result described inadequate service environment index showed skewed contraceptive used (94,7%). District that has not adequate service environment is higher skewed method than adequate service environment. Improve service environment quality family can help women to choose suitable contraceptive.
