Abstract

This study aims to analyze the process and impact of business mapping digitalization for blacksmith enterprises in Dusun 12 Benteng Rejo as an effort to increase the visibility of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through the Google Maps platform. The study is motivated by the condition of blacksmith craftsmen who still rely on traditional promotion and have not yet adopted digital technology. The research uses a qualitative approach with field studies, direct observation, and interviews with local entrepreneurs. Data were analyzed descriptively to illustrate conditions before and after the implementation of digitalization. The results show that digitalization through registration in Google Business Profile and location mapping on Google Maps had a significant effect on improving visibility and customer reach. Twelve blacksmith enterprises were successfully registered and can now be accessed publicly through online search. After the digitalization process, orders increased by approximately 40%, supported by positive customer reviews and better product documentation. Moreover, this initiative improved local digital literacy and encouraged collaboration among blacksmiths. This study concludes that location-based digitalization is a strategic step to empower rural economies. Digital mapping serves not only as a promotional tool but also as a means to strengthen local identity and create a sustainable business ecosystem.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a significant public health problem in Palembang City. Although the number of presumptive TB cases receiving standard services decreased from 63,104 cases in 2023 to 44,979 cases in 2024, the burden of TB remains high. In the working area of the 23 Ilir Public Health Center, 385 presumptive TB cases received standard services in 2023. The identified problems include low treatment adherence, limited public awareness to seek early medical examination despite experiencing cough for more than two weeks, and persistent negative stigma toward people with TB.This community service activity aimed to improve public knowledge regarding TB, including its causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment adherence, and prevention of disease transmission. This activity also aimed to reduce TB-related stigma and increase community awareness to seek healthcare services. The method used was health education through a community empowerment approach involving individuals at risk or affected by respiratory diseases, patients undergoing long-term treatment, family members, health cadres, and community leaders in the working area of the 23 Ilir Public Health Center, Palembang.The activities included pre-test assessment, TB education sessions, discussions, demonstrations of proper cough etiquette and mask use, utilization of leaflets and posters, and post-test evaluation. The results showed an increase in community knowledge, from an average score of 67% before education to 93% after education. Participants were also able to correctly demonstrate cough etiquette and proper mask wearing and removal techniques. Health education based on community empowerment is effective in improving knowledge and skills related to TB transmission prevention. The involvement of families, health cadres, and community leaders plays an important role in supporting early detection, reducing stigma, and strengthening TB prevention behaviors within the community.

Abstract

Penyakit Mulut dan Kuku (PMK) tetap menjadi tantangan utama bagi sektor peternakan Indonesia karena penularannya yang tinggi dan dampak ekonomi yang besar terhadap produksi hewan. Penerapan langkah-langkah biosekuriti di tingkat peternakan kecil merupakan strategi kunci untuk mengurangi risiko penularan penyakit; namun, penerapannya masih terhambat oleh pengetahuan petani yang terbatas dan praktik pengelolaan yang tidak konsisten. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, kesadaran, dan keterampilan praktis petani dalam menerapkan langkah-langkah biosekuriti sekaligus mendorong partisipasi mereka dalam program vaksinasi PK nasional di Nagari Suayan, Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota, Sumatera Barat, Indonesia. Program ini dilaksanakan dalam tiga fase berurutan: persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Hasil program dinilai menggunakan daftar periksa observasi dan Diskusi Kelompok Terfokus (FGD) untuk mengidentifikasi perubahan pengetahuan, persepsi, dan praktik pengelolaan peserta setelah intervensi. Temuan menunjukkan peningkatan kesadaran petani mengenai pencegahan PK, yang tercermin dalam praktik kebersihan kandang yang lebih baik, penyediaan fasilitas disinfeksi, pembatasan pergerakan hewan, dan peningkatan partisipasi dalam kegiatan vaksinasi yang dilakukan bekerja sama dengan Dinas Peternakan dan Kesehatan Hewan setempat. Selain memperkuat kapasitas petani, program ini juga meningkatkan kolaborasi antara universitas, pemerintah daerah, dan komunitas pertanian, sehingga memberikan landasan bagi inisiatif pencegahan penyakit hewan berbasis komunitas yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Nogosari is a village in the Pacet District, Mojokerto Regency, East Java Province. This village has natural wealth in the form of forests, rice fields and fields which are widely planted with grains, wheat, tubers, corn and herbal plants. The results of this natural wealth are the main source of livelihood for the Village community. In creating a prosperous community development, villagers carry out business activities such as MSMEs. These UMKM products are the result of their own processing or home industry, the materials used are from their harvests. Thus, the selling price is cheaper. The purpose of this study is to provide socialization and guidance for the development of village residents' SMEs. Implementation methods include socialization of business legality or P-IRT, simple financial reports, product rebranding, online marketing through available media as well as MSME financial management guidance. The result of the activity is the participation of villagers in understanding the socialization and guidance that has been given. The conclusion in the implementation of activities, the villagers are able to manage their UMKM, but there is a need for development to create quality MSMEs.

Abstract

Sexual violence and domestic violence remain serious community problems, including in Ende Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. Many cases remain unreported because victims may feel afraid, ashamed, or unaware of available reporting channels. This community service program developed a web-based reporting application to enable victims and witnesses to report violence safely, quickly, and confidentially. The program was implemented in collaboration with the Pedulih Kasih Association, an organization concerned with the protection of women and children in Ende Regency. The application was designed not only as a reporting tool but also as an educational medium to increase public awareness of violence prevention and victim protection. The implementation consisted of five stages: needs identification and field surveys, application design and development, training and mentoring, application testing and evaluation, and implementation and monitoring. The activities were conducted collaboratively with partners. The outputs included a web-based violence reporting application, a user training module, digital educational materials, scientific publications and documentation, and improved partner capacity in handling violence reports. The implementation achieved approximately 80% of the planned targets, including completion of the application prototype, dissemination to partners, and increased community understanding of the importance of reporting and victim protection. The program demonstrates potential for broader adoption as a digital and integrated mechanism for addressing gender-based violence.

Abstract

Glucose metabolism disorders such as prediabetes and diabetes mellitus remain major public health concerns due to their potential to increase the risk of chronic complications. This community service activity aimed to conduct fasting blood glucose and HbA1c screening as an early detection strategy for impaired glycemic control in the community. A total of 155 participants were involved, consisting mainly of adults and older individuals, with female participants predominating. The examination results showed that most participants had normal fasting blood glucose and HbA1c levels; however, cases of prediabetes and diabetes mellitus were still identified. Data distribution demonstrated a tendency for blood glucose levels to increase with advancing age, although the observed relationship was relatively weak. These findings indicate that aging and lifestyle-related factors contribute to impaired glucose metabolism. Chronic hyperglycemia may trigger insulin resistance, oxidative stress, and vascular damage, thereby increasing the risk of cardiovascular disease, nephropathy, neuropathy, and diabetic retinopathy. Regular screening and health education are important to improve early detection, risk factor control, and prevention of diabetes-related complications within the community.

Abstract

Practical English proficiency is an essential competency for senior high school students to prepare for higher education and future careers. However, many students still experience difficulties in using English for everyday communication because classroom instruction tends to emphasize theoretical knowledge rather than practical application. This community service program, entitled English for the Future, was conducted to enhance the practical English skills of students at SMA Negeri 2 Sukawati. The program employed interactive learning methods, including material presentation, communicative practice, real-life conversation simulations, group discussions, and learning evaluation through pre-test and post-test assessments. The training was implemented through face-to-face sessions involving senior high school students as the primary participants. The results demonstrated an improvement in students' practical English proficiency, as indicated by higher post-test scores compared to the pre-test. Furthermore, participants showed increased confidence in communicating in English and actively engaged throughout the training sessions. The program also produced several tangible outputs, including a training documentation video, mass media publication, and an intellectual property rights (IPR)-registered educational poster. Overall, the program contributed positively to strengthening students' practical English competencies and may serve as a sustainable community engagement model to support students' academic and career readine.

Abstract

Waterlogging and household organic waste are environmental problems that require active community participation. Biopore infiltration holes can improve rainwater infiltration while providing a medium for organic waste decomposition. This community service program aimed to improve the knowledge, skills, and participation of residents of Turi Village, Lamongan Regency, in constructing and maintaining biopore infiltration holes. Activities included problem identification, partner coordination, socialization, hands-on training, mentoring, and evaluation. Thirty-two participants were involved. Evaluation used pre- and post-activity questionnaires, observation of practical skills, and monitoring of biopore conditions. The program produced 12 biopore infiltration holes. Average knowledge increased from 50% in the pretest to 90% in the posttest, while 50% of participants demonstrated correct construction and maintenance procedures. Organic waste added to the holes averaged approximately 1 kg per week. The program indicates that training combined with practice and mentoring can strengthen community capacity for rainwater and organic waste management. Continued implementation requires clear responsibility, routine maintenance, and periodic monitoring.

Abstract

School libraries function effectively when collections are accessible, administrative control is reliable, and services are supported by continuous management. This community-service program aimed to revitalize basic library management at MTsN 1 Langkat through physical reorganization, collection arrangement, and administrative strengthening. The program was integrated with the Field Experience Practice of two Islamic Education Management students and implemented on 3–6 August 2026. A participatory problem-solving approach was applied through initial diagnosis, joint prioritization, action, and descriptive evaluation. Data were obtained from observation, interviews, documentation, and before–after comparison. The initial condition showed scattered collections, insufficient routine management, missing and flood-damaged books, and the absence of systematically documented visit data. The intervention reorganized furniture and shelves, sorted collections, supported textbook distribution, introduced basic recording of book numbers, and managed 750 copies. After the activity, the library was cleaner, more orderly, and collections were easier to locate; school stakeholders also provided positive qualitative responses. However, the short implementation period and absence of standardized pre–post literacy indicators mean that improved reading literacy cannot be claimed directly. Sustainable staffing, standardized circulation records, collection renewal, and routine usage monitoring are therefore recommended.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to assist micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Bogosari Village, Guntur District, Demak Regency, in obtaining self-declared halal certification and a Business Identification Number (NIB). The activity was conducted on 13 August 2026 through a one-day direct household visit approach involving six students from the Community Service Program (KKN MIT 22) of UIN Walisongo Semarang, in collaboration with Muhammad Iqbal Ibrahim, a Halal Process Assistant (Pendamping Proses Produk Halal/PPH) from LP3H Puspelindo, an institution affiliated with the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH). Four MSME actors participated, namely Bunda Mila (donut bakery), Tiga Putri (banana chips), Kripik Matahari (rice cracker chips), and Dua Udang (dumpling chips), all of which had operated for more than five years without prior business legality. The assistance method consisted of document verification, product composition and packaging assessment, and OSS-based NIB registration. The results showed that all four MSMEs successfully obtained their NIB on the same day, while their halal certification applications were submitted to BPJPH and remained under verification at the time of writing. The activity increased participants' awareness of the importance of business legality and halal assurance for enhancing product competitiveness and consumer trust.
