Abstract

Health law education for patients and their families regarding their rights and obligations in hospitals. Lack of understanding of health law among patients and their families often triggers conflicts and disputes in hospitals. Although patients' rights are guaranteed by law, a lack of legal literacy makes it difficult to realize these rights in practice. This community service project proposes a comprehensive education model aimed at increasing patient and family awareness of their rights and obligations. This program will be implemented through several main stages: (1) an initial survey to identify educational needs; (2) the development of concise, practical, and easy-to-understand modules; (3) interactive educational sessions delivered directly in the hospital area; and (4) the distribution of easily accessible information materials. With this approach, our program not only focuses on empowering patients to be more proactive in medical decision-making but also aims to create a more transparent and harmonious relationship between patients, families, and healthcare professionals. It is hoped that the end result of this program will significantly reduce the potential for medical disputes and encourage the realization of more humane and patient-centered healthcare services.

Abstract

Cooperatives play a strategic role in strengthening the community economy based on participation and family principles. In Dlanggu Village, Mojokerto Regency, cooperative institutions have not developed optimally due to managerial limitations and understanding of governance. This activity aims to increase the capacity of prospective administrators, supervisors, and managers of the Red and White Cooperative through competency-based training and participatory mentoring. The research used a descriptive qualitative approach with a participatory method, involving 15 participants from the community, MSME actors, and village officials. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires before and after training, then analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña models through data reduction, presentation, triangulation, and conclusion drawn. The results showed a significant increase in the managerial competence of the participants, especially in the aspects of governance, financial administration, and the application of the principles of Good Cooperative Governance (GCG). Participants understand the importance of transparency, accountability, and independence in cooperative management. In addition to technical improvements, this training strengthens social bonding, collective responsibility, and community social capital. Synergy between members, administrators, and supervisors has been proven to increase the trust and effectiveness of cooperative institutions. This program is a model for strengthening capacity based on community participation that can be replicated in other villages.

Abstract

The community service activity entitled "Training on Making Organic Fertilizer with Biocomposters at SMP Negeri 40 Makassar" aims to increase the knowledge, skills, and environmental awareness of teachers and students in managing organic waste. This program applies a participatory approach and project-based learning through three main stages, namely preparation, training, and mentoring. A total of 50 participants consisting of teachers, students, and cleaning staff participated in direct training on the theory and operation of biocomposters. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' knowledge by 42.2% and a decrease in the volume of organic waste by up to 57%. The biocomposter produces 65 kg of solid compost and 15 liters of liquid organic fertilizer within 21 days. In addition, the School Biocomposter Management Team (TPBS) was formed as an effort to sustain the program. The implementation of biocomposters not only reduces waste generation, but also creates a greener and cleaner school environment, while strengthening environmental education practices that are in line with the Adiwiyata program and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) points 11 and 13. This program is expected to be a school-based waste management model that can be replicated in other educational institutions.

Abstract

Children play an important role in determining the quality of a nation's civilization. It is no surprise that preparing the next generation is an important dimension for state administrators. Guarantees for the protection of children's rights are not only regulated in the Indonesian constitution, but also reinforced in Law No. 23 of 2002 in conjunction with Law No. 17 of 2016 concerning Child Protection. Even Law No. 39 of 1999 on Human Rights contains provisions that children's rights are human rights and that for their benefit, children's rights are recognized and protected by law even from the moment of conception. Various parties have the obligation and responsibility to guarantee the fulfillment of these children's rights, starting from the smallest institutions, namely the family, community, village/sub-district government, sub-district, regency/city government, provincial government, and the government. One form of protection for children is by preventing child marriage. This community service activity aims to educate the community, especially students in schools, about children's rights. This is because the protection of children's human rights is regulated in various laws and regulations in Indonesia, including government efforts to prevent child marriage. It is important for students to understand this so that they can avoid marriage at a young age. This activity is a solution to reduce the number of child marriages. Therefore, the target audience for this activity is students. The activity held at YP UNILA High School in Bandar Lampung. The methods used in this activity will be lectures, and discussions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality of carbon emission disclosure (CED) in the sustainability reports of mining and property sector companies, based on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) 305 standards. A multi-case study approach was applied to ten companies from Indonesia and developed countries (Japan, Australia, Singapore, Austria) covering the period 2020–2023. The method used is a descriptive quantitative and qualitative analysis, measuring compliance with seven GRI 305 indicators, including Scope 1, Scope 2, Scope 3, and additional indicators such as ozone-depleting substances and other air pollutants. The results show that only three out of ten companies demonstrate high disclosure quality. Most companies failed to adequately disclose Scope 3 and indicators GRI 305-6 and 305-7. Factors such as stakeholder pressure, national reporting systems, and internal corporate strategies significantly influence disclosure quality. This study emphasizes the need for stricter regulations and the active role of investors in promoting environmental transparency.

Abstract

Marine tourism has become one of Gorontalo’s key attractions, particularly through the whale shark sightings in Botubarani Village. However, existing branding efforts and digital promotion have not yet captured the region’s local strengths effectively. This community engagement program was carried out to formulate a branding strategy that highlights conservation, cultural values, and the unique character of Gorontalo’s shark tourism, while also enhancing the community’s digital promotion skills. The study employed a participatory qualitative approach through outreach activities, training sessions, focus group discussions, and mentoring involving 40 participants from various community groups. Data were collected through observation, simple questionnaires, and documentation, and were analyzed using a SWOT framework. The results show that a strong destination brand can be developed through three main pillars: whale shark conservation, strengthening local culture, and advancing coastal MSME products. Digital training significantly improved the community’s ability to produce photo, video, and narrative content, making the village’s social media more active and well-directed. The SWOT analysis produced practical strategies that stakeholders can apply to reinforce the destination’s identity. These findings emphasize that conservation- and culture-based branding, supported by digital marketing, can enhance community participation and strengthen the competitiveness of marine tourism in a sustainable manner.
