Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of a hydroponic training program implemented by the Class II Purwokerto Correctional Center (Bapas) in improving the skills and independence of correctional clients. The research used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through interviews with vocational guidance officers and participating clients. The results indicate that hydroponic training had a positive impact on clients, both in technical skills and in their social readiness to reintegrate into society. Clients reported increased self-confidence, new hopes, and potential for independent entrepreneurship after completing the program. However, the training still faces challenges such as limited funding and program sustainability. Despite these obstacles, the training is considered effective as a form of career advocacy and independence development, aligned with the goals of social rehabilitation in the correctional system.

Abstract

The increasingly complex issue of environmental degradation demands a holistic approach, including a religious perspective. This study explores environmental conservation through reforestation from the perspective of the hadiths of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), focusing on the Islamic ecotheological values reflected in his sayings. This is a qualitative study using a library research method, collecting data from collections of hadith and relevant Islamic literature. The findings indicate that Islam, through the Prophet's hadiths, places great emphasis on environmental preservation, particularly through tree planting. The analyzed hadiths portray tree planting as a form of ongoing charity (ṣadaqah jāriyah), a social contribution, and a moral-spiritual responsibility of Muslims toward the Earth. Furthermore, reforestation is not merely seen as a physical act, but also as a form of worship rewarded by God. Planting trees is even encouraged during doomsday conditions, reflecting the profound ecological values within Islamic teachings. Thus, environmental conservation through reforestation in the hadith perspective embodies the values of tawḥīd (monotheism), khilāfah (stewardship), and amānah (trust) of humans as Earth’s caretakers. This study reaffirms that Islamic teachings are highly relevant in addressing today’s ecological crises.

Abstract

According to Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory, mental disorders occur due to conflicts between the id, ego, and superego that give rise to anxiety and abnormal behavior. At the Pamardi Raharjo Banjarnegara Social Service House, this conflict is diverted through a skills guidance program that aims to improve the independence and quality of life of Beneficiaries (PM). The program includes training in doormat crafts, salted egg making, paving blocks, and flannel crafts, each of which is guided by a dedicated mentor and followed by a stabilized PM. The activity of making mats aims to train motor skills and social interaction and produce products with selling value. The making of salted eggs not only teaches production skills, but also fosters confidence and economic independence. Paving block activities are more focused on motor training and cooperation between PMs even though they are not yet worth selling. Meanwhile, flannel handicrafts guided by Mbak Retno became a new activity that provided space for expression and creativity. All of these activities are designed to distract PM's passive behavior and equip them with useful practical skills after leaving the orphanage. Thus, skills-based approaches have proven to be effective in supporting the overall rehabilitation and empowerment process of PM.

Abstract

This study aims to describe in depth the professional management system of zakat, infaq, and shadaqah (ZIS) and hajj/umrah, which is the most effective form of da'wah bil hal in the modern era to rebuild the trust of the people gained from sharia values, namely transparency, accountability, and efficiency in managing public funds. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data was collected through literature study. The results show that modern ZIS institutions not only distribute aid (charity) but also build an ecosystem of economic justice (social justice), which is the essence of substantive Islamic da'wah. The development of Hajj/Umrah management is also a form of da'wah bil hal that is in progress but is not yet fully effective. Therefore, this improvement is not merely an administrative improvement, but the grounding of Islamic values that are rahmatan lil 'alamin through structured, accountable, and impactful social work.
