Abstract

This study aims to understand the meaning and role of the Roisan Kondangan tradition in strengthening social solidarity and preserving local wisdom values in the community of Depok, West Java. This tradition is a form of reciprocity in community events, involving contributions from residents as a manifestation of mutual aid and solidarity. This research is qualitative type. A qualitative approach was employed through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, with thematic analysis to uncover its social and symbolic meanings. Interviews were conducted with H. Muchtar, a Betawi traditional elder and Mrs. Jumiati, a PKK chairperson who doubles as an RT head in Limo, Depok. The research findings indicate that despite adjustments in the form of assistance, such as a shift from goods and cash to the use of digital technology, the Roisan Kondangan tradition remains relevant as a means of strengthening social bonds and fostering closer relationships among residents. The values of solidarity and empathy remain at the core of this practice, demonstrating adaptation to modern social dynamics without losing its collective essence. The main conclusion indicates that this tradition functions as a social medium that strengthens a sense of togetherness and collective awareness among the community, while also serving as an instrument for preserving local culture that remains relevant in the contemporary era. The implications of this research are significant in supporting efforts to preserve traditions and local wisdom as part of the cultural identity of the Depok community and Indonesian society in general.

Abstract

Career planning is an important thing that students need to prepare early on to face the increasingly competitive world of work. Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers have an important role in helping students design and prepare their careers. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by reviewing six relevant journals regarding BK teacher strategies in helping high school (SMA) students plan their careers. The purpose of this study is to describe effective strategies in career guidance services in schools. The results of the study indicate that various strategies, such as mapping students' career interests, using animated video media, career information services through digital media, and career skills training, can help students understand their potential, increase motivation, and determine the right career choices. By implementing appropriate and innovative strategies, BK teachers can be more optimal in assisting students in their career planning.

Abstract

This article explores the synergy between Islamic religious education and Javanese philosophy, specifically the values of tepa selira (empathy and tolerance) and cablaka (honesty and openness), as a strategy to foster the mental health of Generation Z students. Amid the rapid wave of digitalization and social pressures affecting today’s youth, mental health has become a critical issue that can no longer be overlooked. Generation Z, living in an instant and highly competitive environment, is vulnerable to stress, anxiety, and identity crises. Therefore, an educational approach is needed one that not only emphasizes cognitive religious aspects but also considers emotional and social balance. This study uses a qualitative approach through a literature review and critical analysis of sources related to Islamic education, educational psychology, and Javanese culture. The findings show that tepa selira cultivates students’ empathy, social awareness, and emotional regulation skills. Meanwhile, cablaka encourages the courage to express oneself honestly and supports psychological well-being. These two values align with Islamic teachings on noble character and inner balance, making them highly relevant for integration into the Islamic Religious Education curriculum. This integration allows students to develop mental health not only through spiritual rituals but also through cultural values. Javanese-philosophy-based Islamic religious education has the potential to become a contextual, humanistic educational model that addresses the essential aspects of youth development in the digital era.

Abstract

This study discusses the role of altruistic behavior in supporting career guidance programs for former prisoners at the Purwokerto Correctional Center. Former prisoners often face challenges in social reintegration, especially due to societal stigma and limited access to employment. Altruism-based career guidance programs aim to equip them with skills and psychosocial support to increase employment opportunities and economic independence. This study uses a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis methods. The results show that the role of volunteers and communities with social concerns is very important in reducing barriers to the reintegration of former prisoners. The support provided is not only in the form of job skills training, but also in psychosocial assistance that helps increase their motivation and self-confidence. Although this program has a positive impact, there are still various challenges such as limited funding, lack of community participation, and strong social stigma. Therefore, collaborative efforts are needed between the government, social organizations, and the community to create a more inclusive environment for former prisoners.
