Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Current Ratio (CR) on Return on Assets (ROA) in food and beverage companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2021–2023 period. Liquidity, measured by CR, is assumed to influence the firm’s ability to generate profits through the effective utilization of assets. The research applies a quantitative method with a descriptive verification approach. A purposive sampling technique was employed to select 44 companies from a total population of 72. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression with the support of EViews 12. The results reveal that CR has a negative but statistically insignificant effect on ROA, with a significance value of 0.1092, which is greater than the 0.05 threshold. This finding suggests that higher liquidity does not necessarily improve profitability, as excess current assets may hinder efficiency in generating returns. Overall, the study emphasizes the importance of managing liquidity effectively to achieve an optimal balance between solvency and profitability in the food and beverage sector.

Abstract

The increasing adoption of Flexible Working Arrangements (FWA) in public organizations has transformed human resource management practices, particularly in enhancing employee productivity while maintaining service quality. However, empirical evidence regarding the mechanisms through which FWA influences employee performance in the public sector remains limited. This study aims to examine the effects of Flexible Working Arrangements, Work Engagement, and Work-Life Balance on Work Performance, with Job Satisfaction serving as a mediating variable among employees of the West Java Provincial Transportation Agency. A quantitative research design with a cross-sectional survey approach was employed. Data were collected from 242 employees selected through stratified random sampling from a population of 613 employees. The research data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS to evaluate both the measurement and structural models. The findings indicate that the proposed SEM model achieved acceptable goodness-of-fit criteria, confirming its suitability for explaining the relationships among the studied variables. The results further reveal that Flexible Working Arrangements, Work Engagement, and Work-Life Balance each have positive and significant effects on Job Satisfaction. In addition, these variables directly and positively influence Work Performance. Job Satisfaction also has a significant positive effect on Work Performance and acts as a significant mediating variable in the relationships between Flexible Working Arrangements, Work Engagement, Work-Life Balance, and Work Performance. These findings suggest that improving employee performance requires an integrated human resource management strategy that combines flexible work policies, employee engagement initiatives, and work-life balance programs while simultaneously enhancing job satisfaction. This study contributes to the human resource management literature by providing empirical evidence from Indonesia's public sector and offers practical recommendations for policymakers in developing adaptive, employee-centered work policies to support sustainable bureaucratic transformation and improved public service performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of work discipline and workload on employee performance at PT. Kianjaya Machinery in Bandung City. The background of this study is based on significant fluctuations in employee absenteeism rates (peaking above 40% in April 2024) and the instability of the company's sales throughout 2024, which indicate problems with employee performance. The pre-survey showed that 62.23% of employees felt that their performance was not optimal, 60% showed a lack of work discipline (being late and postponing tasks), and 60% felt a high workload, both mentally and physically. Therefore, this study was conducted to describe the conditions of work discipline, workload, and employee performance, and to measure how much influence work discipline and workload, both partially and simultaneously, have on employee performance at PT. Kianjaya Machinery. The research method used is descriptive and verification analysis with a quantitative approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 42 employees of PT. Kianjaya Machinery. Data analysis techniques include multiple linear regression, correlation coefficient analysis, and determination coefficient analysis using IBM SPSS. The research findings show that work discipline and workload positively and significantly affect employee performance. The regression equation obtained is Y = 1.091 + 0.254 (X1) + 0.378 (X2). The relationship between work discipline and employee performance is classified as "strong" (0.618), while the relationship between workload and employee performance is classified as "very strong" (0.808). Simultaneously, work discipline and workload contribute 65.3% to employee performance, while the remaining 34.7% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study.
