Abstract

A village website is a site containing a collection of information in the form of writing, images, and video that can be accessed through the internet via an address known as a URL. A village website is important for Sahilan Darussalam Village because this village serves as the administrative center of Gunung Sahilan District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province, home to the cultural heritage site of the Gunung Sahilan Kingdom Palace, longstanding traditions such as Mandi Balimau Bakasai and Hari Raya Ka Gun, and economic potential from smallholder oil palm plantations and riverside tourism along the Kampar River, yet these assets are not widely known due to limited digital publication. This activity aims to develop a village website as an information medium to introduce the profile, history, traditions, and potential of Sahilan Darussalam Village to the public. The method used includes coordination with the village head and staff, determining the website's type and content structure, designing the website, filling in profile and potential content, and training on website usage. The resulting website contains sections for Home, About the Village, the Royal Palace, Traditions, Village Potential, Statistics, and Contact, and was successfully developed with a positive response from village staff, and is expected to serve as a promotional tool for the village's potential as well as a bridge of information between the village government and the community.

Abstract

Chicken crop is poultry offal that remains underutilized by chicken slaughtering businesses in Wonomerto District, while most local farmers continue to rely on increasingly costly chemical fertilizers. This community service activity aimed to socialize and mentor the application of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) made from chicken crop waste using eco-enzyme as a local bioactivator, involving 15 PkM student implementers and approximately 10 members of farmer groups across Wonomerto District, who took part through coordination with the local Agriculture Office using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. The success of the activity was assessed participatively by observing participants' active involvement at each stage, from material presentation to hands-on practice in producing eco-enzyme and LOF. The results show that the eco-enzyme and LOF fermentation process proceeded according to the taught procedure, marked by the characteristic color and aroma change of fermentation, although the final fertilizer product could not be fully evaluated as it required a further 14 to 21 days of fermentation. A more tangible indicator of success emerged from the initiative of several farmer group members who began independently practicing eco-enzyme and LOF production at their own homes after the activity ended. These findings confirm that integrating chicken crop waste with a self-produced eco-enzyme bioactivator within a PAR framework is a novel approach that not only reduces production costs but has also proven to encourage independent replication by farmers as an indicator of successful dissemination of sustainable waste management skills.

Abstract

Abstract

The availability of forage feed is unsustainable, particularly during the dry season, posing a major challenge for goat and sheep farmers in Oirata Barat Village, South Kisar District, Southwest Maluku Regency. This community service activity aimed to improve farmers’ knowledge and skills in producing fermented silage as an alternative feed during the dry season. The activity employed a participatory and educational approach through socialization, demonstrations, and hands-on silage production practices. The materials used included fresh forage (elephant grass, king grass, or corn stover), rice bran, molasses, and a fermentation starter (EM4). The production process consisted of chopping the forage, adjusting the moisture content to 60–70%, mixing the additional ingredients, compacting the mixture in plastic drums or buckets, sealing it under anaerobic conditions, and storing it for 21–30 days. The results showed that the participants acquired basic knowledge and practical skills in silage production and demonstrated high enthusiasm throughout the activity. Good-quality silage was characterized by a fresh acidic aroma, greenish-brown color, soft texture, absence of slime, and no visible mold. This activity represents an initial step toward introducing affordable and sustainable alternative feed technology to smallholder farmers. Further assistance is needed to ensure the independent adoption and continued application of the technology by farmers.
