Abstract

A creative and stimulating learning environment plays an important role in supporting early childhood development, particularly fine motor skills. One innovative learning environment that can be implemented is Kids Art Space, a specially designed art space that provides children with safe, enjoyable, and meaningful learning experiences through art activities. This study aims to describe the implementation of Kids Art Space as an innovative learning environment in supporting the development of fine motor skills in early childhood. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving early childhood participants who took part in Kids Art Space activities, with parents serving as companions and supporting informants. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and activity reflection. The results indicate that the implementation of Kids Art Space effectively enhances children’s fine motor skills through various art activities such as sticking, painting, color mixing, and tap-tap plastic activities that involve hand–eye coordination. In addition, Kids Art Space positively influences children’s focus, enthusiasm, independence, and self-confidence during the learning process. Therefore, Kids Art Space can be considered an innovative and effective learning environment that supports fine motor development in early childhood through creative and interactive learning experiences.

Abstract

Character building in early childhood plays a crucial role in shaping a generation that is well-mannered, disciplined, and accustomed to living a healthy lifestyle. One of the government’s initiatives in this effort is the national program 7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children, which includes the habits of waking up early, practicing worship, exercising, consuming nutritious food, enjoying learning, engaging in community life, and sleeping on time. This program is designed to instill positive values in children in a structured and continuous manner from an early age. The socialization activity carried out at TK Agropolitan, Bone Bolango Regency, aimed to help teachers and the community understand how to implement these seven habits in children’s daily routines. The activity began with initial observation, preparation of materials, and coordination with the school and village authorities, followed by the delivery of materials through panel presentations and discussions. The results show that applying these seven habits can strengthen children’s character development, particularly in independence, discipline, and social-emotional skills. However, implementation still faces several challenges, including limited parental support, insufficient facilities, and the negative impacts of technology. This socialization activity highlights the importance of collaboration among parents, teachers, and the surrounding community to ensure sustainable character development in children.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the promotional capabilities of early childhood education (PAUD) schools by utilizing the Kids Art Space facility as an educational medium featured in school flyers. Kids Art Space is a creative learning space that plays a crucial role in developing creativity, fine motor skills, and artistic expression in early childhood. However, this facility has not been optimally utilized as part of the educational institution's promotional strategy. The community service implementation method included initial observations of school facilities, assistance in designing promotional content, and simple training for PAUD teachers and administrators on creating informative and engaging flyers. The results showed that assistance in utilizing Kids Art Space in flyers improved PAUD administrators' understanding of educational promotional strategies and produced promotional media that concretely represented the quality of learning. Flyers featuring children's activities in the Kids Art Space were deemed more communicative and able to attract parents as potential users of educational services. Thus, this community service activity makes a significant contribution in helping PAUD schools optimize learning facilities as a promotional strategy that is not only commercial, but also educational and oriented towards child development.

Abstract

This activity aims to build collaboration with non-formal schools in providing educational information for parents through brochures. Information about the services, programs, and advantages of non-formal schools is often not optimally conveyed to parents, so simple but effective media is needed to broaden their understanding. In this activity, the team collaborated with non-formal schools to collect accurate data on the institution's profile, educational programs, service schedules, and other supporting information. The data was then compiled into an informative brochure that was designed to be attractive, concise, and easy to understand. The completed brochure was socialized and distributed directly to parents as a form of dissemination of educational information. The results of the activity showed that the use of the brochure was able to help parents gain a clearer understanding of available non-formal education services, thus becoming a consideration in supporting their children's learning needs. This activity also strengthened the collaborative relationship between program organizers and non-formal schools in supporting the provision of educational information for families.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to empower the community to have legal awareness as a preventive strategy in preventing specific crimes, both those that occur directly or through digital media. The phenomenon of violence or vigilantism, which is increasingly widespread in society, reflects a low understanding of the law, the dominance of social emotions, and distrust of formal law enforcement mechanisms. In the digital era, this behavior has also developed into online violence, such as the spread of shame, insults, and threats through social media, which has the potential to give rise to cybercrimes as regulated in the Electronic Information and Transactions Law. This activity was carried out through the Legal Awareness Family Socialization (Kadarkum) program in Baru Ulu Village, Balikpapan City, East Kalimantan, using legal counseling methods, participatory discussions, and educational approaches based on local social and cultural values. The targets of the activity were the general public, community leaders, and families as the smallest social unit in the formation of a legal culture. The results of the activity showed an increase in public understanding regarding the legal consequences of vigilantism, both in physical and digital contexts. Furthermore, the public is beginning to show a shift in attitudes toward more rational, legal-oriented problem-solving, and increased self-control in responding to social conflict. These activities contribute to building a legal culture that is more aware, preventative, and adaptive to legal challenges in the digital era.

Abstract

The Special Dental and Oral Hospital of South Sumatra Province has an official WordPress-based website (https://rsgigimulut.co.id/) that functions as a medium for information dissemination, communication, and public services to the community. This website is expected to provide accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible information for users. However, in practice, the website management staff still face challenges and limitations in independently managing and updating the content, resulting in the suboptimal utilization of the website’s potential. This community service activity aims to provide website management training for the staff by utilizing the WordPress Content Management Sistem (CMS) so that they are able to manage the website effectively and sustainably. The training was conducted on August 11, 2025, in the third-floor meeting room of the Special Dental and Oral Hospital of South Sumatra Province, involving two website management staff members. The implementation methods included lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practice covering the introduction to the WordPress interface, page layout customization, the addition of new posts and pages, menu creation and management, as well as tips on content management and website maintenance. The results of the training indicate an improvement in participants’ understanding and skills in independently managing the website, which has a positive impact on enhancing the quality of public information presentation and strengthening the hospital’s digital services.

Abstract

The Griya Kembang Putih (GKP) community faces a challenge in properly performing the shrouding procedure for corpses, as they lack the skills required to follow Islamic law. They have traditionally followed customs passed down by local community leaders without understanding their authenticity. To address this issue, a rukti (corpse care) service has been initiated, focusing on educating the GKP community about the correct shrouding process based on the Prophet's guidance. The service employs a combination of lectures and hands-on methods to deliver knowledge. The outcome of this service is that the community now understands the proper shrouding procedure, although ongoing learning is still needed. They are now equipped to differentiate between the traditional practices they once followed and the practices that align with Islamic teachings as conveyed by the Prophet Muhammad SAW. The shrouding procedure is presented step by step, making it easier for the community to comprehend and apply the correct methods when handling a deceased individual. The procedure begins by setting up a table for the body, placing seven cloth ropes, and preparing three pieces of shroud for men and five pieces for women. The body is then placed on the shroud, which is folded from right to left and left to right, with ropes tied around each part of the covered body. As a result, the GKP community is now capable of independently performing shrouding procedures in line with Shari'a law, guided by the Prophet's teachings, rather than adhering to ancestral customs.
