Abstract

As education becomes increasingly interlaced with digital platforms and artificial  intelligence, teachers are expected to uphold professional ethics while navigating complex online environments. This study investigates the convergence of digital behavior and ethical conduct among teachers across generational lines, offering timely insights into how educators adapt to evolving digital norms. Anchored in the Philippine Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers, the research examines whether generational affiliation moderates the relationship between teachers' digital behavior, such as social media use, data privacy, communication etiquette, and technology integration, and their ethical conduct in a contemporary age. Utilizing a quantitative correlational design, data were collected from 453 teachers representing Baby Boomers, Generation X, Y, and Z across public and private institutions in Southern Luzon. Results reveal strong digital and ethical engagement among teachers, with younger generations demonstrating higher competence in social media use, data protection, and digital-age paren-learner interactions. A vigorous positive correlation was found between digital and ethical behavior of teachers. However, generational affiliation did not significantly moderate this relatioship. These findings suggest that ethical professionalism in the digital age transcends age groups when digital fluency is cultivated. This study contributes to the global conversation on teacher readiness in the AI era by highlighting the importance of integrated digital ethics training, inclusive of all generations. Implications call for AI-aware teacher education programs, institutional policies supporting ethical digital conduct, and intergenerational mentoring models. As artificial intelligence reshapes educational spaces, ensuring ethical alignment in digital behavior remains essential to sustaining professionalism in teacher education.
