Abstract

Abstract

This study analyzes the factors influencing disparities in Regional Own-Source Revenue (PAD) across provinces in Java Island for the period 2013–2024. Independent variables include Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR), and population size. Using a panel data regression approach with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM), the study finds that GRDP and LFPR have a significant positive effect on PAD, while population size shows no significant impact. These findings highlight the crucial role of economic growth and active workforce participation in strengthening local fiscal capacity. Furthermore, revenue disparities arise due to differences in economic productivity, industrial structure, and workforce quality across provinces.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of Education, Number of Industries, and Economic Growth on the Open Unemployment Rate in Indonesia. The method applied is a quantitative approach by using secondary data from the Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS). The data obtained were then processed through multiple linear regression analysis with the help of SPSS version 25 software to evaluate the partial and simultaneous effects of each variable. The results of the study indicate that partially: (1) education has a significant and negative impact on the open unemployment rate; (2) the number of industries shows a significant and positive effect; while (3) economic growth has no effect on the open unemployment rate in Indonesia. Simultaneously, all of these variables together have a significant effect on the open unemployment rate in Indonesia. The findings of this study are expected to be used as a reference for the central government in designing policies that improve public welfare.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of financial technology and QRIS-based digital transaction processes on business sustainability, with customer satisfaction serving as a mediating variable. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected from 100 respondents and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software. The results indicate that financial technology and QRIS-based digital transactions significantly influence customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction shows the strongest effect on business sustainability. Moreover, customer satisfaction significantly mediates the relationship between digital financial technology, transaction processes, and business sustainability. In conclusion, the sustainability of car salon businesses is strongly determined by customer satisfaction achieved through effective digital financial technology implementation. This study introduces a sector-specific empirical model that explains how customer satisfaction mediates the relationship between FinTech (QRIS) adoption and business sustainability in the car salon industry in Jakarta. Unlike prior MSME-focused studies, it provides new evidence from a niche service sector using PLS-SEM to reveal the dominant indirect effect of digital transactions on long-term business continuity.

Abstract

Urban–rural disparities in poverty remain a persistent challenge despite significant global progress in poverty reduction. Conventional income based measures often fail to capture the multiple and overlapping deprivations experienced by households, particularly in rural areas. This study aims to examine the magnitude, structure, and determinants of urban–rural disparities in multidimensional poverty using the global Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI). Employing a cross-country econometric research design, the study integrates national-level and subnational-level MPI data covering more than 100 countries and approximately 1,000 regions. The empirical analysis combines descriptive techniques, ordinary least squares (OLS) regression, and linear mixed-effects modeling to capture both between-country and within-country variations in multidimensional poverty. The results reveal substantial and unevenly distributed urban–rural MPI gaps across countries, with particularly pronounced disparities observed in several Sub-Saharan African economies. Regression findings indicate that differences in poverty incidence, measured through the headcount ratio gap, are the dominant driver of the urban–rural MPI gap, while differences in deprivation intensity play a statistically significant but secondary role. The multilevel analysis further demonstrates a strong and near-proportional transmission of national-level multidimensional poverty to regional outcomes, underscoring the importance of national development trajectories in shaping subnational poverty patterns. The study concludes that urban–rural disparities in multidimensional poverty are primarily driven by unequal access to basic services and opportunities rather than solely by the depth of deprivation. These findings highlight the need for multidimensional and multi-level policy interventions that simultaneously reduce poverty incidence and address overlapping deprivations, particularly in rural areas, to achieve inclusive and balanced development

Abstract

Income inequality remains a development issue in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province, despite relatively good economic growth and human resource quality. This study aims to analyze the influence of economic growth, average years of schooling, and the labor force participation rate (TPAK) on income inequality for the period 2014–2023. The study used a quantitative approach with panel data regression across five regencies/cities in Yogyakarta Special Region. The results show that average years of schooling significantly influence income inequality, while economic growth and TPAK do not. Simultaneously, all three variables influence income inequality. These findings indicate that educational improvement and economic growth in the Special Region of Yogyakarta are not fully inclusive, necessitating policies that are more oriented toward regional equity.
