Abstract

This reasearch assesses the extent to which Asset Turnover and Debt to Equity Ratio affects on the company's financial performance (ROA) through company size as a moderation variable. This study uses a quantitative approach with the formulation of associative problems. The population in this study includes all retail companies in Southeast Asia contained in the OSIRIS financial database for the 2024 period, with data collection techniques in the form of documentation obtained from the OSIRIS financial database. The analysis method used was moderation regression analysis. The results of the study show that Asset Turnover has a significant positive effect on Return on Asset, in contrast to Debt to Equity Ratio which has no effect on Return on Asset. Furthermore, firm size cannot moderate between Asset Turnover and Return on Asset, this is the same as the result between Debt to Equity Ratio and Return on Asset which shows that firm size cannot moderate between the two variables. These findings show that asset efficiency is an important factor in increasing the profitability of the retail sector, while capital structure and company scale are not the main guarantees of the financial performance of the retail sector in ASEAN. The implication of this study is that retail sector management should prioritize optimizing asset turnover rather than focusing too much on debt and equity composition.

Abstract

Organizations face mounting pressure to integrate sustainability into core operations, yet mechanisms translating Green Human Resource Management (GHRM), green training, and green leadership into sustainable employee performance remain incompletely understood. This systematic literature review (SLR), following PRISMA 2020 and SPAR-4-SLR guidelines, synthesized 68 empirical studies from 908 initial records (January 2015–December 2025) to examine green leadership's mediating role. Four pivotal findings emerged: (1) green leadership serves as a key mediator, explaining an additional 15–25% of variance, between GHRM practices and sustainable employee performance; (2) multiple parallel and sequential mediating pathways operate simultaneously, including green psychological climate, employee green behavior, work engagement, environmental commitment, and green innovation behavior; (3) GHRM practice effectiveness is context-contingent, with green training showing the strongest effects (r = .40–.55); and (4) organizational culture, leadership authenticity, employee environmental values, and industry sensitivity act as critical boundary conditions. Theoretically, the review integrates five frameworks (AMO, SET, RBV, SDT, Dynamic Capability Theory) into a comprehensive multilevel model. Practically, findings provide: (1) strategic GHRM implementation sequencing, (2) six evidence-based authenticity criteria, (3) six behavioral dimensions for green leadership effectiveness, and (4) sector-specific guidance. Critical gaps include limited longitudinal evidence (<15% of literature), insufficient multilevel integration, geographic concentration in Asia/Middle East, and inadequate investigation of GHRM's dark side effects.

Abstract

The growth of digital payments is driving the transformation of transaction systems among micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the digital age. The objective of this study is to analyze the role of digital payments in improving financial performance. This study employs a quantitative method analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Data were collected via an online questionnaire. This study involved 350 respondents comprising MSMEs using digital payments across Indonesia. The results indicate that digital payments have a positive impact on the financial performance of MSMEs. This is attributed to the ease, utility, financial benefits, and satisfaction derived from using digital payments. This study is expected to contribute to expanding the application of TAM, ISSM, and ECT in the context of technology acceptance, particularly regarding digital payments that influence the financial performance of SMEs. Practically, the results of this study are also expected to serve as a basis for consideration and provide insights to enhance technology acceptance among SMEs.

Abstract

This study focuses on demonstrating the role of Electronic Word of Mouth (E-WOM) and Product Quality in shaping Customer Loyalty through Purchasing Decisions among the millennial generation of Ning Bolen products in Jember Regency. The approach used in this study is a quantitative approach with the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method through SmartPLS 4.0 software. The research sample was 120 millennial generation respondents (aged 29–44 years) who had purchased Ning Bolen products at least twice, selected using a purposive sampling technique. In this study, there is an output produced, namely E-WOM and Product Quality have a positive and significant effect on Purchasing Decisions. In addition, E-WOM, Product Quality, and Purchasing Decisions also have a positive and significant effect on Customer Loyalty. Purchasing Decisions are proven to act as a partial mediator in the relationship between Product Quality and Customer Loyalty, but do not mediate the relationship between E-WOM and Loyalty (direct effect only). This research model shows good R² and Q² values and meets the validity and reliability requirements. This research provides implications for culinary MSMEs to consistently improve product quality and utilize E-WOM through digital platforms to strengthen the loyalty of millennial generation consumers.

Abstract

The palm oil industry is one of the main pillars of the economy in Riau Province, particularly in Rokan Hilir Regency, where Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) plantation businesses play a strategic role in regional economic growth and employment. However, the sustainability of these businesses is increasingly threatened by global commodity price volatility, tightening environmental regulations, and intensifying market competition, all of which demand a high level of managerial competence from business actors. This study aims to analyze the effect of management efficiency on the business sustainability of FFB plantations in Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province. A causal associative quantitative approach was employed, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to plantation managers and business owners in the region. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. The results reveal that management efficiency, measured through indicators of planning, organizing, implementation, and supervision, achieves an overall mean score of 3.84, categorized as good, while business sustainability reaches a mean score of 3.965, reflecting a stable condition. Hypothesis testing yields a regression coefficient of 0.782, a t-value of 12.450, and a significance value of 0.000, confirming a positive and statistically significant effect. The coefficient of determination indicates that 68.4% of the variation in business sustainability is explained by management efficiency. These findings affirm that strengthening managerial capacity is essential to ensuring the long-term viability and competitiveness of FFB plantation businesses in the region.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of zakat distribution, inflation, and economic growth on poverty rates in Indonesia during the 2014–2024 period from an Islamic economic perspective. The background of this study is based on the trend of declining national poverty, which was temporarily disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the importance of zakat as an instrument for the equitable distribution of wealth. The research method employs a quantitative approach using secondary data from Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (BAZNAS), Bank Indonesi (BI), and Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS), analyzed via multiple linear regression using E-Views 10 software. The results indicate that zakat distribution has a negative and significant effect on poverty levels, inflation has a positive and significant effect, while economic growth has a negative and significant effect. Simultaneously, these three variables have a significant effect on the poverty rate with a calculated F-value of 6.97, which is greater than the critical F-value of 4.35 at α = 0.05, and an F-statistic probability value of 0.016 < 0.05. The study’s conclusion confirms that targeted productive zakat, inflation control, and inclusive economic growth are key factors in poverty alleviation in accordance with the principles of maqashid syariah.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Human Development Index (HDI) and Open Unemployment Rate on economic growth in Indonesia during 2015–2025 from the perspective of Islamic economics. The background highlights Indonesia’s relatively stable economic growth around 5% before the pandemic, the contraction in 2020, and challenges related to human resource quality and employment. The research employs a quantitative approach using secondary data from the Central Bureau of Statistics, analyzed through multiple linear regression with E-Views 10 software. The findings reveal that HDI has a negative effect on economic growth, while TPT has a negative and significant effect. Simultaneously, both variables significantly influence economic growth, with an F-statistic value of 8.54 greater than the F-table value of 4.46 at α = 0.05, and a probability of 0.022 < 0.05. The determination coefficient of 0.68 indicates that HDI and TPT explain 68% of the variation in economic growth. The study concludes that improving human development quality and controlling open unemployment are crucial factors in fostering sustainable economic growth in line with maqashid sharia principles.
