Abstract

Maju Jaya is one of the palm fiber broom producers in Medan Senembah village, Tanjung Morawa Subdistrict, Deli Serdang District. The number of palm fiber broom producers in the Medan Senembah village with business locations that are close to each other makes business competition more competitive between palm fiber broom producers. One effort to win market competition is to reduce production costs. Value engineering method is one of the methods used to save production costs by applying to the improvement of the value, performance and costs of palm fiber broom products, which consist of durability, strength, aesthetics, cost and comfort criteria. Value engineering work plan consists of five phases, namely information phase, creative phase, analysis phase, development phase and recommendation phase. The zero-one matrix method is applied in the analysis phase to help determine the total performance and value of alternative proposals that are in accordance with the wishes of consumers. The results showed that the chosen alternative was the first alternative, that the broom sticks functioned directly as hangers and broom stems were painted with rod coloring with a performance of 39.33399, a value of 1.66 and a cost savings of Rp. 240.56, - or 2.1% each palm fiber broom unit, with the demand for palm fiber broom reaching 73,200 each year, the amount of savings obtained is Rp. 17,608,992 each year.

Abstract

Ud.Kellan Shoes be on strategy SO (aggressive), that is strategy to use the power that is owned to take advantage of the opportunities that exist, this is obtained based on the result of data processing using swot analysis shows that the business development strategy . Then the right strategy to apply to Ud.Kellan Shoes is creativity in making the model improved so that the more diverse forms and models, utilize market potential in fostering good relationships with customers, and collaborating with the government in facilitating new distribution channels. Based on the results of the identification of consumer needs of shoe products Ud.Kellan Shoes then attribute-atributes desired by consumers in business development Ud.Kellan Shoes is the price, of quality, models, and colors.

Abstract

Keju Kesu competition that demands professional management performance and full knowledge of its business in order to evaluate and determine competitive strategies. This newly established 1 year company needs to develop a better business strategy. This research is meant to know a new design of business model as a business development strategy in Keju Kesu with business model canvas approach. Using qualitative method by doing interview, while questionnaire is used to formulate the strategy, then using businedd model canvas to analyze which every building block is also being analyzed by Matrix IFE & EFE, Matrix IE, Matrix SWOT, and blue ocean strategy that is combined with business model canvas. Research's result indicates that recent business model of Keju Kesu is Hold and Mantain-stage reviewed from ascpects of business model canvas which analyzed by Matrix IFE and Matrix EFE that produced Matrix IE at Keju Kesu on kuadran V, proper alternative strategy to be used on this kuadran is market penetration strategy and product development. Matrix SWOT and blue ocean strategy analysis results are that Jaya Bakery has to read the market progress more and place the product by maximizing media, internet, social media. Adding value to a product, creating a continuous relation with customer, action key is to involve technology, placing and upgrading competen human resources and product inovation that maintain low price.

Abstract

UD. Rezeki baru is a companies that works in the bag precisely making the field in Menteng VII Medan, North Sumatra. How ever, it has recently encontered a raw material stock problem. Because of it their production rate has decrecored and disadvantages are created due to last minute raw material purchasing. This research is to fine out the amount of raw material at UD. Rezeki baru has been efficient or not when compered using min-max stock method . Based on calculatiing result of raw material inventory in UD. Rezekibaru based on the min-max stock method is not appropriate. Because in some periods there is a shortage of raw materials in the rate of re-ordering on the raw material rope in 2015 amounted to -233.38 meters, lapse of 2016 -233.38 meters and 2016 ruislithing of -1,680 dozen.

Abstract

Kebutuhan beton mutu tinggi sangat dibutuhkan pada saat ini, terbukti dari pembangunan gedung-gedung berlantai banyak serta gedung dengan massa bangunan yang besar. Bersinergi akan hal tesebut, pekembangan dari teknologi beton mutu tinggi pu sangat di butuhkan. Material penyusun beton mutu tinggi seperti semen, agregat halus, agregat kasar serta air yang merupakan material-material pilihan. Tetapi, penggunaan material agregat kasa dan halus yang diambil secara tidak terkontrol dapat menyebabkan kerusakan alam, khususnya daerah aliran sungai. Menjawab tantangan tersebut, maka dibuat penelitian yang menggunakan material alternatif untuk menggantikan material agregat. Pasir pozzolan yang banyak mengandung silika digunakan untuk menggantikan agregat halus pada pembuatan beton mutu tinggi. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggatikan agregat halus dengan menggunakan pasir pozzolan, dengan komposisi 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% dan 50% dari total berat agregat. Campuran beton direncakan dapat menahan beban sampai 70 MPa dengan rincian pemakaian seperti berikut; semen sebanyak 600 kg/m3; Superplasticizer yang digunakan adalaah viscocrete 10. Dari hasil penelitian didapat bahwa pemakaian substitusi pasir pozzolan sebagai agregat halus sebanyak 10% meningkatkan nilai kuat tekan beton mutu tinggi.

Abstract

Perancangan produk didasari dari konsep dan ide – ide perancangnya, ide – ide tersebut dibuat menjadi nyata melalui produk yang lebih efektif dan efisien. Perancangan dan pengembanga produk dilakukan untuk mempermudah proses kerja yang dilakukan, mengurangi resiko kerja yang dilakukan, dan membuat pekerjaan menjadi lebih efektif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah membuat produk yang inovatif dari produk yang sudah ada sebelumnya dalam hal pengirisan bawang dan bahan – bahan masakan lainnya didunia industri pangan maupun dikalangan masyarakat. Alat pengiris bawang otomatis ini dirancang dari keluhan masyarakat umum guna mengurangi resiko – resiko buruk yang terjadi saat proses pemotongan dan pengirisan bahan makanan dilakukan. Data yang didapat dan digunakan pada penelitian ini didapat dari penyebaran kuisoner secara langsung kepada Ibu Rumah Tangga dan masyarakat umum yang berada di kota Medan Sumatera Utara. Pada penelitian ini QFD digunakan dalam proses perencanaan dan pengembangan produk untuk menetapkan spesifikasi kebutuhan dan keinginan konsumen, serta mengevaluasi secara sistematis kapabilitas suatu produk atau jasa dalam memenuhi kebutuhan dan keinginan konsumen. Dengan metode QFD, akan dibandingkan alat pengiris bawang otomatis dengan alat pengiris bawang yang telah ada dan beredar dimasyarakat. Setelah perhitungan dilakukan maka dapat di rancang dan diproduksi alat pengiris bawang otomatis yang dapat mempermudah proses pekerjaan serta membuat pekerjaan lebih efektif dan efisien.

Abstract

Sei-sijenggi Village is a center for small brick-making industries in Perbaungan District, one of which is CV. Rahmad. The brick production process and material handling at CV. Rahmad is still manually, which relies on human power. In the brick making section at the drying station, workers often carry out brick-making activities by bending and twisting with a very high repetition frequency. In addition, work activities are dominated by standing work attitudes. The purpose of this study was to analyze the manual material handling (MMH) work posture at risk of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) using the Rapid Entire Body Aassessment (REBA) method and provide suggestions for improvement in work posture. Data collection is carried out by making observations directly taking the form of photos and videos of workers and evaluating work postures which include the attitude of the neck, back, legs, upper arms, forearms, wrists, workload weight, coupling factors or handrails using the Rapid Entire method Body Aassessment (REBA) with the help of ergofellow software. The results of this study show that there are workplaces at risk of complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). From the research it can be concluded that the manual material handling (MMH) work posture for workers in the drying station preparation section must be repaired as soon as possible, so that they capable to conduct job evaluations, improve methods, systems and ways of working and the workers can work with high performance

Abstract

Business development strategy is a way of the organization achieves its objectives, according to opportunities and threats faced by the external environment and internal resources and capabilities of an organization. This research aims to explain the internal factors (strength-weakness) and external factors (opportunities-threats) on the business UD. Mulia Kasih Wood, so that the society knows the strategy of development on the business by using SWOT and AHP analysis method. The internal and external factors of business UD. Mulia Kasih Wood's is: From SWOT analysis, internal factor which is strength (Strengths / S) has bigger value than weakness (Weakness / W) is 1.74> 0.66. Then, UD.Mulia Kasih Wood's love has a higher power than the weakness factor to do business development strategy. Then the external factor which is opportunity (Opportunities / O) has bigger value than Threats (T) that is 1.59> 0.61. Thus UD.Mulia Kasih Wood's love has a higher chance compared to the threat factor to do business development strategy From the results of AHP analysis can be concluded that the strategy criteria applied to the development of business UD. Mulia Kasih Wood: Strengths Opportunities is Maximizes strength and opportunity, Strengths Threats is Maximizes power and minimizes threats, Weakness Opportunities is Minimizes weaknesses and maximizes opportunities, Weakness Threath is Minimizes weaknesses and threats.

Abstract

The performance of container loading and unloading equipment may affect the performance of service system in internasional container barrier containers. The number of container and high inter arrival time with a small amount of equipment will cause in certain processes. The analysis of the system is done by simulation method wich can give an idea of the performance of container loading and unloading equipment at Belawan Internasional Container (BICT) with quickly and can predict system capability in providing service. The output produced is showing the performance of container terminal system that is produced service system is during 42,3284 hours and servive time on simulation of import system is for 28, 7468 hours. From the output of the performance of the system can be evaluated, that can be know in the export of queue in the process of preparation of containers in Container yards

Abstract

Pengembangan sektor perikanan bertujuan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan protein hewani serta menambah lapangan pekerjaan bagi masyarakat. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan yaitu pada pembuatan terasi. Terasi banyak dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan tambahan makanan serta menjadi oleh-oleh khas dari Langsa. Tetapi dikarenakan minimnya pengetahuan konsumen terhadap kualitas terasi banyak menjadi kendala untuk menentukan kualitas dari terasi. Penentuan kualitas terasi saat ini dilakukan dengan menentukan secara manual yaitu dengan mengamati secara langsung terasi. Pengamatan yang dilakukan dapat berupa dengan cara melihat jenis, tekstur, warna dan juga berdasarkan aromanya. Oleh karena itu pada penelitian ini dibuat sistem identifikasi kualitas terasi berdasarkan warna dengan menggunakan metode radial basis function neural network melalui fitur warna yang digunakan yaitu nilai R,G,B dan nilai H,S,V serta identifikasi dengan menggukan metode radial basis function neural network dengan menggunakan variasi pada nilai spread. Tingkat akurasi yang didapatkan pada penelitian ini dengan nilai spread yang digunakan yaitu 1 (satu) adalah 92,5%.
