Abstract

Background: Increased oxygen reliance within the first 24 hours, no illness symptoms, typical radiological findings with lower air content, pulmonary reticulogranular pattern, and air bronchogram are all associated with respiratory distress syndrome, or RDS. Body weight and gestational age have an inverse relationship with the occurrence of RDS. RDS affects 15–30% of newborns born between 32 and 36 weeks and 60–80% of babies born less than 28 weeks. Although it is uncommon, RDS can develop after 36 weeks or term; alternative diagnosis should be explored. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of kinesthetic tactile stimulation therapy and murrotalAl Quran therapy in babies diagnosed with respiratory distress syndrome. Method: This type of research is descriptive research using a case study method approach. Results: The results of the nursing intervention that was carried out in the form of giving kinesthetic tactile stimulation therapy to babies for 5 consecutive days which were carried out for 20 minutes showed that there were changes in oxygen saturation, pulse and breathing became more stable than before the intervention was given.

Abstract

A complication of diabetes that has been going on for a long time and spreads to the bones is called Diabetic Foot Osteomyelitis (DFO). The condition Diabetic Foot Osteomyelitis is associated with advanced peripheral neuropathy accompanied by peripheral arterial disease and foot deformity. The most serious complication of Diabetic Foot Osteomyelitis is amputation of the wound area. The non-operative action that can be carried out is wound care using the Conservative Sharp Wound Debridement (CSWD) technique by removing necrotic tissue, both bone and soft tissue that is infected. The aim of the study was to analyze the results of modern wound care using the CSWD technique in Diabetic Foot Osteomyelitis. The research method uses interviews and observation. The sample used was 1 client Mr. T who experienced Diabetic Foot Osteomyelitis using the Bates-Jensen Wound Assessment Tools (BWAT) wound assessment instrument. The results of this research are that the use of CSWD in debridement is effective in helping the wound healing process, this is proven by a decrease in the BWAT score from 34 to 28.. The conclusion of this study is that the use of the CSWD technique is effective in reducing necrotic tissue and bone that has experienced infection so that it can help the wound healing process.

Abstract

The most serious and chronic mental disorder is schizophrenia. Schizophrenia sufferers often have limitations that greatly affect the performance of daily activities, one of which is carrying out self-care. Increasing independence from self-care deficit problems can be overcome with non-pharmacological management, one of which is occupational therapy. Occupational therapy intervenes in limitations by seeking greater autonomy of the patient through certain activities. The aim of the case study is to determine the effect of occupational therapy on the patient's level of independence in the intensive care unit. The method used is a case study with a nursing care approach. A case study was conducted at a mental hospital in 2024 involving a 56 year old patient. The instrument used was the Activity of Daily Living questionnaire. Occupational therapy was carried out for 12 days. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in the level of independence in carrying out self-care from a score of 10 to 17 and a decrease in signs of self-care deficit symptoms in patients from 9 to 2. Based on the results, it can be concluded that occupational therapy can increase the level of independence and reduce signs of deficit symptoms patient self-care.

Abstract

Fracture is one of the causes of disability caused by trauma due to an accident. Fractures can be caused by direct trauma, for example a collision or blow that results in a broken bone. Splinting is an action carried out as first aid for musculoskeletal injuries so that the injured body part can rest, avoid shifting of the injured bone and reduce the level of pain. By using a splint, the skeletal muscles that are experiencing spasm will slowly relax, thereby reducing the level of pain and holding parts of the body from shifting and reducing pain. To determine the application of splint therapy to reduce the pain level of femur fracture patients in IGD at RSUD Tidar Magelang. The research method used a case report with the nursing intervention of providing splints on the pain level of fracture patients. Conducted 3 observations every 30 minutes on the patient Mr. M, 27 years old, who was involved in a traffic accident. From the results of the research, a nursing intervention was carried out, namely by providing a splint dressing for 3 observations every 30 minutes. The result was that there was a decrease in the level of pain before and after the splint dressing. Based on research conducted with Mr. Therefore, the reduction in pain levels in femur fracture patients with splint dressing in the emergency room at Tidar Hospital Magelang can be concluded that splint therapy has an effect on the pain level of fracture patients by reducing the level of the pain scale.

Abstract

Chronic Kidney Failure (CKD) is a kidney disease caused by damage or dysfunction in the kidneys. A common problem in CKD sufferers is excess fluid which causes swelling in the extremities (edema). The causes of edema in CKD patients are failure to comply with fluid restrictions, lack of dietary control, fluid and sodium retention. One of the independent nursing interventions that is very effective for treating edema is ankle pump exercise therapy with leg elevation at 30 ̊. The case study was carried out in the hemodialysis unit at Dr. Tjitrowardojo Purworejo. The aim of the study was to identify the effect of providing ankle pump exercise therapy and 30° leg elevation intervention to reduce edema in CKD patients. The research design used is a descriptive method with a case study approach. The subjects of this case study are CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis who experience edema and patients who have signed an informed consent form. The instrument used is a monitoring sheet for the degree of edema. The intervention given in this case study was ankle pump exercise therapy and 30° leg elevation which was carried out for 7 minutes in 3 meetings over 7 days. Evaluation was carried out on days 1, 4, 8. The results showed that the degree of edema on the first day was grade III (5mm), on the second day it was grade II (4mm), on the third day it was grade I (2mm). Based on the results of the case study, it can be concluded that the application of ankle pump exercise and 30° elevation has proven effective in reducing the degree of edema in chronic kidney failure, so that this independent nursing intervention can be carried out by nurses for CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis.
