Abstract

This study examines the epistemological crisis in modern science from an Islamic perspective by employing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach based on the PRISMA framework. The study is motivated by the growing concern that modern scientific paradigms tend to emphasize empirical and instrumental dimensions of knowledge while marginalizing ethical, metaphysical, and spiritual aspects. Data were collected from reputable databases, including Publis or Peris, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, covering publications from 2020 to 2025, resulting in 35 selected articles after a rigorous screening process. The findings reveal four major themes: (1) critiques of dominant scientific paradigms, (2) Islamic epistemology as an integrative framework, (3) epistemological tensions in educational practices, and (4) the broader implications of epistemological imbalance in contemporary life. The study shows that while Islamic epistemology offers a conceptually robust and integrative framework based on revelation, reason, and moral values, its development remains largely normative and lacks operational models in practice. Therefore, this study highlights the need for a more dialogical and integrative approach that bridges modern scientific methodologies with ethical-spiritual dimensions. The findings contribute to the development of a more balanced epistemological framework and provide a foundation for future research, particularly in the context of education and knowledge reconstruction.

Abstract

This study examines the internalization of moderate Islamic values within the educational system as a strategic effort to shape students’ religious, tolerant, and nationalist character amid challenges of moral degradation and radicalism. The research aims to analyze the implementation of Ahlussunnah wal Jama’ah (Aswaja) An-Nahdliyah values in educational management, describe their role in strengthening student character, and explore the relevance of KH. Wahid Hasyim’s educational thought in this context. A qualitative field research approach was employed at Madrasah Aliyah Ma’arif NU 5 Sekampung, East Lampung. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings reveal that Aswaja values are systematically integrated into planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation processes, supported by religious habituation, contextual learning, and teacher role modeling. These practices contribute significantly to the development of students’ moderate, tolerant, balanced, and patriotic character. The study concludes that Aswaja-based educational management, aligned with Wahid Hasyim’s integrative and moral-oriented thought, offers a relevant and contextual model for character education in contemporary Islamic schooling.

Abstract

The decline in student character, such as low discipline, responsibility, and religious attitudes, is a significant issue in education. One way to foster character building is through the implementation of religious culture within Islamic boarding schools (Islamic boarding schools). This study aims to analyze the implementation of religious culture as a strategy for developing student character at the Al-Zahra Modern Islamic Boarding School in Bireuen. This study employed a qualitative method with a field study approach. The research informants consisted of the head of the Islamic boarding school, teachers, caretakers, and students. Data collection techniques included interviews, observation, and documentation, while data analysis utilized data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that religious culture is implemented through the practice of daily worship, scheduled religious activities, educators' role models, and enforcement of Islamic boarding school regulations. Supporting factors include educator commitment, a religious environment, worship facilities, and parental cooperation. Inhibiting factors include differences in parental understanding, the diversity of student characters, and the influence of the environment outside the Islamic boarding school. The study concludes that the consistent implementation of religious culture can foster religious character, discipline, responsibility, and morals in students. This research contributes to the development of character education based on religious culture in modern Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of students's interest and family support on the selection of higher education institutions, with pesantren culture ad an intervening variable. This research employs a quantitative approach using the structural equation modeling partial least squares (SEM-PLS) method. The sample consists of 51 twelfth-grade students at MAS AL-Muslimun Lhoksukon, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using SEM-PLS to examine both direct and indirect relationships among variables. The result indicate that students' interests and family support have a positive and significant effect on pesantren culture. However, students' interest, family support, and pesantren culture do not have a significant effect on the selection of higher education institutions. furthermore, pesantren culture is not proven to mediate the relationship bertween students' interest and family support play a more significant role in shaping pesantren culture than in directly influencing higher education choices. therefore, further research is recomended to consider other factors such as economic conditions, acces to information, and career prospects in order to better understand the decision-making process in selecting higher education institutions.

Abstract

Globalization has brought about significant changes in social, cultural, and educational aspects, impacting the implementation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This study aims to analyze the new paradigm of Islamic Religious Education in facing the challenges of globalization through an integrative and transformative approach. The research method used is library research by analyzing various scientific sources in the form of books, journals, and documents related to Islamic education and globalization. The results show that Islamic Religious Education needs to transform from a conventional approach to learning that integrates Islamic values with developments in science and technology. This new paradigm emphasizes character building, critical thinking skills, creativity, digital literacy, and the development of student competencies so they can adapt to changing times without abandoning Islamic values. The main challenges identified include teacher resistance to changes in learning methods, limited educational facilities and resources, especially in remote areas, and parents' low understanding of the new educational paradigm. Furthermore, the assessment system, which is still oriented towards memorization, poses a challenge to the implementation of holistic learning. Efforts to address these problems include ongoing teacher training and professional development, the provision of equitable educational facilities and infrastructure, the development of a technology-based contextual curriculum, and increased collaboration between schools, the government, parents, and the community through intensive outreach and education. Thus, the new paradigm of Islamic Religious Education is expected to create a generation that is faithful, virtuous, adaptive, and able to compete in the era of globalization.

Abstract

The persistent fluctuation of global natural rubber prices and associated non-market risks continue to challenge the sustainability and income stability of rubber farmers, particularly in Desa Salam Babaris, Tapin Regency. This economic uncertainty compels farmers to adopt adaptive strategies rooted not only in material profit but also in principles of ethics and justice. This study aims to analyze the diversification and adaptation strategies employed by rubber farmers in response to price shocks, specifically from the perspective of Sharia Economic principles. The research utilizes a qualitative approach with a case study method, gathering data through in-depth interviews, and employing an optimization analysis framework based on Sharia diversification theory. The findings indicate that farmers effectively employ crop diversification (such as rice and vegetables) as an income buffer and utilize direct marketing for cost efficiency. These strategies are strongly supported by robust Social Capital within Farmers Groups (Poktan), which serves as a mechanism for ta'awun (mutual help) and proactive agronomic adaptation against environmental risks. These practices enhance the farmers' economic resilience and are substantially aligned with the principles of justice ('adl) and honesty (shiddiq). We conclude that this integrated adaptation model is effective in achieving sustainable economic well-being and contributes a valuable reference for developing just, sustainable, and ethics-based agricultural policies.

Abstract

The dynamics of the modern economy require Islamic financial institutions, such as Pegadaian Syariah, to integrate ethical and fairness principles into their marketing strategies in order to address issues of uncertainty (gharar) and conventional profit maximization. This research is urgent due to the challenges in developing market segmentation that is in line with consumers' spiritual values amid low Islamic finance literacy. The purpose of this study is to analyze the ethics-based marketing strategy and market segmentation applied by the Dompu Branch of Pegadaian Syariah in order to improve service quality and customer loyalty. This study uses a qualitative-descriptive approach with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of management and marketing staff. The results show that the product strategy (rahn syariah) eliminates the element of usury and is reinforced by ZIS services, as well as transparent and fair ('adl) pricing. Market segmentation focused on psychographic dimensions (religiousness and morality) proved effective in increasing customer retention. Promotion was directed as intensive education to overcome misconceptions, although low literacy remains a major challenge. The conclusion shows that this strategy has succeeded in building loyalty through value (ethical) alignment and transparency, providing a practical contribution in the form of a value-based sharia marketing model at the regional level.
