Abstract

In the modern era, the need for fast and high-performance communication is crucial to support the advancement of information technology. Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) enables voice transmission over IP networks, offering cost savings compared to conventional telephony. The State Polytechnic of Malang (Polinema) transitioned from a conventional Private Automatic Branch Exchange (PABX) system, which is now difficult to maintain, to a custom Internet Protocol Private Branch Exchange (IP PBX) system that is more flexible and integrated with existing data networks. The use of Ethernet Passive Optical Network (EPON) in VoIP infrastructure offers benefits such as high capacity, quality VoIP data transmission, energy efficiency, and reduced operational costs. This combination of optical fiber (EPON) and VoIP allows Polinema to create a more efficient and reliable communication solution, enhancing accessibility and the quality of the learning experience. This research is also expected to inspire other educational institutions to adopt similar innovations.

Abstract

The need for raw water is still a serious problem for coastal communities, where groundwater obtained by coastal communities cannot be categorized as suitable for use, because the water tends to be brackish. Clean water that is suitable for consumption is not only clear, odorless, and tasteless, but must also meet health requirements. The urgency of the condition in the coastal area is that with the development of housing located on the coast, the need for clean water is very important for people living on the coast. The purpose of this study is to implement appropriate technology in the coastal area of the north coast with the hope of providing raw or usable water for the people of the north coast, especially for the people in the coastal area of Tegal City, Central Java. The appropriate technology that will be applied is to monitor the results of an internet-of-things based filtration system by reading the TDS and PH sensor values. The TDS sensor can detect a decrease in moisture content with an average decrease in PPM value of around 321 and salinity or salt levels, which is an average decrease of about 8.63%, while the PH sensor detects an increase in the sample, which is an average of 1.8 with a water filling speed of 9.03 L/min. Thus, the previously brackish water condition can be used as an effort to overcome the raw water crisis in coastal communities with the reserve osmosis filtration method.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of railway crossing regulations in Indonesia, employing a multi-stakeholder approach to enhance safety and compliance. Utilising a quantitative methodology, the research surveyed 500 respondents across various stakeholder groups. Structural Equation Modelling-Partial Least Squares analysis revealed that a multi-stakeholder approach significantly influences the effectiveness of regulation implementation (β = 0.68, p < 0.001). Inter-agency coordination emerged as the second most crucial factor (β = 0.55, p < 0.001), mediating the relationship between the multi-stakeholder approach and implementation effectiveness. The study also found a strong correlation between implementation effectiveness and regulatory compliance (β = 0.71, p < 0.001). Whilst community involvement and technology integration showed smaller influences, they remain significant contributors to implementation effectiveness. Notably, perceptions were consistent across stakeholder groups, indicating a shared understanding of key issues. The findings underscore the need for collaborative platforms in policy formulation and implementation, increased investment in technology and community engagement programmes, and adaptive regulatory frameworks that accommodate Indonesia's diverse contexts. This research contributes to the literature on transportation safety in developing countries and provides empirical evidence for policy reforms in railway crossing safety management in Indonesia.

Abstract

The development of information technology has had a positive impact on the world of education, one of which is to simplify the learning process. In the field of electronics, understanding basic components is an important foundation for students and practitioners. This Java Desktop-based application design aims to introduce basic electronic components with an easy-to-understand interactive interface. In this software, it contains various information about basic electronic components such as Resistors, Capacitors, Transistors, Diodes, Push Buttons, which is equipped with detailed information about the specifications and basic functions of various electronic components. In addition, the app comes with visual illustrations in the form of images that support the understanding of physical and component symbols. To explain how components in a series work, the app presents interactive animations to clarify the concept of how each component works and functions. During the creation and testing of 5 times, which was carried out using 5 different basic components resulting in different circuits and explanations of how to work, these results then obtained data from these 5 components which were then entered into the MySQL Database. The data present in the Driver Database is displayed using the Desktop-Based Java Programming Language.
