Jurnal Pendidikan Sosial Indonesia (JUPSI) adalah publikasi akademik yang berfokus pada pengembangan ilmu dan praktik pendidikan di bidang Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial. Cakupan jurnal ini mencakup pendidikan IPS, pendidikan ekonomi, pendidikan sosiologi, pendidikan sejarah, serta pendidikan PPKn, dengan perhatian pada metode pembelajaran, integrasi teknologi, pengembangan kurikulum, dan strategi penguatan kesadaran sosial. Selain itu, JUPSI juga menerima artikel lintas disiplin yang berkaitan dengan pendidikan sosial, seperti integrasi pendidikan berbasis STEAM, literasi digital dalam pembelajaran sosial, serta kajian kebijakan pendidikan sosial di tingkat lokal, nasional, dan global. Jurnal ini bertujuan untuk menyajikan temuan baru dan informasi terkini yang relevan bagi akademisi, pendidik, dan peneliti guna meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di bidang ilmu sosial. Terbit tiga kali dalam setahun, pada bulan Februari, Juni, dan Oktober. JUPSI juga terbuka untuk menerima artikel berupa tinjauan pustaka (literature review) dan systematic literature review (SLR).

Abstract

The phenomenon of love scams has rapidly expanded in Southeast Asia, particularly in Thailand and Indonesia, producing significant financial, psychological, and social impacts. The high exposure rates in Thailand and the increasing reports in Indonesia highlight that digital citizens’ vulnerabilities stem not only from technical limitations but also from emotional factors, cultural norms, and weak regulations. This study aims to analyze the development of love scams in both countries and to identify the role of social education in strengthening digital literacy. Adopting a qualitative approach with a comparative case study design, the research relied on secondary data, including official reports, academic publications, and media coverage. Thematic analysis was applied to identify patterns, vulnerabilities, and preventive strategies. Findings reveal that Thailand emphasizes technological and legal reinforcements, while Indonesia focuses more on public education, though both face distinct challenges. The study concludes that integrating social education and digital literacy is essential for effective prevention and calls for cross-national collaboration and provision of psychosocial support for victims. Its key contribution lies in extending the discourse on love scams into the field of social education, ensuring that the issue is not confined solely to legal or technological domains.

Abstract

The Belangar tradition is a funeral ritual practiced by the Sasak community in Lombok that functions not only as a religious and cultural practice, but also as a social mechanism for building and sustaining communal solidarity. This study aims to examine how women interpret and enact their roles within the Belangar tradition and how their participation contributes to the formation of social solidarity. Employing a qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study design, the research was conducted in Surabaya Village, East Lombok. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, and analyzed using reflexive thematic analysis. The findings reveal that women act as organizers of collective action, maintainers of reciprocal social relations, and mediators of collective emotions within the Belangar ritual. These practices reflect women’s social agency operating through non-formal and relational processes that actively produce and sustain social solidarity. The study concludes that social solidarity in the Belangar tradition is not an automatic outcome of cultural inheritance, but a socially constructed process mediated through women’s ritual and relational labor. Theoretically, this research contributes to discussions on social solidarity and social capital in indigenous contexts, while offering practical implications for social education and culturally grounded community development. Tradisi Belangar merupakan ritual kematian yang dipraktikkan oleh masyarakat Sasak di Lombok dan berfungsi tidak hanya sebagai praktik keagamaan dan kebudayaan, tetapi juga sebagai mekanisme sosial dalam membangun dan mempertahankan solidaritas komunitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana perempuan memaknai dan menjalankan peran mereka dalam tradisi Belangar serta bagaimana keterlibatan tersebut berkontribusi terhadap pembentukan solidaritas sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus intrinsik dan dilaksanakan di Desa Surabaya, Lombok Timur. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan telaah dokumen, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik refleksif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perempuan berperan sebagai pengorganisasi tindakan kolektif, penjaga relasi sosial yang bersifat timbal balik, serta mediator emosi kolektif dalam pelaksanaan ritual Belangar. Praktik-praktik tersebut mencerminkan agensi sosial perempuan yang beroperasi melalui proses non-formal dan relasional dalam memproduksi dan mempertahankan solidaritas sosial. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa solidaritas sosial dalam tradisi Belangar tidak terbentuk secara otomatis sebagai warisan budaya, melainkan merupakan hasil konstruksi sosial yang dimediasi melalui kerja ritual dan kerja relasional perempuan. Secara teoretis, penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap kajian solidaritas sosial dan modal sosial dalam konteks masyarakat adat, sekaligus menawarkan implikasi praktis bagi pendidikan sosial dan pengembangan komunitas berbasis kearifan lokal.

Abstract

Poverty Poverty is a structural social condition that significantly influences access to education. From a Social Studies Education perspective, poverty should be understood not merely as an economic constraint but as a social phenomenon closely linked to inequality, social justice, and civic development. This article examines the relationship between poverty and educational access in Pontianak City using the conceptual framework of Social Studies Education. Employing a qualitative literature-based design, the study analyzes secondary data drawn from official statistical reports, peer-reviewed journal articles, and relevant policy documents published over the past decade. The data were examined through thematic content analysis to identify social patterns shaping educational participation among economically disadvantaged groups. The findings indicate that poverty acts as a structural barrier through educational costs, household economic pressures, and unequal distribution of educational resources, resulting in differentiated educational trajectories. The study concludes that addressing educational inequality requires not only economic interventions but also socially responsive educational strategies that recognize poverty as a central issue in achieving inclusive and equitable education. Kemiskinan merupakan kondisi sosial struktural yang secara signifikan memengaruhi akses terhadap pendidikan. Dalam perspektif Pendidikan IPS, kemiskinan tidak hanya dipahami sebagai keterbatasan ekonomi, tetapi juga sebagai fenomena sosial yang berkaitan erat dengan ketimpangan, keadilan sosial, dan pembentukan kewargaan. Artikel ini mengkaji hubungan antara kemiskinan dan akses pendidikan di Kota Pontianak dengan menggunakan kerangka konseptual Pendidikan IPS. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan kualitatif berbasis studi kepustakaan dengan menganalisis data sekunder yang bersumber dari laporan statistik resmi, artikel jurnal ilmiah, dan dokumen kebijakan dalam sepuluh tahun terakhir. Analisis isi tematik digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi pola sosial yang membentuk partisipasi pendidikan kelompok masyarakat kurang mampu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemiskinan berperan sebagai hambatan struktural melalui biaya pendidikan, tekanan ekonomi rumah tangga, dan distribusi sumber daya pendidikan yang tidak merata. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pengurangan ketimpangan pendidikan memerlukan intervensi ekonomi serta strategi pendidikan yang responsif secara sosial

Abstract

The Beteng Sari Archaeological Site in East Lampung represents a socio-historical landscape shaped by long-term cultural interaction within the civilizational networks of the Indonesian archipelago.     It is concluded that Betengng Sari as a space of cultural interaction and dynamic local identity formation, moving beyond the predominantly descriptive approaches of previous research. Employing a qualitative historical case study design, the research is based on field observations, in-depth interviews, and the analysis of archaeological remains and written sources. The main findings indicate that the configuration of earthen fortifications and ditches, the distribution of domestic artifacts, the presence of Chinese ceramics, metal objects, ancient coins, and a cosmologically oriented burial complex demonstrate Beteng Sari’s integration into regional trade networks and cultural mobility. The coexistence of megalithic traditions, Hindu–Buddhist influences, early Islamic remains, and imported material culture reveals a layered process of acculturation characterized by continuity and adaptation rather than cultural replacement. It is concluded that Beteng Sari functioned as an interregional node of interaction in which local agency played a crucial role in shaping spatial organization, social practices, and collective memory, thereby framing local identity in East Lampung as a contextual and non-essentialist historical construction, with theoretical implications for studies of cultural interaction and landscape archaeology. Situs Purbakala Beteng Sari di Lampung Timur merepresentasikan lanskap sosial-historis yang terbentuk melalui interaksi budaya jangka panjang dalam jaringan peradaban Nusantara. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis Beteng Sari sebagai ruang interaksi budaya dan pembentukan identitas lokal yang dinamis, melampaui pendekatan deskriptif yang selama ini mendominasi kajian situs. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus historis melalui observasi lapangnon-esensialismendalam, serta analisis tinggalan arkeologis dan sumber tertulis. Temuan utama menunjukkan bahwa konfigurasi benteng dan parit, sebaran artefak domestik, kehadiran keramik Cina, artefak logam, uang kuno, serta kompleks makam berorientasi kosmologis menegaskan keterhubungan Beteng Sari dengan jaringan perdagangan dan mobilitas budaya regional. Koeksistensi tradisi megalitik, pengaruh Hindu–Buddha, Islam awal, dan budaya material impor mengindikasikan proses akulturasi berlapis yang berlangsung melalui kesinambungan dan adaptasi, bukan penggantian budaya. Disimpulkan bahwa Beteng Sari berfungsi sebagai simpul interaksi lintas wilayah, di mana agensi masyarakat lokal berperan penting dalam membentuk tatanan ruang, praktik sosial, dan memori kolektif, sehingga identitas lokal Lampung Timur dapat dipahami sebagai konstruksi historis yang kontekstual dan non-esensialis, dengan implikasi teoretik bagi kajian interaksi budaya dan arkeologi lanskap.

Abstract

Differences in social, cultural, and service contexts between urban and rural areas in Indonesia shape variations in how health is socially perceived. This article aims to examine how social perceptions of health are constructed in urban and rural communities and to identify the factors influencing these differences. A qualitative approach employing a structured narrative literature review was applied to twenty scholarly articles published over the past decade, which were analyzed through thematic synthesis. The main findings indicate that urban communities tend to conceptualize health within a rational and biomedical, individual-oriented framework, whereas rural communities interpret health in a more communal and context-sensitive manner, influenced by cultural values, social relations, and local authority. Distinctions are also observed in access to health information, perceptions of disease risk, patterns of preventive behavior, and the strength of social norms. This study concludes that health perception is a socially constructed phenomenon shaped by the interaction of structural conditions, cultural orientations, and social capital. The findings imply that health promotion and intervention strategies should be context-sensitive and tailored to the social characteristics of each setting to achieve sustainable outcomes. Perbedaan konteks sosial, budaya, dan ketersediaan layanan antara wilayah perkotaan dan pedesaan di Indonesia membentuk variasi dalam cara masyarakat memaknai kesehatan. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara komprehensif konstruksi persepsi sosial kesehatan pada masyarakat perkotaan dan pedesaan serta faktor-faktor yang memengaruhinya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain tinjauan literatur naratif-terstruktur terhadap dua puluh artikel ilmiah yang dipublikasikan dalam sepuluh tahun terakhir dan dianalisis melalui sintesis tematik. Temuan utama menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat perkotaan cenderung memahami kesehatan dalam kerangka rasional-medis dan berorientasi individual, sedangkan masyarakat pedesaan memaknainya secara lebih komunal, kontekstual, dan dipengaruhi oleh nilai budaya, relasi sosial, serta otoritas lokal. Perbedaan juga tampak pada akses informasi, persepsi risiko penyakit, pola perilaku pencegahan, serta kekuatan norma sosial. Kajian ini menyimpulkan bahwa persepsi kesehatan merupakan konstruksi sosial yang dibentuk oleh interaksi antara struktur, budaya, dan modal sosial. Implikasinya, strategi promosi dan intervensi kesehatan perlu dirancang secara kontekstual dengan mempertimbangkan karakteristik sosial wilayah agar lebih efektif dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This study examines how medical pluralism shapes health-seeking behavior among communities in Barru Regency, South Sulawesi, by analyzing the roles of cultural beliefs, clinical experience, and economic as well as accessibility factors in treatment decision-making. Employing a qualitative descriptive–exploratory design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, non-participant observation, and document review involving community members, traditional healers, and formal health practitioners. Thematic analysis identified three main findings: culturally grounded beliefs that legitimize traditional medicine as a holistic and spiritually meaningful initial reference; clinically based trust that positions biomedical services as the primary source of diagnostic certainty and the management of serious illness; and economic and accessibility considerations that influence the sequence and intensity of health service utilization. These findings indicate that health-seeking behavior in Barru Regency is characterized by a sequential and complementary pattern of medical pluralism rather than a dichotomous opposition between traditional and modern medicine. Theoretically, this study contributes to the literature on health-seeking behavior by conceptualizing medical pluralism as a contextual social strategy, while practically highlighting the importance of culturally sensitive and integrative health service approaches. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis bagaimana pluralisme medis membentuk perilaku pencarian pengobatan masyarakat di Kabupaten Barru, Sulawesi Selatan, dengan menelaah peran kepercayaan budaya, pengalaman klinis, serta faktor ekonomi dan aksesibilitas dalam pengambilan keputusan berobat. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif-eksploratif melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi nonpartisipatif, dan telaah dokumen yang melibatkan masyarakat, penyembuh tradisional, dan tenaga kesehatan formal. Analisis tematik menunjukkan tiga temuan utama, yaitu kepercayaan berbasis budaya yang melegitimasi pengobatan tradisional sebagai rujukan awal yang holistik dan bermakna spiritual, kepercayaan berbasis pengalaman klinis yang menempatkan layanan biomedis sebagai sumber utama kepastian diagnosis dan penanganan penyakit serius, serta faktor ekonomi dan aksesibilitas yang memengaruhi urutan serta intensitas pemanfaatan layanan kesehatan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa perilaku pencarian pengobatan masyarakat Barru dicirikan oleh pola pluralisme medis yang berurutan dan saling melengkapi, bukan pertentangan antara sistem tradisional dan modern. Secara teoretis, penelitian ini memperkaya kajian health-seeking behavior dengan memosisikan pluralisme medis sebagai strategi sosial yang kontekstual, sementara secara praktis menegaskan pentingnya pendekatan layanan kesehatan yang integratif dan sensitif budaya.

Abstract

The This study examines the internalization of nationalism values through scouting activities among students at MTs Negeri Parepare City. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. Respondents included the principal, scoutmasters, and students actively participating in scouting programs. The findings reveal that nationalism values were internalized through three stages: value transformation (introduction of values through flag ceremonies, recitation of Tri Satya and Dasa Dharma, and narratives of national heroes); value transaction (students’ engagement in teamwork, community service, leadership, and social activities); and value transinternalization (the embodiment of values in disciplined behavior, patriotism, and social responsibility). The internalized values included unity and integrity, law obedience, respect for national heroes, independence, leadership, and environmental awareness. These results indicate that scouting serves as an effective experiential medium for fostering nationalism and character development in educational settings. Penelitian ini mengkaji internalisasi nilai-nilai nasionalisme melalui kegiatan kepramukaan pada siswa MTs Negeri Kota Parepare. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Informan penelitian meliputi kepala madrasah, pembina pramuka, dan siswa yang aktif dalam kegiatan kepramukaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa internalisasi nilai nasionalisme berlangsung melalui tiga tahap, yaitu transformasi nilai (penanaman nilai melalui upacara bendera, pembacaan Tri Satya dan Dasa Dharma, serta kisah pahlawan nasional); transaksi nilai (keterlibatan siswa dalam kerja sama kelompok, bakti sosial, kepemimpinan, dan kegiatan sosial); serta transinternalisasi nilai (terwujudnya perilaku disiplin, cinta tanah air, dan kepedulian sosial). Nilai nasionalisme yang berkembang meliputi persatuan, ketaatan hukum, penghargaan terhadap jasa pahlawan, kemandirian, kepemimpinan, serta kepedulian lingkungan. Kegiatan kepramukaan efektif sebagai media pengalaman langsung dalam pembentukan karakter nasionalisme di sekolah.
