Abstract

This community service activity aimed to strengthen adolescents’ character by fostering a balance between faith and piety (iman and taqwa) as well as physical and spiritual health as a preventive effort against drug abuse among students of MTs Al-Falah Fi’lial Pulubala, Gorontalo Regency. The program was implemented using an educative–participatory approach through interactive lectures, question-and-answer sessions, group discussions, and role-play simulations. Participants consisted of madrasah students who were actively involved in all stages of the activity. Evaluation was conducted using pre-test and post-test instruments, supported by observations and participant feedback to assess changes in knowledge, attitudes, and engagement. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ understanding of the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of maintaining physical and spiritual well-being. In addition, students demonstrated more positive attitudes, stronger rejection of drug-related behaviors, and increased awareness of character values rooted in religious teachings. Overall, this community service program proved effective in enhancing adolescents’ resilience against drug abuse through an integrated approach combining character education, religiosity, and healthy lifestyle promotion within the school environment.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to socialize Komering Gymnastics as a culture-based fitness education program at SMP Quraniah 1 Palembang. The program was motivated by low student participation in structured physical activities and a declining appreciation of local culture. Komering Gymnastics, which adapts traditional movement patterns of the Komering community in South Sumatra, was utilized as a medium to integrate cultural values into physical education (PJOK) learning. The program was implemented over four months, from August 2025 to November 2025, involving 16 students through stages of socialization, guided practice, mentoring, and evaluation. Data were collected using observation, questionnaires, interviews, documentation, and simple physical fitness tests. The results indicated an increase in student activeness, improved understanding of local cultural values, and enhancements in physical fitness components, including coordination, flexibility, and endurance. Teachers and school stakeholders responded positively, noting that the program enriched PJOK learning and strengthened students’ cultural identity. This program concludes that Komering Gymnastics is feasible as an alternative culture-based fitness education program in junior high schools.

Abstract

The low level of physical activity among vocational high school students has become an increasing concern, particularly due to sedentary lifestyles and the intensive use of digital devices in daily activities. This community service program was implemented through a teaching assistance activity at SMK Arinda Palembang with the aim of improving students’ physical activity levels, movement coordination, and motivation to engage in regular physical exercise. The program was conducted over a two-month period, from October to November 2025, involving Grade X and XI students. A participatory-practice approach was applied, consisting of an initial observation of students’ physical activity conditions, delivery of basic physical fitness material, demonstration and practice of creative gymnastics, and evaluation based on observation. The creative gymnastics program included Senam Anak Indonesia Hebat, Poco-Poco, and Maumere, each session lasting approximately 30 minutes. The results indicated an increase in students’ active participation and enthusiasm, improved ability to maintain movement intensity throughout the sessions, enhanced coordination and rhythmic accuracy, and more positive attitudes toward physical activity. In addition, the program contributed to reducing sedentary behavior within the school environment. This creative gymnastics program serves as a simple, enjoyable, and sustainable alternative to support the integration of regular physical activity into school routines.

Abstract

The development of mini soccer in Gorontalo Province has shown a significant increase along with the growing number of tournaments at community, school, and regional levels. However, this growth has not been fully supported by the availability of professional and standardized refereeing human resources. Limited understanding of regulations, technical officiating skills, and decision-making abilities may negatively affect the quality of mini soccer competitions. This community service activity aimed to improve the competence and professionalism of mini soccer referees through a structured and practical training program. The training was conducted on November 16, 2025, in Pentadio District, Gorontalo Regency, and involved 20 participants from various regencies and cities in Gorontalo Province. The implementation employed a capacity-building approach that integrated lectures and interactive discussions, match-simulation-based field practice, as well as performance evaluation and reflection. The results indicated an improvement in participants’ understanding of mini soccer regulations, technical refereeing skills, decision-making abilities, and professional attitudes in officiating matches. The novelty of this program lies in the implementation of an integrated training model combining theoretical instruction, field practice, and reflective evaluation as the first structured mini soccer referee development program organized by the Gorontalo Provincial Board of the Indonesian Mini Soccer Committee (KSMI). This activity is expected to serve as a foundation for sustainable mini soccer referee development in the region.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to implement Komering Gymnastics as a culture-based physical exercise model to improve students’ physical fitness while fostering awareness of local cultural preservation. The program was conducted at Universitas Bina Darma, involving students of the Physical Education Study Program as the target community. The activities were carried out routinely every Friday through several stages, including the socialization of Komering culture, gymnastics training, movement demonstrations, and direct practice integrated into campus activities. Program evaluation was conducted using simple methods, such as observing participation levels, students’ ability to perform the movement sequences, and reflective feedback on cultural understanding. The results indicated a high level of student participation and improvements in coordination, flexibility, and physical endurance through continuous practice of Komering Gymnastics. In addition, students demonstrated increased understanding and awareness of the importance of preserving Komering culture as part of local wisdom. This community service activity contributed positively to addressing partner-related issues, namely the limited availability of culture-based physical exercise and the low level of students’ knowledge of local culture. The implementation of Komering Gymnastics serves as an educational and culturally valuable alternative for physical fitness activities in academic settings and is recommended for sustainable development in physical education learning and similar community service programs.

Abstract

Bullying is a problem that frequently occurs in school environments and has negative impacts on students’ psychological, social, and academic development. This condition highlights the importance of strengthening a positive school culture as a preventive effort to create a safe and comfortable learning environment. This activity was a community service program aimed at increasing students’ knowledge, understanding, and awareness of the forms, impacts, and prevention strategies of bullying through the reinforcement of positive culture at SMP Negeri 1 Wonosari, Boalemo Regency. The community service methods included interactive lectures, discussions, and educational video screenings involving 49 junior high school students as participants. The evaluation was conducted using simple indicators, including observation of participant engagement, question-and-answer sessions, and individual summary assignments to assess improvements in understanding. The results showed that approximately 85% of participants were actively involved in discussions, 78% of students were able to clearly explain bullying concepts and prevention strategies, and a positive change in students’ attitudes toward rejecting bullying behavior was observed. Overall, this community service activity plays an important role in enhancing students’ awareness and participation in building a safe, inclusive, and positive school culture as a strategic approach to bullying prevention.
