Abstract

The high rate of population growth, which has not been accompanied by an improvement in the quality of the population, has led to efforts to address this issue through the Family Planning (KB) programme. One form of contraception is the IUD. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the interest of couples of childbearing age (PUS) in using IUD contraception. This study uses a quantitative correlational research design and a cross-sectional research design. The population consisted of 246 patients, and the sample size was 61 respondents. Data collection used a questionnaire to assess the factors influencing the interest of couples of childbearing age (PUS) in using IUD contraception. The results showed that of the 61 respondents, 33 respondents (54%) had low interest and 28 respondents (46%) had high interest in IUDs. Spearman's rank analysis showed that there was a relationship between interest in IUD use and education (p-value 0.004), parity (p-value 0.014), husband's support (p-value 0.014), and culture (p-value 0.005).

Abstract

Female surgical contraception (FSC) is an effective method of contraception that reduces birth rates. The choice of contraception is influenced by several factors, one of which is the support of the husband. In addition to spousal support, an individual's ability to choose contraception is also based on cost considerations. This study aims to analyse the relationship between spousal and socioeconomic support and interest in using female surgical contraception (FSC) among couples of reproductive age (CRA). This study used an analytical correlation approach. The population of this study consisted of all patients who used contraception at Aisyiyah Kudus Hospital, totalling 85 patients. The sample required in this study was 71 respondents. The instruments used were a husband support questionnaire, a socio-economic questionnaire, and a questionnaire on interest in using MOW. Statistical analysis used the Spearman rank test with a significance level of 5% (0.05). A total of 45 (63.4%) received support from their husbands, 39 (54.9%) had an income equal to or above the minimum wage, and respondents had a high interest in using MOW contraception, namely 50 (70.4%). There is a relationship between spousal support (0.000) and socioeconomic status (0.003) with interest in using the female surgical contraceptive method (MOW) among couples of reproductive age (PUS) at Aisyiyah Hospital in Kudus.

Abstract

Breastfeeding is the process of feeding breast milk to babies from birth to 2 years of age with the aim of providing optimal nutrition to babies. This study aims to analyse the effect of Woolwich massage using olive oil on breastfeeding success in post-caesarean section mothers at Sebening Kasih General Hospital. The research method used was quantitative, namely a quasi-experimental study with a two-group pretest-posttest design. The population consisted of 142 post-caesarean section mothers. The sample size was calculated using the Slovin formula to be 60, with a ratio of 30 respondents receiving the intervention and 30 respondents in the control group. The analysis in this study used the Wilcoxon Sign Rank test. The results of the study showed that before and after the intervention of Woolwich massage using olive oil, there was a significant increase in the success rate of breastfeeding, especially among postpartum mothers who had undergone a caesarean section and received Woolwich massage using olive oil.

Abstract

Children are social individuals in the golden period, a critical stage of growth and development, particularly motor development, which is strongly influenced by parenting styles. Appropriate parenting plays an important role in optimizing children’s development. This study aims to determine the relationship between parenting styles and motor development of children at TK ABA Panembahan Kraton Area, Yogyakarta, as specific studies at the local kindergarten level are still limited. The research used a non-experimental descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The independent variable was parenting style, and the dependent variable was children’s motor development. Data were collected simultaneously using questionnaires and developmental assessment sheets and analyzed using the Spearman Rank test. Respondents were selected based on inclusion criteria, namely children aged 4–6 years who were active students and parents/guardians willing to participate. The results showed that most parents applied democratic parenting (71.58%), and all children in this group had appropriate motor development. Authoritarian parenting was applied by 15.79% of parents and permissive parenting by 12.63%; in these groups, some children showed doubtful development, although the majority remained appropriate. No motor development deviations were found. The Spearman Rank test indicated a significant positive relationship (p = 0.000; r = 0.528) with moderate strength, concluding that there is a relationship between parenting styles and children’s motor development.

Abstract

Background : Menstrual cycle disorders are conditions characterized by abnormal changes in the frequency, duration of menstruation, and the volume of menstrual blood. Data obtained from Riskesdas show that 13.7% of women in Indonesia aged 10–59 years experienced irregular menstrual cycles within the last year. These disorders can be influenced by various factors, one of which is the habit of consuming junk food. Objective : This study aimed to analyze the relationship between junk food consumption and menstrual cycle disorders among female adolescents at SMK Ar-Rahma in 2025. Methods: This study used a quantitative analytic method with a cross-sectional design. The research was conducted from August 30 to September 2025 with a total population of 143 adolescents. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, resulting in 59 respondents. Data collection in this study used an FFQ questionnaire and a checklist sheet. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-Square statistical test. Results : The results showed that most adolescents frequently consumed junk food, totaling 42 respondents (71.2%), and 51 respondents (86.4%) experienced menstrual cycle disorders. Bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test (p = 0.003) indicated a significant relationship between junk food consumption and menstrual cycle disorders. Conclusions: Therefore, concrete efforts are needed through promotive, preventive, and educative activities, accompanied by the development of effective strategies to improve adolescent reproductive health through appropriate nutritional approaches.

Abstract

Hospitals are healthcare facilities that are at risk of healthcare-related infections. One of the most effective infection prevention efforts is the implementation of hand hygiene by healthcare workers. However, in its implementation, hand hygiene compliance is still often found to be suboptimal. This study aims to analyze the problem of hand hygiene compliance and efforts to improve compliance using the Lean Management approach, the USG method, and the PDSA cycle at XXX Hospital. This study used a descriptive qualitative method with an observational approach conducted during the internship. The data used were monitoring data on hand hygiene compliance of healthcare workers from October to December. The results showed that the level of hand hygiene compliance in October was 76.5%, in November 75%, and in December 79.1%. The results of the Lean Management analysis showed waste in the form of defects and motion that affected the implementation of hand hygiene. Based on the USG method analysis, the problem of suboptimal hand hygiene compliance is a priority problem that needs to be addressed. Improvement efforts are carried out through the PDSA method by increasing education, regular compliance monitoring, and providing adequate hand hygiene facilities. These efforts are expected to improve healthcare workers' compliance in implementing hand hygiene, thereby supporting the Infection Prevention and Control program in hospitals.

Abstract

Mobile JKN is a digital application developed by BPJS Kesehatan to facilitate National Health Insurance members in accessing healthcare services. However, frequent complaints about automatic account logouts remain a problem at RSI Muhammadiyah Sumberrejo, disrupting service delivery. This study aimed to identify the causes of frequent Mobile JKN account logouts. A qualitative descriptive method was employed through in-depth interviews with three purposively selected informants, supported by observation and documentation. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings showed that the main causes of account logouts were system updates, system maintenance, and account access from different devices. Other barriers included forgotten passwords and not carrying mobile phones. These problems increased service waiting time and staff workload. Providing simple educational media is recommended to improve patients' understanding and independence in using the Mobile JKN application, thereby enhancing the efficiency and quality of healthcare services.

Abstract

Hospitals are healthcare facilities with a high risk of infection transmission to patients, healthcare workers, and supporting staff. One of the important efforts to prevent infection is the implementation of the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) program, including compliance with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This study aimed to evaluate PPE compliance among cleaning service staff in supporting the IPC program at Hospital X. This study used a descriptive quantitative design. Data were collected through direct observation and PPE compliance monitoring records from the IPC unit. Problem analysis was conducted using the USG method (Urgency, Seriousness, Growth), while root causes were analyzed using a Fishbone diagram. The results showed that PPE compliance from October to December was above 90%, namely 91.0% in October, 92.9% in November, and 91.6% in December, but had not reached the optimal standard of 100%. USG analysis identified PPE non-compliance as the main problem. Fishbone analysis indicated that the issue was influenced by individual, method, management, and environmental factors. Improvement efforts were carried out using a Lean Management approach by installing PPE reminder posters to increase staff awareness and compliance.

Abstract

The Mobile JKN application was developed to facilitate public access to healthcare services, including online account registration. However, patients still experience various obstacles during the account registration process, affecting the effectiveness of digital healthcare services. This study aimed to analyze patient complaints related to online Mobile JKN account registration, identify the contributing factors, and propose improvement strategies. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation and interviews with patients and healthcare staff involved in the Mobile JKN registration service. The problems were analyzed descriptively to identify the main causes of patient complaints. The results showed that the most common complaints included failure to verify personal data, one-time password (OTP) codes not being received, registered phone numbers or email addresses, application errors, unstable internet connections, and limited patient understanding of the registration procedure. These complaints were caused by system factors, technological limitations, and users' lack of knowledge regarding Mobile JKN registration Improvement efforts include enhancing system performance, providing clear registration guidelines, strengthening patient education, and improving coordination between healthcare facilities and BPJS Kesehatan. These efforts are expected to reduce patient complaints and improve the quality of digital healthcare services.

Abstract

Logistics management is an important component in supporting hospital operational activities. Logistics requests that do not follow the scheduled system can disrupt the distribution process and reduce the efficiency of logistics services. This study aims to analyze compliance with the schedule of general logistics requests and its impact on the efficiency of goods distribution at RS X. This research used a descriptive qualitative method with observation and problem analysis using the USG (Urgency, Seriousness, Growth) method. Data were obtained through field practice activities in the General Logistics Unit by observing the process of requesting and distributing logistics goods. The results showed that several work units still submitted logistics requests outside the predetermined schedule stated in the standard operating procedures, which disrupted the workflow of logistics staff, increased workload, and reduced the efficiency of the distribution process. The study concludes that compliance with logistics request schedules significantly influences the efficiency of goods distribution in hospitals. Therefore, it is necessary to improve SOP socialization, conduct periodic monitoring, and strengthen coordination between work units and the logistics department to enhance the effectiveness of hospital logistics management.
