Abstract

This study aims to determine how the influence of principal leadership on teacher performance at Rex Mundi Catholic High School Manado, and to determine whether or not there is an influence between principal leadership on teacher performance at Rex Mundi Catholic High School Manado. The research method used is a quantitative research method that aims to determine whether there is an influence or relationship between variable x and variable y, or vice versa. The research sample consisted of 40 respondents, obtained using saturated samples. Validity and reliability tests were carried out using IBM SPSS 25 for windows and all questionnaire items distributed were declared valid and reliable. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence between variable x and variable y with a correlation coefficient of determination of 0.415 with a percentage of 41.5%. This shows that there is an influence between the independent variable and the dependent variable with a contribution of 41.5% and the remaining 58.5% is influenced by other factors

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of parents in the formation of children's politeness norms, factors that support and inhibit the role of parents in the formation of children's politeness norms, and efforts made by parents in the formation of children's politeness norms at Santa Perawan Maria Ratu Kamangta Station. This study uses a qualitative approach to obtain more in-depth data on the role of parents in the formation of children's politeness norms at Santa Perawan Maria Ratu Kamangta Station. The results of the study indicate that the Role of Parents in the Formation of Children's Politeness Norms at Santa Perawan Maria Ratu Kamangta Station is carried out by supervising every behavior shown by children and teaching children to be individuals who are always grateful for the help of others. There are also factors that support the role of parents in the formation of children's politeness norms, namely the child's attitude of being open to advice given by parents and good communication between children and parents. The inhibiting factors are the negative influence of the surrounding environment and the lack of time for parents to supervise children's activities. For this reason, efforts that parents must make in the formation of children's politeness norms are educating children to be individuals who can accept direction and reprimands from others, fostering politeness in children, and limiting children from being involved in relationships that have a bad influence.

Abstract

This study aims to: describe (1) item analysis competency and (2) professionalism of Catholic high school/vocational high school teachers in Manado City; (3) determine how big the correlation/relationship is between item analysis competency and the professionalism of Catholic high school/vocational high school teachers in Manado City; (4) describe efforts to improve item analysis competency as part of the professionalism of Catholic high school/vocational high school teachers in Manado City. The method used is a mix method. Obtaining descriptive data related to research objectives (1), (2) and (4) used qualitative methods; continued with the application of quantitative methods to obtain data related to research objectives (3). The data sources in this study were the principals and teachers of Catholic high schools/vocational high schools in Manado City totaling 121 people with 93 samples. The data collection technique for the qualitative method used interview techniques as well as observation and documentation; determining the source of interview data used purposive sampling. The results of the qualitative study of item analysis competency showed that some teachers knew and were able to make item analysis, but there were also those who did not understand and did not apply it. Quantitative results on how big the correlation of item analysis competency with teacher professionalism with a sample of 93 people from 121 populations showed significant results below 0.05, so it is included in the very good category. The percentage of variable X (item analysis competency) is 85% and variable Y (teacher professionalism) is 82%. The influence of X on Y is: 0.432; this result can be interpreted that the correlation of item analysis competency with teacher professionalism is in the moderate relationship category. This means that there are still other factors whose relationship category with Y is lower or higher, but these factors were not examined in this study.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the reality of the use of learning media in improving student learning outcomes at Santa Bernadeth Kembes Catholic Junior High School and the supporting and inhibiting factors for the use of audiovisual learning media in improving student learning outcomes and efforts to use audiovisual learning media in improving student learning outcomes. technique/type of descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used in qualitative research are Observation, Interview and Documentation. In this study, the main instrument is the author himself. The conclusion of the study consists of three parts. First: teachers realize that the use of audiovisual learning media is very important, but because of the obstacles that exist from teachers and students so that the use of audiovisual learning media is not optimal. second: Factors supporting the use of audiovisual learning media in improving student learning outcomes at Santa Bernadeth Kembes Catholic Junior High School, namely by utilizing the internet and the Whatsapp application so that teaching and learning activities continue. third: Efforts to use audiovisual learning media in improving student learning outcomes at Santa Bernadeth Kembes Catholic Junior High School, namely by utilizing existing supporting media in schools in the form of printed books so that teaching and learning activities continue.

Abstract

This title is based on one of the essential elements of DSY Congregational Spirituality, namely implementing the Spirituality of DSY Sisters in forming the character of children in the dormitory which is the responsibility of the formator. The purpose of this study is to describe the duties and missions in the midst of forming boarding children which are managed directly by the Congregation of DSY Sisters, by implementing the spirituality of the DSY Congregation in building the character of the children in the Wojtyla dormitory. Considering the needs in the field of education in the city of Tomohon which are growing, where children who come are not only from the Manado territory but also from outside the territory of Manado. In the results of research, it was found that children who can be responsible and independent, certainly do not have difficulty adjusting to the existing dormitory environment, especially by following various regulations applied in the dormitory.

Abstract

This study discusses the appreciation of the liturgical attitude in the celebration of the Eucharist. The method used is a qualitative research method. The results obtained in this study are an appreciation of the liturgical attitude for young Catholics and efforts that can be made to live up to the liturgical attitude in the Eucharist such as: additional basic material in religious lessons at school, parental supervision of children during the celebration Eucharist, catechesis and recollection of liturgical attitudes to increase understanding and appreciation of OMK.

Abstract

Learning Theory of Constructivism has become an integral part in the implementation of curriculum in the learning process on classroom, including in the subject of Catholic Religious Education. Published studies due to the application of Constructivism-based learning in Catholic Religious Education seem to be lacking. Using the literature review method, this article intends to explore the basic ideas and principles of constructivist learning, its significant implications and at the end of the article propose its applications in Catholic Religious Education learning.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the level of teachers’ pedagogic competence, students’ learning interest, and the influence of teachers’ pedagogic competence on the learning interest of Grade XI students at St. Fransiskus Xaverius Catholic Vocational School, Manado. The study employed a quantitative approach with a population of 66 students and a sample of 57 students selected using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. Instrument validity was tested using Product Moment correlation, while reliability was measured using Cronbach’s Alpha. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Product Moment correlation analysis. The findings revealed that teachers’ pedagogic competence was categorized as very good, with a coefficient value of 0.86. Students’ learning interest was also categorized as very good, with a coefficient value of 0.86. Furthermore, there was a very strong and significant influence of teachers’ pedagogic competence on students’ learning interest, indicated by an r-value of 0.940 and an effective contribution of 88% at a 5% significance level. These results indicate that teachers’ pedagogic competence plays a substantial role in enhancing students’ learning interest.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the implementation of the PQ4R learning strategy in class VIII in the subjects of Catholic Religious Education and Character Education at Siti Fatima Catholic Middle School Manado, and a description of the learning outcomes of class VIII students in the subjects of Catholic Religious Education and Character Education at Siti Fatima Catholic Middle School. Manado and to find out whether there is a correlation between the implementation of the PQ4R learning strategy and the learning outcomes of Catholic Religious Education and Budi Pekerti for class VIII students at the Siti Fatima Catholic Junior High School Manado. The method used in this research is quantitative research with descriptive and correlational approaches. The research sample was the entire population taken from all students of class VIII, totaling 31 people at Siti Fatima Catholic Middle School Manado. The instrument trial was conducted on 31 students of class VIII. Test the validity of the instrument using the product moment correlation and reliability testing using the coefficient formula for the variable implementation of the PQ4R learning strategy and using the Cronbach Alpha value for the variable PAK and Budi Pekerti learning outcomes. The results of this study indicate that the students using the PQ4R learning strategy are in the very good category with an average score of 75.68 on a scale of 20-80 and the PAK and Budi Pekerti learning outcomes in this even mid-semester exam, the students get very good results. high with an average score of 98.71 on a scale of 0-100 and based on the product moment correlation results there is a strong correlation between the implementation of the PQ4R learning strategy and the learning outcomes of PAK and Budi Pekerti Class VIII students of Siti Fatima Catholic Middle School Manado of 0.712 with a significant value of 0.000 .

Abstract

This study discusses the principal’s leadership management at SMP PGRI Pangolombian. The research focuses on the principal’s understanding of leadership management, its implementation, and efforts to improve it. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings show that the principal understands the importance of leadership management, but its implementation has not been optimal, particularly in planning, control, and decision-making. The principal has attempted to improve leadership through task distribution, communication, approaches to school members, and collaboration with related stakeholders.
