Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy, information technology, trust, and human resources on Generation Z’s saving interest in Islamic banks. The research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. Primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to Generation Z respondents in Surakarta City and analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The results indicate that financial literacy and trust have a significant partial effect on Generation Z’s saving interest in Islamic banks. Meanwhile, information technology and human resources do not show a significant partial effect. However, simultaneously, financial literacy, information technology, trust, and human resources significantly influence Generation Z’s saving interest in Islamic banks. These findings suggest that improving Islamic financial literacy and strengthening trust among Generation Z are key factors in increasing saving interest in Islamic banking. This study is expected to provide insights for Islamic banks in formulating strategies to enhance financial inclusion and market penetration among younger generations.

Abstract

This study measures market risk in the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) portfolio by comparing Value at Risk (VaR) and Expected Shortfall (ES). Daily return data from 2020–2025 exhibit extreme leptokurtic distribution (kurtosis >12), making the normality assumption underlying VaR inadequate. The findings reveal that ES, particularly under the Historical Simulation approach, provides more conservative and realistic risk estimates than VaR. At the 99% confidence level, ES captures an average extreme loss of IDR 48 million, substantially higher than VaR predictions. These results highlight ES as a more appropriate risk metric for Sharia-compliant investors, especially in stress testing and risk capital allocation.

Abstract

Debt Acquisition is an unavoidable of household financial life. In Islamic teachings, debt is permissible but should be treated as a last resort, undertaken only after careful consideration of priority needs. Islamic economic principles emphasize that needs should be directed toward achieving the objectives of aqashid al-sharia, which are hierarchically classified into essential (dharuriyyat), complementary (hajiyyat), and luxury (tahsiniyat) needs. Understanding how these principles are reflected in actual household debt behavior is therefore important. This study aims to describe patterns of debt among Muslim households in the City of Depok, Indonesia. Using primary survey data collected in 2022, the study applies quantitative descriptive analysis to examine household debt behavior. The analysis focuses on the purposes of debt and the types of needs that household debt behavior is intended to fulfill, without testing causal relationship. The results indicate that debt patterns of Muslim household in the city of Depok generally reflect prudent financial behavior. Most borrowing is undertaken to meet essential (dharuriyyat) needs, particularly for first home, education expenses, first vehicle ownership, and the fulfillment of basic household necessities. These findings suggest that household debt in this urban Muslim context is predominantly necessity-driven rather than consumption-oriented. This study provides baseline empirical evidence on Muslim household debt behavior and contributes to the literature on Islamic household finance by offering a descriptive snapshot that can support future explanatory and comparative research

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Operational Cost Management (OPM) in improving Return on Assets (ROA) in the Indonesian hotel industry. Using a quantitative research approach, data were analyzed through simple linear regression using IBM SPSS Statistics version 26. The results showed that operational cost management has a positive and significant effect on ROA, with a p-value of 0.001 (<0.05). This finding implies that the more efficiently hotels manage their operational expenses such as labor, maintenance, and utilities the greater their ability to generate profits from total assets. Effective operational cost management improves asset utilization, strengthens financial performance, and enables hotels to maintain profitability despite fluctuations in occupancy rates and economic conditions. This study concludes that operational cost management is a strategic instrument for improving financial sustainability and achieving long-term competitiveness in the hotel sector.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Cost Management, Operational Efficiency, Service Innovation, and Customer Loyalty on Return on Assets (ROA) in star-rated hotels located in Jakarta. A quantitative research approach was employed, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to managers, supervisors, and finance and operational staff of three- to five-star hotels in Jakarta. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 26.0, through validity and reliability testing, classical assumption testing, and multiple linear regression analysis. The results indicate that all independent variables have a significant and positive influence on ROA. Among them, Customer Loyalty exerts the strongest effect, followed by Service Innovation, Operational Efficiency, and Cost Management. These findings suggest that the profitability of hotel assets is not only driven by financial control but also by the ability to maintain customer relationships and implement continuous innovation. Thus, achieving optimal ROA requires an integrated managerial approach that balances internal efficiency with customer-oriented service innovation

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of regional area size, population, and efficiency ratio on financial distress in local governments of Central Java Province during the 2020–2024 period. Financial distress in the public sector reflects the inability of local governments to manage public finances sustainably, which may reduce the quality of public services. This research employs a quantitative approach using a causal method. The research sample consists of 35 local governments, including 29 regencies and 6 municipalities in Central Java Province. Binary logistic regression is applied to examine the influence of independent variables on financial distress. The results indicate that regional area size has a significant effect on financial distress, population has a significant effect on financial distress, and the efficiency ratio has a significant effect on financial distress. These findings suggest that geographic characteristics, demographic conditions, and financial management efficiency are crucial determinants of local government financial conditions. This study is expected to provide insights for local governments in formulating more effective and sustainable financial management policies to reduce the risk of financial distress.
