<![CDATA[Petra Christian University Student Executive Board (BEM) needs an administrative and project management system that can help managing the activities. This Board was having a problem of coordination on managing the activities they have. The tight schedule of each member of the executive staffs who comes from different departments has created this problem. To answer the above problem, an administrative and project management system is developed to help PCU BEM managing each of their activities. The scope of the system covers access privileges, job divisions and task assignments, proposal creation and budgeting arrangements of the implementation of each activity. The application is developed as a web-based system using Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004, PHP and JavaScript programming language and MySQL database system. The system testing concludes that the application is able to support the performances of the BEM executive staff members in managing their activities. The detailed job divisions let the implementation process of each activity be easily viewed by each executive staff member.]]>

<![CDATA[Web and SMS is a new development that is useful for many people as a data exchange media. In the business world, especially for marketing use, by using those two media business can be performed globally so that informations are fast and easily spread all over the world. From this problem born an idea to promote Diamond Hotel by using web and a facility to reserve room using SMS. This Application was created by using VB 6 language and using AT command to communicate with cellphone. Meanwhile, data that flow between system and cellphone are in the form of Protocol Data Unit. System had been tested by sending SMS request from a cellphone and system sent back SMS response as requested by user.]]>

<![CDATA[The objective of this study is to map the change dynamic of dengue endemic area in Salatiga, Central Java in 2001-2008. This study is carried out in three stages. The first one is the descriptive survey to find the secondary sociodemographic and epidemiologic data. The second stage is data analysis using spatial association, in this case is Global Moran’s dan Local Moran’s (LISA). The last stage is the interpretation of the result of analysis in form of Moran Scatterplot and LISA map. The result of the study shows that spatial pattern based on the dynamic distribution of Dengue occurrence could be identified using Global Moran’s method. From 2001 to 2008, it could be found that there are hotspots and outlier. The area with high frequency of hotspot is Sidorejo Lor, Mangunsari and Kutowinangun. Using Local Moran’s I method, the spatial pattern of the distribution of dengue could be visualized in form of LISA (Local Indicator Spatial Association) map. The map is categorized into HH, HL, LH dan LL. The ABJ value is not significant with the dengue happenings in each village. The area with high ABJ is not followed by the high value of dengue happening. Based on the choropleth, it could be described that the dengue happening is caused by the dense of the population. The result of this study could be used as a tool to control and identify the cause of dengue.]]>

<![CDATA[Informatics Engineering Department Petra Christian University do inspection process for judicium manually. This manual process spends considerable time and difficulty in adjusting to the curriculum and regulations. Based on the problems faced by the Department of Informatics, the author develops an application to help speed up and simplify the judicium inspection. This application includes the setting of curriculum, setting fields of study, inspection requirements judicium, determining areas of study graduated students and graduation report. This application was created using ASP.Net programming language and MYSQL as a database. Based on the testing processes, this application has been able to meet the needs of Department of Informatics in the judicium inspection process.]]>

<![CDATA[Computer-Based Testing (CBT) program was launched for years to give test takers the options of taking computerized version of test. The application which generates academic score is developed as a server-side with Adobe Flash. Flash is well known as a powerful and dynamic front-end for the Web. However, Flash is also great interface for server-side applications. PHP can launch server-side script using Flash as a front-end and pass variables back and forth between Flash and the PHP pages. Along with PHP, MySQL can be used to store data and later retrieve it. Using Flash as a front-end, data and variables are passed between the MySQL database, PHP, and Flash to enhance application's functionality in managing databases.]]>

<![CDATA[This Research conducted to develop geographic information system (GIS) that can be used to manage data and visualize the earthquake information. The research methodology consisted of collecting spatial data and non spatial data and system design. System design consists of designing the flow of data, designing databases, designing menus and design screens. The conclusion that can be drawn from this study is that GIS is developed to display information about how the earthquake that has been and is happening with magnitude parameters in a visual form suitable conditions. GIS is designed to use its own database and have the capacity to perform spatial data processing and non-spatial to generate a tsunami early warning system. This system can also simplify and accelerate the delivery of earthquake information to the public.]]>

Both Web Service technologies, of course, have advantages and disadvantages. In this paper, we discuss the comparison of the two technologies is a Java Web Service in relation to the development of GIS application (Geographic Information System) integrates the use of data-formatted GML (Geography Markup Language), which is stored in the system database XML (eXtensible Markup Language).]]>

<![CDATA[Informatics department of Petra Christian University has used to practice programming for students at programming studio, especially students who take algorithms and programming course. The system is currently implemented is to provide practice programming skill according to their ability. Assessment is done by calculating the points of all questions are done correctly. Problem which occurs at about the work in programming studio is plagiarism among students’ work. Unfortunately, plagiarism checking consumes a lot of time. In one semester, each student can do about 100 questions. If the total of students taking programming course, at least 100 people, we need many people to do this work. Departing from this problem, we design and develop an application to check for plagiarism between two different answer files from the same question. The degree of similarity is calculated using combined method of Jaccard similarity coefficient and cosine similarity coefficient. This system is able to check similarities in source code files are the work of students with moderate levels of complexity.]]>

<![CDATA[The number of client server applications using both desktop and WEB Application makes every user must have a lot of user id and password that must be memorized, because each application must require authentication in order to utilize the application for security reasons. Besides the development of network media is also growing use of both wired and wireless. From the above explanation RADIUS technology is desperately needed in the case described above, since the RADIUS method allows a user simply has a userID for access to multiple applications, both desktop and WEB application. RADIUS can also integrated method of wired and wireless media.]]>
