Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the backbone of inclusive eco-nomic development in Indonesia. However, in addition to internal challenges, MSMEs also face external threats in the form of extortion practices carried out by unscrupulous community organizations (CSOs). This study aims to examine conceptually and liter-arily the practice of extortion by mass organizations, its impact on MSMEs, and how it creates economic burden and legal uncertainty for small business actors. The method used is a literature review by tracing academic journals, books, and relevant recent news. The results of the study show that extortion practices increase the operational costs of MSMEs, reduce competitiveness, and widen economic disparities. In addition, this practice also undermines the ideal role of mass organizations as development partners and reduces the level of public trust in the legal system. These findings em-phasize the importance of academic and policy attention to non-structural external threats that have so far received less attention in the discourse of populist economics.

Abstract

As the Eid Al-Fitr Holiday approaches, the public’s demand for cash increases significantly, especially for Holiday Allowance. This situation is often exploited by irresponsible individuals to circulate counterfeit money. This article discusses the strategic role of the central bank in combating the increased circulation of counterfeit money that occurs each Eid. Through qualitative methods and a descriptive approach, this research examines secondary data from various sources, including official reports from the central bank. The study results show that the central bank actively maintains economic stability through currency verification services, providing expert testimony in legal processes, strengthening the security features of new currency, and educating the public through the Love, Proud, Understanding Rupiah program. The decrease in the ratio of counterfeit money from year to year reflects the success of the preventive and educational measures taken by the central bank.

Abstract

Pertamina’s monopoly over aviation fuel and domestic fuel markets drives high prices and poor fuel quality, exacerbated by systemic issuesw This study examines the impacts of Pertamina’s monopoly, using a literature review, simple regression, and real-time data from Trading Economics, Statista, ESDM, supported by 10 monopoly-focused journals. The 2025 corruption scandal (Rp 193.7 trillion loss) reinforces monopolistic inefficiencies, with overpriced imports (Rp 11.7 trillion) strengthening avtur dominance, raising aviation costs by 10-15%. Monopoly-driven quality omission increases pollution by 8% (Rp 8 trillion health costs). Global oil prices fell 13.86% (Brent USD 64.35/barrel, June 2025), but domestic fuel prices only dropped 4.85% (Pertalite Rp 12,100/liter) due to monopolistic pricing and low elasticity (0.35). Weak KPPU oversight and UU No. 5/1999 enforcement worsen inefficiencies. Blockchain-based supply chain transparency could reduce losses by 20-30%, fostering competition.

Abstract

This study examines the origins and development of skeptical theism a philosophical position that reconciles belief in God with the recognition of human cognitive limitations in understanding divine providence, particularly regarding the problem of evil. While skeptical theism formally emerged in modern philosophy, its foundations can be traced to Enlightenment thinkers who grappled with the boundaries of human reason and faith. Through historical-philosophical and analytical methods, this work analyzes the contributions of six key figures John Locke, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, David Hume, Denis Diderot, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, and Immanuel Kant demonstrating how their diverse perspectives shaped the epistemological framework of skeptical theism. Locke’s empiricism and Leibniz’s rational theodicy laid early groundwork, while Hume’s radical skepticism and Diderot’s materialism, though atheistic, inadvertently reinforced the notion of cognitive limits. Rousseau’s natural religion and Kant’s critical philosophy further refined the balance between faith and reason, emphasizing the inscrutability of divine will. The study highlights how these thinkers, whether theistic or not, collectively advanced the principle of epistemological humility a core tenet of skeptical theism. By offering a comparative analysis rarely found in existing literature, this essay bridges historical and contemporary debates on theodicy, divine hiddenness, and the rationality of religious belief. Its findings are relevant to philosophy of religion, epistemology, and interdisciplinary studies, providing a foundation for further research on skeptical theism’s dialogue with modern movements like reformed epistemology.

Abstract

The ability to represent data graphically is a crucial skill in learning statistics, yet it involves complex semiotic processes that are often influenced by students’ cognitive styles. This study was conducted to explore the semiotic complexity of high school students’ statistical graphs about their cognitive styles: field dependent (FD) and field independent (FI). Using a descriptive qualitative approach, four 12th-grade students were selected based on the Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT) and a standardized mathematics ability test to ensure cognitive style categorization and equal academic level. Data were collected through a Semiotic Graph Complexity Test (TKSG) and semi-structured interviews focusing on four semiotic components: problems, actions, concepts, and properties. The findings show that students with FI cognitive styles demonstrated a higher level of semiotic complexity, reaching the "joint graphs" level, characterized by coherent integration of data, appropriate graph selection, and accurate symbolic interpretation. In contrast, FD students exhibited lower levels of complexity, often limited to literal and superficial representations. These results confirm that cognitive styles significantly affect students’ abilities to transform statistical data into meaningful graphical representations. This study highlights the importance of differentiated instruction based on cognitive styles, suggesting explicit scaffolding for FD students and more explorative tasks for FI students to enhance graph comprehension and statistical literacy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of transformational leadership style of madrasah principals and teachers' work ethic on students' learning outcomes. The research is grounded in the urgency of improving learning quality in madrasahs through the optimization of leadership roles and teacher professionalism. A quantitative associative approach was employed in this study. A purposive sample of 176 eighth-grade students from four madrasah tsanawiyah in Batu Ampar District, East Kalimantan, was selected. Data were collected through a validated and reliable Likert-scale questionnaire. Out of the total responses, 173 were returned in usable condition and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results revealed that both transformational leadership and teachers' work ethic significantly influence students' learning outcomes, both partially and simultaneously. These findings emphasize the importance of inspirational leadership and a strong work ethic in fostering a conducive learning environment in madrasahs. The practical implication of this study encourages the development of principal leadership training and continuous teacher work ethic enhancement programs. Furthermore, this research enriches the literature on Islamic educational leadership and serves as a reference for policymaking in improving madrasah education quality.

Abstract

Sergei Bulgakov's sophiology offers a distinctive contribution to Russian religious philosophy by incorporating Divine Wisdom (Sophia) into Trinitarian theology, thereby bridging materialism and idealism while addressing the existential and theological crises of modernity. This study investigates historical parallels between Bulgakov's sophiological framework and ancient philosophical-theological traditions, aiming to demonstrate how these connections revitalize Orthodox theology and illuminate mediating principles in divine-human relations. An interdisciplinary methodology is applied, combining historical-philosophical analysis, comparative-theological examination, and detailed textual interpretation of primary sources. Bulgakov's major works are scrutinized alongside writings by early Christian figures (Origen, Arius, and Gnostic texts) and the Middle Platonist Plutarch, with attention to the socio-political context of early 20th-century Russia influencing Bulgakov's intellectual development. The comparative analysis uncovers profound parallels: Origen's emanationist theology and allegorical methods correspond to Bulgakov's portrayal of Sophia as a hypostatic bridge; Arius's emphasis on hypostatic distinctions echoes Bulgakov's non-hierarchical quadriform divine structure (God–Sophia–Holy Spirit–Son); Valentinian Gnostic aeonic emanations shape his fourfold essences; and Plutarch's daimonic intermediaries reflect Sophia's function in mediating between transcendent and immanent realms. The research asserts that: 1) Bulgakov innovatively retrieves and orthodoxizes ancient motifs, adapting emanationist and mediating principles to avoid heresy while enriching Trinitarian doctrine; 2) his sophiology critiques dogmatic rigidity and dualistic extremes, affirming the inherent divinity and goodness of creation; 3) this framework provides lasting relevance for contemporary theology, promoting mystical unity, ecumenical dialogue and a holistic understanding of human-divine interaction amid modern challenges.

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital devices in the telecommunications sector has become a major driver of the global economy. It is pushing Indonesia to adapt to increase national competitiveness towards the Vision of Golden Indonesia 2045. Digital communication innovations, such as 5G networks, the Internet of Things (IoT), and data-based services, play a crucial role in accelerating national economic transformation by increasing efficiency, connectivity, and productivity across sectors. Therefore, it is important to examine the extent to which telecommunications digitalization strengthens global competitiveness while reducing economic disparities between regions. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method, drawing on literature analysis, secondary data, and case studies in the digital finance sector, the manufacturing industry, and public services based on telecommunications technology. Empirical analysis shows that internet penetration in Indonesia has increased consistently during the 2022–2025 period, from around 67 percent in 2022 to 69 percent in 2023, then rising to 71 percent in 2024, and reaching around 72 percent in 2025. This trend reflects the continued growth in information technology adoption. National Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth remained relatively stable at around 5 percent during the same period, with little variation. The study's findings indicate that telecommunications digitalization serves as a structural catalyst, accelerating economic transformation, expanding financial inclusion, improving public governance efficiency, and strengthening the competitiveness of the national industry. In conclusion, digital telecommunications innovation is a strategic foundation for Indonesia's more efficient, inclusive, globally competitive, and sustainable economic development.

Abstract

The study used a quasi-experimental design to examine how non-digital gamified instruction influenced the learning of rational exponents. The objectives of this study were to investigate the effects of non-digital gamification on students’ mathematics achievement and to explore their motivation and engagement in learning rational exponents. The study involved 30 Grade 11 students, and both achievement and motivation in mathematics were examined. Thirty students completed six sessions of gamified mathematics activities. The course modules included gamified components such as games, rewards, peer competition, and achievement goals. The pedagogy was based on Self-Determination Theory and Constructivist Learning Theory. It highlighted autonomy, competence, and involvement. The learning outcome test comprised 15 open-ended items assessing four cognitive domains: knowledge, comprehension, application, and analysis. The data was analysed using a paired-samples t-test. Post-test scores (M = 8.19, SD = 2.80) were significantly higher than pre-test scores (M = 6.44, SD = 3.62), t(29) = 5.99, p < .001. It was an educationally meaningful improvement (effect size, Cohen’s d = 0.54). Qualitative reflections confirmed the quantitative findings. Students reported that the game-based activities increased their interest and attention. They also noted better relationship-building and stronger cooperation during the lessons. Altogether, the results support the notion that classroom gamification provides an effective mechanism for enhancing students’ academic achievement and motivation without relying on digital technology. The findings of this study suggest that non-digital gamification is a useful pedagogical method for advancing mathematics achievement at the upper secondary level.
