Abstract

A textbook is a set of learning materials that are systematically arranged and display the integrity of the competencies that will be mastered by students in learning activities. This Community Service (CS) activity aims to provide training in Writing 1001 Types of Formulas and Smart Tricks for Elementary and Middle School Mathematics to students who are actively studying and come from several classes of the Mathematics Education study program, Ibrahimy University, Situbondo. The understanding gained from this training can later be used to produce writings in the form of elementary and middle school mathematics books. A total of twenty-six students participated in this writing training, which was held twice a week for one month, namely in February 2025. From the results of the pre-test and post-test, it was seen that each participant experienced an increase in writing scores after receiving the training. In addition, data from the interview process showed the perceptions of the participants who gave a positive response to this book-writing training. This CS activity implies that we know what difficulties Mathematics Education students experience in learning to write books and solutions, and what can be done to help them. However, the drawback of this book-writing training is that it only involved a relatively small number of participants and in a relatively short time. The next writing training can recruit more participants and increase the training time longer, so that maximum results can be obtained.

Abstract

Thalassaemia has been proclaimed a global health challenge by the World Health Organization (WHO) due to its presence in many areas of the world. Challenges faced by children with thalassaemia include physical, psychological, social and academic difficulties that affect their Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL). However, the HRQoL from Islamic perspective is not only seen from physical, social, and psychological aspects, but also spiritual and moral aspects. The present study aimed to explore the Islamic view of the differences in Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) between children with thalassaemia major and healthy children. This study uses a library research method, which is a comprehensive review of the literature sources. The findings indicate that the conditions experienced by children with major thalassemia and healthy children can be understood as part of Allah’s divine decree, which contains wisdom and meaning. Islam emphasizes that a person’s value before Allah is not determined by physical, psychological, or social perfection, but rather by their piety and deeds. Accordingly, this study is expected to contribute to healthcare professionals, educators, and parents or caregivers by encouraging them to consider not only children’s physical and psychological conditions but also their spiritual well-being and sense of meaning in life.

Abstract

This study explores how proactive service (jemput bola) influences customer loyalty in Islamic microfinance institutions, particularly at BMT NU East Java, and examines the role of customer trust in this relationship. The research is motivated by the growing shift toward digital financial services, raising questions about whether direct, face-to-face service approaches remain effective. Using a quantitative method, data were collected from 70 customers through purposive sampling and analyzed using SEM-PLS. The findings show that proactive service has a strong and significant impact on customer loyalty. Customer trust also plays an important role in strengthening loyalty. However, it was found that trust does not act as a moderating variable in the relationship between proactive service and customer loyalty. This indicates that customers tend to respond directly to the quality of service they receive, without necessarily relying on trust as an intermediary factor. Overall, the study highlights that the jemput bola strategy remains relevant and valuable, especially in building close relationships with customers, even in the midst of increasing digitalization in the financial sector.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of statistical literacy and critical thinking skills on student learning outcomes in statistics material at SMAN Purwoharjo, Banyuwangi. The study used a quantitative correlational approach with 36 students of grade X in the even semester as subjects. Data were collected through statistical literacy tests, critical thinking skills assessment instruments, and statistical material learning outcome tests. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression. The results showed that statistical literacy and critical thinking skills had a positive and significant effect on student learning outcomes, both partially and simultaneously. The coefficient of determination value of R² was 0,72 indicates that 72% of the variation in student learning outcomes can be explained by statistical literacy and critical thinking skills. Partially, critical thinking skills have a greater contribution, namely β = 0,471, compared to statistical literacy with β = 0,401. These findings indicate that statistical learning outcomes are not only influenced by calculation skills, but also by the ability to understand data, interpret statistical information, evaluate arguments, and draw logical conclusions.
