Abstract

This study aims to analyze trends, opportunities, challenges, and research gaps regarding the implications of China's Maritime Silk Road (MSR) on Indonesia's maritime geo-economic development. Employing a systematic literature review (SLR) based on the PRISMA framework for publications from 2018-2025 across Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar, the study found a significant increase in MSR-related research concerning Indonesia since 2018, with stable publication growth and one projected study in 2025. The analysis reveals that MSR offers substantial opportunities for Indonesia, including accelerating maritime infrastructure (e.g., port and logistics investments), enhancing trade connectivity, potential foreign direct investment, and technology transfer. However, these opportunities are accompanied by significant challenges and risks such as potential debt dependency, environmental impacts from large-scale projects, issues of economic sovereignty, maritime security, and local industry competition. This study extends regional connectivity and sustainable development theories by positioning project governance and risk mitigation as crucial, complementary mechanisms within the Indonesian maritime geo-economic context. The research concludes that significant gaps remain, particularly in analyzing long-term socio-economic impacts on coastal communities, the effectiveness of national policies in balancing opportunities and risks, and inter-regional comparisons, all of which necessitate an interdisciplinary approach for robust evidence-based policy recommendations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze research developments, impacts, strengthening strategies, challenges, and research gaps regarding the relationship between religious pluralism and social cohesion in multicultural societies. The research uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with reference to the PRISMA guidelines. Data were obtained from the Scopus, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and DOAJ databases through the process of identification, screening, feasibility assessment, and thematic synthesis of 25 articles that met the inclusion criteria. The results of the study show that research on religious pluralism and social cohesion has increased in the period 2024–2026 with the dominance of qualitative studies in Indonesia. The findings indicate that religious pluralism can strengthen social cohesion through increased tolerance, empathy, solidarity, mutual respect, and inclusive character formation when supported by interfaith dialogue, religious moderation, collaborative governance, inclusive public policies, and strengthening local wisdom values. On the other hand, religious pluralism also faces various challenges, such as limited capacity of mediation institutions, symbolic segregation, participation inequality, intolerance, radicalism, socio-economic inequality, and the spread of hate speech that has the potential to weaken social cohesion. This study emphasizes that the management of religious diversity requires a multidimensional approach that integrates education, dialogue, public policy, leadership, and community participation. In addition, there are still research gaps related to the evaluation of long-term policy effectiveness, the influence of digital transformation on interreligious relations, and cross-regional and cross-cultural comparative analysis. These findings are expected to be the basis for policy development and further research in strengthening social cohesion in multicultural societies

Abstract

Generation Z has become the largest voting bloc within Indonesia's political demography, yet this numerical dominance has not automatically translated into proportional engagement in formal political activities, including party membership and cadre development. This article examines the strategies political parties employ to stimulate Generation Z's political participation and identifies the supporting and inhibiting factors involved. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with a case-study design, data were gathered through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and organizational document review within a regional political party structure. The findings reveal four principal strategic domains: adaptive digital communication aligned with youth platform culture, participatory political education, strengthened tiered cadre regeneration, and direct involvement of Generation Z in party agendas and decision-making. Supporting factors include organizational openness and digital resource availability, while inhibiting factors include residual political apathy, limited substantive political literacy, and a tendency toward episodic, symbolic participation. These findings extend the Civic Voluntarism Model by foregrounding digital recruitment as a contemporary political pathway, while underscoring that the sustainability of Generation Z's participation depends on institutional consistency in providing meaningful space rather than digital visibility alone
