Abstract

The development of digital technology and social media provides both opportunities and challenges for the preservation of traditional arts such as Wayang Golek from West Java, which is rich in cultural, moral, and Islamic preaching values. Wayang Golek has long served as a medium for da'wah, conveying religious teachings creatively through artistic performances. However, changes in the preferences of younger generations who favor instant digital content put this traditional art at risk of being forgotten. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach to examine the role of social media in revitalizing Wayang Golek as a medium for cultural preservation and Islamic da'wah. The research results show that social media such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok play an important role in expanding access and public interest, especially among young people, through interactive and engaging educational content. However, limitations in technological proficiency and lack of support are major obstacles. Social media. It not only functions as a tool for communication and entertainment but also serves as a means of documentation and cultural education that can build virtual communities and a strong cultural identity. This study recommends strengthening digital training for artists, cross-sector collaboration, and creative content innovation to maintain the relevance and sustainability of Wayang Golek in the modern era. Adapting digital technology is an important strategy to align the preservation of traditional arts with the development of the times without losing the essence of cultural values and the messages contained within.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the sorogan and bandongan methods in Islamic boarding school (pesantren) learning through the perspective of educational psychology. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach based on library research, this study explores the relevance of these traditional teaching methods to behaviorist, cognitivist, and constructivist learning theories. The findings reveal that the sorogan method, which emphasizes personal interaction between students (santri) and teachers (kiai), plays a crucial role in improving reading accuracy, learning discipline, independence, and metacognitive abilities. Meanwhile, the bandongan method, which is conducted collectively, proves effective in strengthening conceptual understanding, fostering social learning, and internalizing moral and spiritual values within a communal context. The integration of these two methods represents a synergy between the intellectual tradition of pesantren and the principles of modern educational psychology that emphasize affective, cognitive, and psychomotor aspects. The results indicate that the combined application of sorogan and bandongan can support the development of an adaptive pesantren curriculum aligned with the demands of 21st-century education while maintaining the Islamic scholarly tradition that serves as the foundation for character formation and personal development.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the impact of the Jumat Bersih (Clean Friday) activity on enhancing the interpersonal intelligence of early childhood learners, as well as the challenges encountered during its implementation. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Observations were conducted directly and recorded on observation sheets, interviews were carried out using pre-prepared question guides, and documentation was obtained directly from the school. Data analysis utilized thematic analysis with a triangulation method. The results of the study indicate that the Jumat Bersih activity plays a significant role in facilitating the social learning process among young children. The activity supports the development of cooperation, effective communication, empathy, and conflict resolution skills. The positive impacts observed during the activity were also reflected in the children’s daily behaviors, both at school and at home. Therefore, such activities can serve as an effective learning model for strengthening interpersonal intelligence. The main challenges in implementing Jumat Bersih include differences in children’s social abilities, difficulties in guiding balanced interactions, and the need for consistent strategies from schools and teachers. However, these challenges can be addressed through appropriate approaches, active guidance, and collaboration between schools and parents

Abstract

The tradition of pregnant women hiding under the bed during a lunar eclipse is still found in some Muslim communities in Indonesia. This tradition is believed to serve as a means of protecting the fetus from the negative impacts of the eclipse, both physically and metaphysically. This study aims to examine this tradition from the perspective of Living Hadith, namely how the Prophet’s hadiths are understood, interpreted, and practiced within the social life of the community. This research employs a qualitative approach using field study methods, including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that this tradition has no direct textual basis in the Prophet’s hadiths; rather, it has developed through processes of religious interpretation, local myths, and traditional knowledge that are associated with Islamic teachings. The community often relates this tradition to hadiths concerning eclipses as signs of God’s power and as moments to increase supplication and prayer. This tradition reflects a form of acculturation between Islamic values and local culture, while also demonstrating how hadiths are “lived” within the collective consciousness of the Muslim community, even when such practices do not fully align with the textual meanings of the hadiths.

Abstract

Obligatory prayer is a fundamental act of worship in Islam; performing it earns reward, while neglecting it results in sin for those who have fulfilled the required conditions, namely being of legal age (baligh), of sound mind, and free from ritual impurity (hadath). The background of this study is important for understanding how the values upheld by classical fiqh scholars and Islamic teachings can be interpreted in a way that connects traditional understanding with the needs of the Muslim community in the modern era. This research aims to identify, analyze, and compare the values of farḍu prayer based on the perspectives of different groups of scholars. The results show that classical scholars emphasize values such as obedience, order, legal aspects, discipline, and devotion (khushu’). In contrast, contemporary scholars place greater emphasis on personal transformation, social ethics, and the importance of prayer in shaping the character of the modern Muslim.The conclusion is that these two perspectives can be integrated to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the values of farḍu prayer that remain relevant for all times. Farḍu prayer holds a central position in Islam as the second pillar of Islam after the declaration of faith (shahada) and consists of five daily prayers: Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha.

Abstract

Social media, initially projected as a democratic discourse space, has instead become trapped in the echo chamber phenomenon, narrowing the intellectual horizons of its users. This research aims to analyze the echo chamber phenomenon on social media through the lens of Max Horkheimer’s critical theory, specifically the concept of the "Eclipse of Reason." The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive with a literature study and philosophical analysis approach. The results indicate that social media algorithms have shifted objective reason into instrumental reason, where truth is measured solely by efficacy and confirmation of personal beliefs. The analysis in this article concludes that social media functions as an "eclipse of reason" machine that stifles the critical reasoning abilities of individuals. This process occurs when reason is no longer used to critically dissect reality but serves merely as a technical tool to adapt to homogeneous information flows. The death of critical reason is not merely a technical byproduct of algorithms but a manifestation of the dominance of formal rationality that sidelines human values in the digital sphere.

Abstract

Amaliyah tadris or teaching practice is an activity in the form of teaching practice carried out by someone in a guided manner to acquire skills in giving lessons and taken within a certain time as one of the requirements for fulfilling the program. Amaliyah tadris is an important program that is taught to students to improve student competence in order to become professional teachers, and as a provision to prepare for the delivery of their knowledge to students or the public, especially in terms of education. Based on the problems above, this study has 3 objectives related to the research focus of the Implementation of the Amaliyah Tadris Program to Improve Student Competence in Teaching Class XI at MAN 5 Jombang. The research objectives are 1) to describe and explain the implementation of the amaliyah tadris program at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 5 Jombang. 2) To describe and explain efforts to improve student competence in teaching at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 5 Jombang. 3) To describe and explain the supporting and inhibiting factors for implementing the amaliyah tadris program to improve student competence in teaching Class XI at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 5 Jombang. The type of research used in this research is field research. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection was carried out using interviews, observation techniques, and documentation. Informants in this study consisted of Deputy Head of Student Affairs, Head of the Amaliyah Tadris Program, Madrasah Teachers where the Amaliyah Tadris program was implemented, Students. The data collected for observation and interviews were analyzed using data source triangulation analysis techniques. Based on the results of the study it was found that: Micro teaching at MAN 5 Jombang is packaged in the form of the Amaliyah Tadris program or teaching practice. For this program conceptualized by group division. Each group consists of 8 members and is placed in 18 TPQ Institutions. Placement at the TPQ institution also has conditions with a distance of 5-7 km from MAN 5 Jombang.

Abstract

Islamic education plays a strategic role in promoting social transformation amid the dynamics of societal change. Islamic education functions not only as a medium for the transmission of knowledge and religious values, but also as an instrument for character building, social awareness, and the strengthening of moral and spiritual values. This article aims to examine the concept of Islamic education and its relevance to the process of social transformation, as well as to analyze the roles and challenges of Islamic education in responding to modern social changes. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach through library research by analyzing relevant literature sources, including books, scholarly journals, and supporting documents. The findings indicate that Islamic education contributes significantly to the development of a moral, just, and socially responsible society. Islamic education serves as an agent of social change through the internalization of ethical values, intellectual development, and balanced spiritual guidance. However, Islamic education also faces various challenges such as globalization, modernization, and cultural change. Therefore, strengthening adaptive and contextual strategies in Islamic education is essential to ensure its continued relevance in fostering positive social transformation.

Abstract

Education is a planned effort aimed at creating an effective learning environment where students can develop their potentials; it seeks to ensure that students become individuals who are confident, competent, independent, and responsible. Introducing students to the Qur'an is one of the ways to increase their faith. Education that includes Qur'an study has a very broad purpose, with its main goal being to influence the individual as a being who obeys their Creator and to reflect this through Islamic values. This study aims to evaluate the Tahfiz Qur'an program at SMA-TQ Mu'adz bin Jabal using the CIPP evaluation model. The research was conducted at SMA-TQ Mu'adz bin Jabal Kendari, using a qualitative descriptive method with the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, and Product). The reason the author uses the CIPP evaluation model to evaluate the Tahfiz Al-Quran program is because it provides relevance in the decision-making process related to the planning of the program being implemented.The data collection process was conducted using observation and interview techniques. The results of this study show that the Tahfidz Al-Quran program at SMA-TQ Mu'adz bin Jabal Kendari has made real progress or development in every component—context, input, process, and product. These range from human resources supporting the program to facilities that do not create much burden and do not require special funding. However, the collaboration between the school and the parents has not yet been effectively implemented; this is because not every parent is able to track their children’s progress in Quran memorization.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the At-Turats Book Study Program using the Context, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP) evaluation model to provide an overview of the program’s relevance, resource readiness, implementation, and outcomes. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through observation and interviews. The results show that in terms of context, the study of classical texts meets the needs of the santri and aligns with the vision of Ma’had Al-Jami’ah, which aims to deepen religious and cultural understanding. In terms of input, the program is supported by qualified instructors and representative classical reference books, although there are still limitations in the number of teachers, the varying abilities of the santri, and supporting facilities. Regarding the process, the study is carried out using the halaqah method with a bandongan approach, which is relatively consistent, although the participation and interaction of the santri are limited. Some santri are still hesitant to engage actively in discussions, which can reduce the effectiveness of learning. In terms of product, the program has a positive impact, including an improvement in religious understanding, the development of more moderate and tolerant religious attitudes, and enhanced ability to comprehend classical texts among some of the santri. Overall, the program has achieved its main objectives but still requires improvement in terms of facilities and interaction during the learning process.
