Abstract

Artificial Intelligence; Digital Tourism; Social Media; Cultural promotion; Minahasa The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers new opportunities for promoting cultural tourism through social media. This study aims to explore the use of AI in creating digital content related to Minahasa culture and to understand public perception of its application. A qualitative descriptive method with a digital simulation and online survey approach was employed, involving 30 student respondents aged 18–22 from Manado and surrounding areas. Data were collected through downloading cultural content from Instagram, generating AI-based automatic captions, and distributing online questionnaires to assess respondents’ perceptions. The results indicate that AI can effectively recognize visual elements of Minahasa culture, such as traditional houses, Tinutuan cuisine, and traditional dances, producing captions that are clear, informative, and engaging. Respondents perceived that AI-assisted content can broaden the reach of promotion, enhance content creativity, and facilitate audience understanding of Minahasa culture. However, AI has limitations in capturing non-visual contexts, such as prices, services, local expressions, and specific cultural elements. The majority of respondents agreed that AI should be used as a supportive tool, with human oversight necessary to ensure content authenticity, accuracy, and cultural relevance. This study confirms that AI implementation can improve the effectiveness of digital cultural tourism promotion in Minahasa while maintaining a balance between technological automation and human input to preserve the integrity of local culture.

Abstract

Abstract

This research analyzes the role of sharia hotels in strengthening the brand of Padang Panjang City as the Veranda Of Mecca. Using descriptive qualitative methods, data were collected through observations and in-depth interviews at several sharia hotels. The results show that sharia hotels play a strategic role in building the city's religious identity through the application of sharia principles to services, facilities, operational policies, and hotel ethics. The presence of sharia hotels not only strengthens the city's Islamic image but also impacts the local economy, tourist comfort, and increases public sharia literacy. However, obstacles remain, such as the lack of standard sharia certification and variations in the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) at each hotel. Strategies such as strengthening sharia-based SOPs, collaborating with halal MSMEs, and ethical digital promotion have proven effective in supporting Padang Panjang's brand as the Kota Serambi Mekkah. This study concludes that sharia hotels function as cultural, religious, and economic instruments that strengthen the sustainability of the city's identity based on Islamic values.

Abstract

Despite the growing prominence of music festivals as experiential tourism products, limited empirical research has integrated perceived music quality and place within a unified behavioral framework, particularly in emerging economies. This study investigates how perceived music quality and place influence visitors’ revisit intention, with satisfaction acting as a mediating variable. Drawing on the Stimulus Organism Response (SOR) framework, a quantitative research design was employed. Data were collected via an online questionnaire from 220 visitors who had attended large scale music festivals in Indonesia within the previous year. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to test the proposed relationships. The findings indicate that both perceived music quality and place have significant positive effects on visitor satisfaction, with place exerting a substantially stronger influence. Moreover, satisfaction significantly mediates the effects of perceived music quality and place on revisit intention. The model demonstrates moderate to strong explanatory power, highlighting satisfaction as a key psychological mechanism linking festival attributes to behavioral intentions. This study extends the application of the SOR framework to music festival tourism in a developing country context and offers practical insights for festival organizers and destination managers seeking to enhance visitor satisfaction and foster repeat visitation through strategic improvements in musical performance and place-based experiences.

Abstract

The Aek Martua Waterfall area in Rokan Hulu, Riau, is one of the region’s prominent natural tourist destinations, renowned for its tiered waterfalls and well-preserved forest environment. However, the forest fire that occurred in July 2025 had a significant impact on the sustainability of tourism in this area. This study aims to examine the post-fire condition of tourism at Aek Martua Waterfall, including environmental impacts, changes in visitor numbers, and the effects on the local community’s economy. Previous research describes ecotourism as a form of tourism conducted in natural environments, emphasizing minimal negative environmental impact and providing socio-economic benefits for local communities. Additionally, ecotourism is considered a nature-based tourism sector that supports sustainable development (Nugroho, 2015). This study employs a qualitative research method through literature review and field observation. The findings indicate that the forest fire caused severe ecological damage, including the loss of part of the Tahura forest area, destruction of natural ecosystems, and a decline in the visual quality and attractiveness of the destination. These conditions negatively affected visitor comfort and safety. Despite this, some positive impacts were observed, such as improved accessibility to the tourist site; however, the ecological damage outweighs these benefits, making comprehensive recovery efforts essential. The results highlight the importance of sustainable environmental management, enhanced monitoring and education to prevent forest fires, and the development of conservation-based tourism to ensure the long-term sustainability of Aek Martua as a natural destination

Abstract

Traffic violation enforcement carried out by traffic officers is implemented in accordance with applicable regulations. Traffic violators are subject to sanctions in the form of warnings or traffic fines, which can be paid at the Lhokseumawe District Attorney’s Office or through Bank Aceh Syariah. However, the management of traffic fine payment data is still conducted manually, causing delays in data processing and monthly as well as annual report preparation due to the absence of an integrated information system. This study aims to develop a web-based traffic fine payment information system that supports data management and notification services. The research method used is a system development approach consisting of data collection, system analysis, system design, implementation, and system testing. The developed system is integrated with an SMS Gateway to deliver payment notifications to traffic violators and is capable of automatically generating monthly and annual traffic fine reports. The results of this study indicate that the proposed system improves the efficiency and accuracy of traffic fine data processing, reduces reporting delays, and facilitates the performance of officers in managing traffic fine payments.
