Journal of tourism science, technology and industry E-ISSN 2962-5378 merupakan jurnal ilmiah di bidang kepariwisataan yang diterbitkan oleh Program Studi Pariwisata, Fakultas Seni Rupa dan Desain, Institut Seni Indonesia Padang Panjang. Jurnal ini bertujuan untuk menyebarluaskan informasi hasil-hasil penelitian dan pengembangan, kajian serta pemikiran tentang kepariwisataan. Penyebarluasan tersebut diharapkan dapat dimanfaatkan dalam praktik mengidentifikasi dan menyelesaikan permasalahan untuk tujuan pengembangan kepariwisataan. Jurnal ini diterbitkan 2 kali dalam setahun pada Juni dan Desember secara online dengan menggunakan platform OJS (Online Journal System). Redaksi menerima naskah ilmiah dari para peneliti, dosen, dan praktisi dengan tema kajian kepariwisataan yang ditelaah secara multidisiplin dan disajikan sesuai kriteria yang ditentukan oleh jurnal ini.

Abstract

Pelatihan pembuatan komik untuk pengembangan branding desa wisata kubu gadang di Desa Wisata Kubu Gadang adalah untuk memaksimalkan potensi desa wisata Kubu Gadang. Semenjak di tetapkan sebagai desa wisata, Kubu Gadang belum memiliki posisi branding maksimal sebagai destinasi pariwisata. Kubu Gadang cukup ramai dikunjungi wisatawan baik dalam negeri atau pun manca Negara. Pada saat Covid-19 melanda, jumlah wisatawan yang datang sedikit mengalami kemerosotan. Namun setelah masa adaptasi kebiasaan baru yang dicanangkan oleh pemerintah dengan program 3M nya, maka secara berangsur-angsur Kubu Gadang mulai kembali ramai dikunjungi.Pelatihan pembuatan komik untuk pengembangan branding desa wisata kubu gadang. Pelatihan ini di pilih karena memiliki kelebihan antara lain bisa dikerjakan secara mandiri oleh masyarakat lokal, serta menambah keahlian penduduk sekitar destinasi dalam menulis skenario dalam komik serta mendesain grafis gambar komik. Produk yang dihasilkan nantinya akan digunakan dan dimanfaatkan untuk kegiatan kepariwisatawan.Kegiatan pelatihan ini sangat menjanjikan untuk meningkatkan keahlian atau keterampilan  masyarakat. Pelatihan yang ditujukan ke Pokdarwis Kubu Gadang, diharapkan akan memotivasi anggotanya untuk berkreasi menghasilkan karya berupa komik Kubu Gadang. Kemudian juga bisa dikembangkan untuk menghasilkan beragam produk komik lainnya sesuai dengan kreativitas dari pembuatnya. Pelatihan ini diberikan kepada generasi muda Kubu Gadang agar bisa diteruskan ke kelompok masyarakat lainnya.

Abstract

Manajemen pengetahuan (Knowledge Management) merupakan dasar dari sebuah efektivitas dan efesiensi dalam operasional bisnis suatu perusahaan yang juga menjadi pendukung daya saing perusahaa dalam berkompetisi.  Dalam hal ini, kinerja pegawai Front Desk Agent menjadi kunci dalam memberikan kepuasan kepada setiap tamu yang ada di hotel, dikarenakan pegawai Front Desk Agent merupakan tempat pertama dan terakhir yang dijumpai oleh tamu sehingga kesan pertama dan terakhir dibentuk oleh Front Desk Agent.Penelitian yang dilaksanakan oleh penulis menggunakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode penelitian kualitatif dilakukan secara intensif, dimana penulis juga ikut berpartisipasi dalam mencatat hal-hal yang terjadi di lapangan. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya sebuah pengetahuan (Knowledge) dalam bekerja baik di suatu organisasi maupun perusahaan. Dalam penelitian ini penulis juga mencari tahu tentang penerapan Knowledge Management yang dilaksanakan ketika operasional sedang berlangsung.  Dalam pelaksanaannya Knowledge Management di Vanilla Hotel Batam saat ini dapat dikatakan sudah terlaksana dengan cukup baik, dikarenakan seluruh kinerja karyawan Front Desk Agent telah memahami tentang pehamahan informasi dan Knowledge Management itu sendiri. Hal ini juga di dukung dengan adanya System hotel yang mendukung pelaksanaan operasional hotel  Keywords: Tourism, Industry, Knowledge Management , Front Desk Agent .

Abstract

The results showed that applicable strategies include collection diversification, improvement of infrastructure, promotion through social media, and development of educational tour packages. In conclusion, the implementation of these strategies is expected to increase the number of visitors and advance tourism at the Raja Ali Haji Museum. Good museum management and adaptation to current events can have a positive effect on photos and tourist visits. The Raja Ali Haji Museum has many historical collections and has great historical value. Therefore, a development plan is needed to deal with the increase in tourist visits. This research seeks to create a development plan for the Raja Ali Haji Museum by increasing tourist visits based on the characteristics of the museum. This research uses a descriptive method by organizing the results of observation data, interviews, documentary studies and previous literature. The evaluation was carried out through direct observation of many things, including the tourist attraction of the Raja Ali Haji Museum and other heritage sites, the location of the museum and the management of the museum. The Raja Ali Haji Museum development plan may include image creation, museum profile creation, beautiful merchandise and special souvenirs, promotions on websites and social media, collaboration with travel groups and collaboration with educational institutions. By implementing this development strategy, it is hoped that the Raja Ali Haji Batam Museum will become a center of education, inspiration and pride for the local community and visitors from various backgrounds, making this museum a developing and sustainable cultural destination.

Abstract

Keranggan Tourism Village is a tourist village that has great potential as a leading tourist destination in Indonesia. However, these tourist destinations each have many challenges that need to be developed further in order to attract the attention of tourists as part of supporting efforts to satisfy visitors. This research aims to identify effective development strategies in increasing the satisfaction of tourists visiting the Keranggan Tourism Village. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation and literature study. The research results show that infrastructure development, improving the quality of services developed through elements of the Sapta Pesona aspect, appropriate promotional strategies, managing tourist attractions, and active involvement of local communities are key factors in increasing visitor satisfaction. It is hoped that the holistic implementation of interrelated strategies can boost the attractiveness of the Keranggan Tourism Village and make it a sustainable and highly competitive tourist destination.

Abstract

Traditional games or folk games in the city of Binjai are part of Indonesian culture that have been passed down from generation to generation. Traditional games contain moral messages that are beneficial for children's motoric, cognitive, emotional and social development. However, as the times progressed which pushed technology in various fields, the existence of traditional games began to be replaced by the presence of modern games which are currently more popular with children. Of course, this has a bad impact, namely that the moral messages and cultural values contained in traditional games are not conveyed well to the next generation, especially children. Therefore, information media is needed to convey these traditional games again. Therefore, 'Designing Information Media About Traditional Games in Binjai City, North Sumatra' was created. This design was made in the form of an illustrated book and several other media mixes. The data collection methods used were observation, interviews, questionnaires, and literature study. In data analysis, the method used is SWOT analysis with a target audience of children aged 7-12 years. Then these data are used in the process of creating the work which goes through several stages. The results of this design become a source of information for the people of Binjai City regarding existing traditional games through a media mix presented in the form of printed illustrated books as the main media. Then there is another media mix which supports the main media consisting of digital book, poster and infographic, traditional games, manual book, merchandise and outdoor media.

Abstract

This article is intended to describe the development of performing arts in the tourism industry, with the material object of study being the Pasa Harau Festival in the Harau Valley, 50 Kota Regency, West Sumatra. Using the involved observation method and descriptive analysis approach, this paper describes the following: background; process; and the results of the development of performing arts for tourism purposes in that location. Research shows that tourism development in Nagari Harau is the basis for nagari development in general, because tourism is the greatest potential it has. The development of performing arts is an effort to complement the existing tourist attractions, namely natural beauty. This need then brought together various stakeholders who were then institutionalized into the Harau Valley Community and the Bintang Harau Learning Studio. The forms of performing arts development that are carried out produce works in the form of creative dances and popular musical art performances. These various works are displayed in two designed programs. Musical works are displayed through a program called Haraukustik; while contemporary performing arts are accommodated in a program called Harau Performing Arts (HarPa).

Abstract

Character education is a form of instilling noble values and goodness. In practice, character education requires time and a long process in order to produce someone with noble morals. The strong character of the Indonesian nation will make this nation dignified and respected by other nations. This is our common goal and dream. Through the younger generation, especially pupils and students, Indonesia's future is at stake. Not only in school, in the world of higher education, character education can also be integrated into classroom learning. This paper uses a qualitative data type approach with descriptive methods, describes how Japanese language learning for tourism students takes place accompanied by the cultivation of noble culture and good values of Japanese society. This is in accordance with the character education values that have been prepared by the Department of National Education, these include religious values, friendship/ communicativeness, love of peace, social care, responsibility and discipline. As part of national education goals, it is hoped that these values can be absorbed and implemented in everyday life.

Abstract

The case of the Rempang community occurred due to the lack of legal protection for their land which was then labeled as squatters. Due to misunderstandings between local communities and the government, this creates quite serious conflicts due to territorial struggles. The RempangGalang conflict caused a decrease in the number of visitors to tourist areas on the island. The decline in the number of visitors has caused the local economy to decline. In fact, the chaos that occurred between the government and the Rempang community made visitors afraid to go on tours to tourist areas around Rempang-Galang.

Abstract

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Temple is a place of Buddhist worship and has become a religious and cultural tourist spot in the Riau Islands, Tanjungpinang. The statues at the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Temple only display information in Mandarin, even though the tourists who visit there mostly come from outside the area, not even just Buddhists. From interviews with visitors who came to the temple, they stated that apart from getting interesting photos, they also wanted to know what the Ksitigarba Bodhisattva Temple was like. However, due to the lack of communicative information, tourists do not know the information written in Mandarin. So "Designing Augmented Reality Information Media for the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Tanjungpinang Temple" was created. The data collection methods used were observation, interviews and literature study. The data analysis method used is SWOT and is aimed at a general target audience of all ages who like to seek new insights and also people who like to visit cultural and religious tourist attractions. After collecting these data, we proceed to the brainstorming stage of creating the work, namely compiling visual and verbal concepts on the designed information media. The results of this design are in the form of Augmented Reality, infographics, e-books, merchandise.

Abstract

Documenter Film is an actualitation of work art that created from inspiration and ideas of the past event. Various programs of documenter film that existed in a society give information and knowledge through audio visual recorded. The benefits of documenter film is it’s capability to give constructive solution to the tourism phenomenon and local cultural uniqueness. The ritual of the Asyek dance is a sacred event that is to call the ancestral spirits. The ceremony or the ritual asyek event is done by involving special persons that has magical power usually it called by dukun (Pengasouh). The ritual asyek dance showed by actractive performance through documenter fillm media. Its created in a kind of association of pictury story telling. Kind of the performance called as art film or experiment. The combination of picture, music and sound atmosphere (noise) artistically as a main part of this event. Element of music is an important part that gives life movement which aroused someone’s emotion. The ritual of asyek dance as a cultural treasures of Sungai Penuh Jambi have an own uniqueness in a cultural tourism.
