Frontiers in Community Service and Empowerment (FiCSE) publishes peer-reviewed, community services activities articles in an open-access format. Accepted articles span the full extent of the Engineering, Social, Science, Health and Education. FiCSE seeks to be the world’s premier open-access outlet for community services papers. As such, unlike traditional journals, FiCSEdoes not limit content due to page budgets or thematic significance. Rather, FiCSE evaluates the scientific and implementation methods of each article for validity and accepts articles solely on the basis of the research. Likewise, by not restricting papers to a narrow discipline, FiCSE facilitates the discovery of the connections between papers, whether within or between disciplines.

TOT resulting trainers from Pokmaswas as a leader to produce artificial reef with local community. The trainers were success to manage local community with resulting seven artificial reefs with their creativity. Local community was able to identify alternative material in order to change cockle shell with coral flakes carried by tide sea.

Abstract

Health Development is the flagship program among 45 important programs that must be carried out throughout the country related to sectoral and regional development, where health programs are ranked 12th. Health programs in the city of Surabaya are carried out through health centers. One of the services at the community Health centers (PKM) Tanah Kali Kendiding is a sharing room. There is also a delivery room at the Tanah Kali Kedinding Health Center in Surabaya, as well as infant incubator equipment for babies born prematurely. The baby incubator makes the percentage of babies born safe and the ability to survive hypothermia in premature infants is higher. The increasing sophistication of medical devices raises questions about the safety of the device and the reliability of the infant incubator, thus the importance of controlled parameter inspection in medical devices. safety inspection and performance is performed by clinical professionals. At the community health center for maintenance activities it has not been reached because there are no personnel to handle it. In community service, they carry out maintenance activities for the infant incubator which aims to ensure that the infant incubator is ready and suitable for use so that services can continue. From the results of the activity, an infant incubator has been produced which is in a well-maintained condition and is in a ready and suitable condition for use.

Abstract

The problems faced by partners are: in carrying out traditional massage massage practice activities, partners do not carry out the process of recording medical conditions before or after the massage process. Thus, this causes partners to be unable to remember the conditions before and after the provision of traditional massage therapy. In addition, when giving traditional massage to patients who have to return periodically, partners cannot know the impact after giving traditional massage. So, to know the result is to ask questions to the patient (e.g. "how is the result after the massage?"). Therefore, monitoring the massage process in post-stroke patients is qualitative and subjective. The implementation methods are: Measuring the physical and medical parameters of the patient such as weight, height and blood pressure, before and after the partner performs traditional massage to the patient, the bio-electrical muscle signal (EMG) is measured by attaching electrodes to the partially paralyzed limbs. Next, the patient contracted the muscle by pressing a rubber ball connected to an electronic pressure measuring module. Together with partners, they monitor the measured value of the muscle bio-electric signal (which is displayed on the computer panel), c) monitor the bio-electric signal in post-stroke patients who undergo traditional massage therapy in subsequent therapy activities (2-5 therapies). The output of PKM activities with the title "Implementation of Muscle Bio-electric Signal Measurement to Monitor the Healing Process of Post-Stroke Patients as an Effort to Support Traditional Massage Workers" is the device that can be used by the partners to monitor the effect of the massage to the patient. The targets and achievements expected in this PKM activity are that partners can monitor the effectiveness of traditional massage with the support of science and technology.

Abstract

Human empowerment carried out by Posyandu as a voluntary community organization is very useful, especially in terms of health. Posyandu is managed independently from and for the community as a form of empowerment and provides basic health services for the community. Posyandu is one form of Community-Sourced Health Efforts (UKBM) that is managed from, by, for, and with the community, in order to empower the community and provide convenience to the community in obtaining basic health services. Efforts to improve the role and function of Posyandu are not solely the responsibility of the government, but all components in the community, including cadres. The role of cadres in organizing Posyandu is very large because in addition to being a provider of health information to the community as well as a community mobilizer to come to Posyandu and implement clean and healthy living behavior. Identification of problems that were successfully collected by the Community Service team of Lecturers and Electromedical Engineering Students at Posyandu Bulak Village, which has 15 posyandu, are as follows: 1. Reporting made by posyandu cadres after completion of weighing activities, recording, counseling, etc. is often delayed, even at the end of the new month to provide reports to the Kenjeran Health Center.2. The availability of Posyandu applications that facilitate posyandu cadres both in monitoring the growth of infants and toddlers, planning the next activity, and recording data on infants and toddlers is shorter and in accordance with activities that have been carried out naun has never been utilized by Posyandu cadres. 3. Controlling or monitoring of unhealthy infants cannot be immediately known by the puskesmas. 4.Reporting of Posyandu activities using the F1 Nutrition Form / SKDN is still manual and paper sheets.1. There are several cadres who are elderly, so they need a youth organization assistant to make the report.

Abstract

In connection with the increase in patients with respiratory problems in the Kenjeran Health Centre area of Surabaya City and the cases of respiratory problems in Covid 19 patients which caused a lack of treatment for these patients due to limited health workers and insufficient monitoring equipment, resulting in an impact on the health service system for patients being disrupted. The Community Service Programme with the PKM scheme is carried out in the form of synergistic cooperation between the Poltekkes Kemenkes Surabaya and the Surabaya City Health Office which is oriented towards community independence through counseling and mentoring, especially in the application of the use of Apnea Monitor at the respiration rate using the Telemedicine Smartphone System (TMSS). With the concept of methodology, a design / flow of extension activities and assistance in the application of the use of Apnea Monitor with Telemedicine System carried out by a team consisting of 3 lecturers and 3 students in accordance with their fields of expertise as well as participants from Kenjeran Health Centre and the community in the area, so that the Community Service activities to be carried out are expected to help solve the problems faced by Kenjeran Health Centre. The results of activities that have been achieved are: 1).The results of SPO2 and BPM values on 40 workers are recorded.2). Identification of 40 workers who do not experience respiratory problems; 3). Identification of workers with respiratory problems (none); 4) Implementation of the TMSS apnea monitor system by measuring SPO2 and BPM in smoking workers in the Kenjeran Health Centre area. Future development plans for the Apnea Monitor -TMSS tool can be accessed via the web.

Abstract

Disasters can happen anytime and anywhere. Living as an archipelagic community is an advantage as well as a risk for the people of Sapeken Island. Behind the natural beauty and richness of life, the community is far from education related to disaster mitigation, and even government data related to mapping regional vulnerabilities and capacities are not optimal. The community-based disaster mitigation education program on Sapeken Island organized by the Disaster Management Masters Program at Airlangga University in collaboration with the Ksatria Airlangga Floating Hospital aims to improve preparedness and increase community capacity in dealing with potential disasters that can occur on Sapeken Island. Based on the results of the pre-test and post-test conducted, the level of community knowledge about disaster mitigation tends to be low and has an average increase of 9% in the post-test knowledge of earthquakes and an average increase of 29% in tsunami knowledge. In addition to disaster mitigation education programs, the community is also invited to determine gathering points and evacuation routes as anticipation and preparedness in the event of an unwanted disaster while waiting for evacuation assistance to arrive. Disaster education programs for archipelagic communities are very important to increase community capacity in addition to developing their tourism potential. So that the community can develop in a balanced way in developing tourism potential in the islands by taking into account the elements of disaster risk that can be prevented or reduced.
