PekaBuana : Jurnal Ilmiah Teknologi dan Manajemen Perikanan Tangkap (JITMPT) diterbitkan oleh Program Studi Perikanan Tangkap Fakultas Perikanan dan Ilmu Kelautan Universitas Halu Oleo Tahun 2021 terbit 2 (dua) kali dalam setahun, yaitu : Bulan Januari dan Desember. JITMPTP diterbitkan dalam Bahasa Indonesia dengan abstrak dalam Bahasa Inggris Jurnal PJITMPT memuat hasil penelitian dosen, mahasiswa dan khalayak umum tentang manajemen operasi penangkapan ikan, oseanografi perikanan tangkap, daerah penangkapan ikan, sistem dan manajemen perikanan tangkap, rancang bangun dan hidrodinamika alat tangkap ikan, rancang bangun dan hidrodinamika kapal perikanan, biologi perikanan tangkap, dan pengelolaan perikanan tangkap dan sosial ekonomi perikanan tangkap. Artikel ditulis dalam Bahasa Indonesia atau Bahasa Inggris. Artikel belum pernah diterbitkan pada media manapun atau tidak sedang dikirim untuk dipublikasikan ke media lain.

Abstract

Guilding barrier is a type of fishing gear that is fixed and passive, which in collecting fish is very dependent on the tides. Based on this, this research was conducted to know: 1) the number of catches of sero; 2) species composition and fish size composition; and 3) sero fishery productivity based on the moon phase. The research was conducted in April-June 2022 in Tapulaga Waters, Soropia District, Konawe. Sampling was carried out in 4 lunar phases including the new moon phase, the first quarter moon, the bright moon, and the second quarter moon. Found 357 individuals caught consisting of 21 species of fish. The highest species composition was found in the second quarter with 129 individuals (36.13%), and the lowest in the quarter with 54 individuals (15.12%). The three (3) dominant fish species are squid (Loligo sp), rabbitfish  (Siganus canaliculatus), and giant trevally (Caranx ignobilis). The caught squid (Loligo sp.) occupy all size ranges from the smallest (10.3-15.4 cmTL) to the largest (46.6-51.8 cmTL) in each lunar phase, except for the new moon phase. Caranxignobilis ranges from 13.3-38.1 cmTL, with the highest size composition at 16.9-20.5 cmTL in the first quarter moon phase. Siganus canaliculatus caught at sizes 3.3-19.8 cmTL had the highest catches at sizes 3.3-4.4, namely the new moon, full moon, and second quarter moon phases. The lunar phase has a significant effect on the number of individuals caught where the new moon phase and the second quarter lunar phase have the highest productivity, namely an average of  3 kg.

Abstract

This study is set out to explore a livelihood system of on-fishing and on-farm activities in Sama Bajo Small-Scale Fisher (SSF) community in the middle of their socio-ecological issues and at the beginning of COVID-19 disruptions impact. Fieldwork in Torokeku Village, South Konawe Regency, South-east Sulawesi Province was conducted in September 2020 by using qualitative research method to explore rigorously about the research objective. Moreover, several in-depth interviews were conducted with those who were selected purposively. They are the active fishers and represented a group of people based on the village social stratification and various livelihoods. We also obtained the data through participant observations. Here, we found that on-fishing and on-farm of Sama Bajo Torokeku livelihood activities are a higher degree of risk due to a horizontal social conflict, seasonality, ecological degradation, and COVID-19 disruptions particularly to Sama Bajo Torokeku Blue Swimming Crab fishers and Seaweed farmers. However, in this research, there is a lack of clarity due to limited studies on gender dimension on the on-fishing and on-farm livelihood activities, thereby future research has to take into account women’s contributions in Sama Bajo livelihood system analysis as a base of fisheries management policy.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of different types of bait (squid, mackerel, and scad) on the number and size of red snapper caught using hand line. The study was conducted during February 2022, in Wakatobi Waters, Southeast Sulawesi Province, specifically in Koko Atol, Koromaha Atol, Tuwu-Tuwu Reef, and Kenteolo Reef. This study used experimental fishing method with 6 fishing trips and 25 repetitions on each trip. The catch results showed that squid bait had the highest catch with 19 individuals, followed by scad bait with 13 individuals, and mackerel fish bait with the lowest catch at 9 individuals. The statistical analysis using one-way ANOVA (F-test) on the number of catch showed a significant difference. Further analysis using Tukey test showed a significant difference between squid bait and mackerel bait, while there was no significant difference between squid bait and scad bait, and also no significant difference between scad bait and mackerel bait. The length and weight of red snapper caught using a hand line with squid bait were dominated by larger size classes compared to the dominant size classes for mackerel bait and scad bait.

Abstract

The main catch of payang fishing gear operating in the waters of Staring Bay is small pelagic fish. The distribution of fish resources starts from shallow coastal waters to offshore so it is suspected that the size of the catch length varies greatly based on the distance of the fishing area. The purpose of this study was to determine the composition of the length of the catch and determine the relationship between the distance of the fishing grounds and the length of the fish caught by the payang fishing gear in the waters of Staring Bay, South Konawe Regency. This research was conducted in December-January 2022 in the waters of Staring Bay, South Konawe Regency. The analysis method consists of analysis of the composition of the size of the catch, correlation analysis and determination. The results showed that the composition of payang catches in the waters of the Gulf was dominated by indian mackerel with a length of 6.2-17.5 cmFL, and a length of shortfin scad was 6.3-17.5 cmFL. The results of the analysis showed that the relationship of the distance of the fishing grounds both from the nearest land and from the fishing base to the size of the length of the fish caught in the waters of Staring Bay showed a strong correlation. The suggestion of this study is the need for further research on the size of the dominant catch.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh faktor-faktor produksi nelayan yang menggunakan alat tangkap bubu (fish trap). Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan April sampai Mei 2019 yang bertempat di Desa Kawite-wite Kecamatan Kabawo Kabupaten Muna. Populasi penelitian ini yaitu semua nelayan yang menggunakan alat tangkap bubu (Fish Trap) yang berjumlah 30 orang nelayan dengan menggunakan metode sensus. Variabel yang diamati adalah jumlah alat tangkap, jumlah umpan dan pengalaman kerja. Data dianalisis menggunakan regresi non linear berganda : Y = α . X1β1 . X2β2  . X3β3 . e dimana Y = jumlah produksi, α = konstanta, β1, β2, β3,= koefisensi regresi variabel independen , X1 = jumlah alat tangkap, X2 = jumlah umpan, X3 = pengalaman kerja dan e = standar eror. Berdasarkan analisis regresi tersebut menunjukan semua variabel berpengaruh nyata terhadap produksi nelayan yang menggunakan alat tangkap bubu (fish trap) (α < 0,1).

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the relationship between seasonal oceanographic conditions (distribution of sea surface temperature, chlorophyll-a concentration, current patterns, and salinity) and catch of small pelagic fish. Analysis was carried out using the survey method and multiple linear regression analysis to determine the relationship between oceanographic factors (temperature, chlorophyll, and salinity) and the catch of small pelagic fish in Sinjai waters. The results showed that the distribution of sea surface temperature in Sinjai waters varied during the study, ranging from 29 to 32°C. Abstract

This study aims to determine the value of the bottom long line which is operated around thei Banda Sea waters, North Buton Regency. Data collection is carried out from October to November 2021 using participatory observation techniques in fishing activities. The data collected consisted of the dimensions and operating techniques of fishing gear and the number of fish caught on each fishing trip for 30 trip. The results showed that the hook rate on each trip varied from 3 percent to 22 percent with an average value of 10.37 percent.

Abstract

Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera Kendari merupakan pelabuhan perikanan tipe A yang mempunyai fasilitas sarana dan prasarana yang cukup lengkap, namun dalam pelaksanaannya fasilitas tersebut perlu di evaluasi secara berkala. Penelitian ini selama bulan September sampai Agustus 2017 di PPS Kendari, dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi fasilitas di PPS Kendari dan mengetahui pemanfaatan fasilitasnya diantaranya panjang dermaga, luas gedung TPI, dan air bersih.  Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian secara deskriptif bersifat survey melalui pengamatan terhadap fasilitas yang terdapat di PPS)Kendari dan wawancara terstruktur. Variabel yang diamati tentang kriteria teknis, operasional pelauhan, fasilitas dan aktivitas yang ada.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PPS Kendari jika dilihat dari kondisi fasilitas pelabuhan, semua fasilitas dalam keadaan baik dan terawat  baik fasilitas pokok, fasilitas fungsional dan fasilitas penunjang. Dari hasil analisis tingkat pemanfaatan fasilitas Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera (PPS) Kendari  didapatkan persentase dermaga 75% , TPI 114 %, dan air bersih 47,08 %. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa untuk fasilitas dermaga belum mencapai kondisi pemanfaatan yang optimal tetapi TPI pendayagunaannya melampaui kondisi optimal, dan air bersih belum mencapai kondisi pemanfaatan yang optimal. Saran dari hasil penelitian ini sebaiknya dermaga bongkar dan muat dipisah tempatnya karena penyatuan dermaga selama ini sering menghambat aktivitas bongkar muat. Perlu adanya usaha dari pihak pelabuhan, nelayan, serta semua pengguna fasilitas untuk mengoptimalkan penggunaan fasilitas.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the role of women based on household type in the household income structure in Liya Mawi Village, South Wangi-Wangi District, Wakatobi Regency. The method used in this study is to use quantitative analysis, with a sampling technique using cluster sampling technique by categorizing respondents based on family type including extended family, nuclear family and widowed family, with a total sample of 36 female seaweed farmers. The results of the study show that women play a major role in terms of saving family income from seaweed activities, and borrowing money for seaweed activities. However, husband and wife hold equal roles in controlling the process of seaweed cultivation and deciding on needs related to seaweed cultivation. Furthermore, based on the type of household, this tendency also occurs in all types of families, both nuclear and extended families, except for the type of widowed family, where all roles are held by the wife as the head of the family

Abstract

The floating lift nets is one of the lifting nets that is operated in coastal waters at night using lighting aids from lights to attract the attention of fish that are positive phototaxis. The operation of the floating lift nets  the fishermen usually carry out 2 transportation times each trip with a middle time night and after midnight. The purpose of this study was to determine the types of floating lift nets operated at different times, to determine the total weight of lift net catches operated at different times, to determine the best catch on floating lift nets operated at different times based on hauling time. This research was conducted in Lasolo Bay, Pasir-Putih Village, Lembo District, North Konawe Regency. Research was conducted from May to July 2022. The method used in this research is the actual fishing method. This study consisted of 2 treatments and 30 trips at midnight and after midnight based on hauling time. The data observed in the study included the total catch, weight per fish species, and type of composition. The data obtained were analyzed using independent t-test. The results showed that the total weight of the catch occurred more during the midnight catch and the highest catch was obtained on the 5-26.9 kg trip. The main catch obtained during the study was anchovy. It is necessary to extend the time between setting and hauling to allow fish to gather and adapt in the catchable area of the floating net. As well as the need for observations regarding the quality of the waters around the fishing area so that catches can increase.
