Abstract

Information is recorded in information media that is collected by library management. The information will be lost if the collections are damaged. The library functions to preserve collections to ensure information access sustainability. One threat is mouse infestation. Not much attention has been given to the effects of mouse infestation disturbances and how mice can potentially damage collections. This research aims to find out how and why mouse disruptions occur in the library and what preservation measures are taken by the library to counter this. This research is a case study conducted in the Indonesian Politics Study Center. This study reveals that mouse infestation disruptions are not too much of a concern at the Indonesian Politics Study Center, as preservation activities have not been conducted extensively.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pendayagunaan alat bantu seleksi bahan pustaka oleh para petugas perpustakaan dalam kegiatan pengembangan koleksi. Lokasi penelitian ini di perpustakaan pusat Universitas Padjadjaran. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Untuk pengumpulan datanya dilakukan melalui wawancara, pengamatan lapangan dan studi kepustakaan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa 1). Untuk prosedur penyeleksian bahan pustaka dimulai dari berbagai saran, masukan baik lisan maupun tertulis yang masuk ke bagian layanan sirkulasi, layanan referensi maupun layanan majalah. 2). Penggunaan alat bantu seleksi oleh petugas perpustakaan pusat Universtas Padjadjaran belum berjalan secara optimal, artinya dari beberapa alat bantu yang tersedia saat ini alat bantu yang dipergunakan hanya yang berupa katalog penerbit, daftar katalog dalam media internet seperti amazon. com, 3). Alasan pihak perpustakaan pusat Universitas Padjadjaran dalam menggunakan beberapa alat bantu seleksi tertentu seperti katalog penerbit dan katalog dalam media internet yakni faktor kemudahan dalam penggunaan alat bantu tersebut, 4) hambatan perpustakaan pusat Universitas Padjadjaran dalam menggunakan alat bantu seleksi yaitu keterbatasan jumlah tenaga dan kurang lengkap alat bantu seleksi khususnya untuk seleksi bahan pustaka berupa majalah dan bahan non buku.This study aims to determine the utilization of the library material selection tool by the librarians in the collection development activities. The location of this research is in the central library of Padjadjaran University. The method used in this study used a qualitative approach to the type of case study research. For data collection is done through interviews, field observation and literature study. Based on the result of research known that 1). For library selection procedure begins with various suggestions, input both oral and written into the circulation services, reference services and magazine services. 2). The use of the selection tool by the librarian of Universtas Padjadjaran University has not run optimally, meaning that from some tools currently available the tools used only in the form of catalog of publishers, catalog list in internet media such as amazon.com, 3). The reason of the library center of Universitas Padjadjaran in using certain selection tools such as catalog of publisher and catalog in internet media that is factor of easiness in the use of the tool, 4) constraint of library of University of Padjadjaran in using selection tool that is limited of number of manpower and less complete tool Aids selection, especially for the selection of library materials such as magazines and non-book materials.

Abstract

Nowadays, technology is growing so fast which cause all of the human life. Library is a kind of work which can’t lost from the impact of technological progress. Nevertheless, not all librarians are able to adapt quickly with the change and development of technology, so it can cause the problem for them, one of them is technostress. Technostress is an uncomfortable condition which which caused by the inability of individuals to adapt with the technological changes or a condition of individual dependency on technology which cause the uncomfortable both physical and psychic. Technostress is caused by several factors that is the development of technology, the lack of standardization, the lack of individual training (librarians) against the technology and equipment used, the technology reliability, the increased of work load which given to each librarian, the appearance of role change from the librarian. Another opinion says that which resulted in the occurrence of technostress there are five components, namely techno-overload, techno-invasion, techno-complexity, techno-insecurity, dan techno-uncertainty. Coping strategies which can be applied by librarians in facing technostress can be long-term coping methods, which is considered to be more effective to reduce the impact of technostress and short-term coping methods which is effective to overcome technostress temporarily.

Abstract

Subtitling becomes the most prominent growth in translation studies with its many advantages. It is cheaper than dubbing, take a short time, has the original soundtrack, better for hard-of-hearing and has a role in language learning. Subtitling can not be separated from the text. This text will be influenced by the context of a situation and also a context of culture. Having Cross Cultural Understanding better will show the ideology of the text. This study observes the translation technique of translating humor in Indonesian subtitle in the first episode of Mind Your Language British comedy series. This subtitle is done by the sixth-semester Indonesian students of English Education Program of Diamond Institute. This is a qualitative descriptive research presenting a translation unit tangible form in lingual (word, phrase, clause, and sentence) as the data. The object of the research is film dialogue in English and Indonesian subtitles also. The analysis of this study represents that there are 5 techniques in translating humor, namely Translating humor in wordplay with a literal translation, Translating humor in Source Text Pun with Target Text Pun, Translating humor in wordplay with wordplay, Translating humor in wordplay with zero wordplays (non-wordplay) and Translating humor with allusion. The use of literal translation technique is dominant while the ideal translation technique in translating humor is wordplay with wordplay.Subtitling mengalami pertumbuhan yang sangat pesat dalam studi penerjemahan dengan banyak kelebihannya. Subtitling lebih murah dari dubbing ditinjau dari segi biaya, proses pembuatannya tidak memerlukan waktu lama, mempunyai soundtract asli, dan lebih baik bagi para penderita tuna rungu dan sulit mendengar. Subtitling tidak bisa dipisahkan dari teks. Teks ini yang akan diperngaruhi oleh konteks situasi dan juga konteks budaya. Memiliki pandangan yang baik tentang Cross Cultural Understanding / perbedaan budaya akan bisa memahami ideologi teks tersebut. Penelitian ini mengkaji teknik penerjemahan humor dalam bahasa Indonesia dalam serial komedi Inggris yang berjudul “ Mind Your Language” episode pertama. Subtitle film komedi ini dikerjakan oleh mahasiswa semester enam jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang mengetengahkan unit penerjemahan bentuk lingual (kata, frasa, klausa, dan kalimat). Objek penelitian ini adalah dialog film dalam bahasa Inggris dan bahasa Indonesi. Analisis dalam pene- litian ini menunjukkan bahawa ada 5 teknik dalam menerjemahkan humor, yaitu merjemahkan humor dalam wordplay dengan perjemahan literal, menerjemahkan humor dalam permainan kata kata (pun) bahasa sumber ke dalam pun bahasa sasa- ran, menerjemahkan wordplay dengan wordplay, menerjemahkan wordplay dengan cara tanpa menerjemahkannya (dibiarkan apa adanya) dan menerjemahkan humor dengan allusion (kiasan). Penggunaan teknik penerjemahan literal sangat dominan sedangkan teknik terjemahan yang ideal dalam menerjemahkan humor adalah wordplay dengan wordplay.

Abstract

Pada masa ini, dunia kepustakawanan mengalami masa transisi yang sangat besar terlihat dari sisi koleksi, sumber daya manusia, serta fasilitas fisik perpustakaan. Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) merupakan salah satu fasilitas penelusuran informasi yang diberikan untuk memudahkan temu kembali informasi di perpustakaan. Terdapat berbagai tampilan OPAC sesuai dengan software yang digunakan. Sejak tahun 2011 Perpustakaan di lingkungan Unsoed memberikan fasilitas OPAC Izylib. Meskipun demikian, sampai saat ini belum pernah dilakukan sebuah kajian mengenai kepuasan pemustaka terhadap pemanfaatan fasilitas tersebut. Kajian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan tipe deskriptif dengan model analisis end-user computing satisfaction. Tujuan penelitian ini menganalisis tingkat kepuasan pemustaka dalam memanfaatkan OPAC Izylib di lingkungan Unsoed. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat kepuasan pemustaka terhadap Online Public Access Catalogue “Izylib” di lingkungan Universitas Jenderal Soedirman berada pada kategori puas ditunjukkan dengan nilai mean 92,26. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut pengelola perpustakaan khususnya tim TI hendaknya dapat melakukan evaluasi sehinga tingkat kepuasan pemustaka terhadap pemanfaatan OPAC meningkat menjadi sangat puas.

Abstract

Teori interksionisme simbolik (symbolic interactionism), merupakan salah satu teori dalam pendekatan kualitatif yang dianggap sesuai untuk menganalisis fenomena di bidang ilmu perpustakaan dan informasi. Inti kajian ilmu perpustakaan dan informasi yang mendasar adalah bagaimana para profesional informasi khususnya dan masyarakat pada umumnya melakukan tindakan terhadap pengetahuan atau informasi. Pakar yang pertama kali memperkenalkan teori interaksionisme simbolik adalah Jesse Shera. Teori interaksi simbolik berangkat dari pemikiran bahwa realitas sosial merupakan sebuah proses yang dikonstruksi secara dinamis, dan didasari oleh tiga premis Herbert Blumer. Lembaga informasi, seperti perpustakaan, pusat informasi, pusat arsip, dan museum merupakan tempat pengelolaan pengetahuan. Perpustakaan, lembaga yang paling dekat dengan masyarakat, merupakan sebuah panggung di mana simbol-simbol ilmu pengetahuan dipentaskan. Sebagai pengelola pengetahuan, profesional informasi memainkan peran strategis, terutama dalam membangun masyarakat pembelajar, yang menjadi fondasi bagi terbentuknya masyarakat informasi. Sayangnya, kondisi lembaga informasi dikelola oleh profesional informasi dengan citra diri yang tampak buruk; dan gaya hidup masyarakat yang cenderung hedonis dan konsumtif, serta berbudaya visual. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa teori dan metode interaksionisme simbolik di bidang ilmu perpustakaan dan informasi perlu dikembangkan lebih jauh. Pengetahuan di masa lalu menjadi makna yang berarti bagi status seseorang, di masa sekarang, menjadi modal intelektual atau modal budaya bagi relasi kuasa di segala aspek kehidupan. Di masa globalisasi ini, di mana interaksi antar individu semakin intens dan semakin bersifat virtual, simbol-simbol pengetahuan yang digunakan juga semakin variatif.

Abstract

The library cannot achieve its goals without cooperation with the internal and external public. Therefore, libraries need PR (public relations) in their efforts to achieve their goals. The activity of the university library is directly or indirectly related with the PR activity since it is the part of PR activities to promote the image and the use of the library. The implementation of public relations activities in libraries has actually been performed by reference librarians. Reference librarians can use a variety of printed and online media, or convey information directly related to library services to users. With the recent development of information technology, using online search tools to seek information is more preferable by users than asking the reference librarian. Though online information tracking tool to organize information is more sophisti- cated presenting for users, users will still need libraries and referral services to find relevant information, as there are things that are not provided by online services such as selection, organization, provision of access, interpretation of relevant information, which can only be done by reference librarians. Reference librarians perform their duties by serving users in providing answers to questions or guiding users, and by creating awareness that the services provided by the library help promote maximum utilization of the library. PR officers through reference librarians attempt to attract the users’ attention through the provision and dissemination of information, and to serve as well as a liaison between the libraries with the users. PR becomes a necessity in libraries as PR activities will drive library function effectively and help promote library services more optimally.

Abstract

Disclosure of Public Information Policy is a form of government awareness regarding the importance of information in determining policy. Disclosure of this information is intended to provide openness for people to take part and supervise the government and institutional policy. Archives institution is known as one of the managers of information which has primary task is to store various important recordings to be used appropriately. This paper aims to analyze the role of archive institution in public information disclosure in Indonesia, and its conduct regarding it. To bridge the needs of the user and archival institutions, it must preset fast and efficient archive service. Act no. 43 of 2007 on Archive is one proof of the role of archive institutions in the digital era. Many laws govern the freedom of information of a person, in terms of security, privacy, and information dissemination. Electronic archive service It is expected to facilitate accesses, and it is also a form of the archive’s participation in the Public Information. Although in implementation, there are many issues that archives should face in opening access and disseminating information to the public.
