Based on data from the Ministry of Health, the coverage of basic immunization shows that of the target number of 4,461,341 infants, the coverage of BCG immunization is 93.8%, DPT 1 69.6%, Polio 1 76.6%, Polio 4 92.4%, measles 91%. With a Drop Out rate of 43.5%, complete basic immunization status for children in West Java Province in 2018 was 57.9%, a slight decrease when compared to Riskesdas 2013 which was 59.2%, while the average value of immunization completeness in Indonesia is 59.2%. Purpose of the study: To find out how the correlation between mother's knowledge about booster immunization and complete basic immunization in the working area of the Bojong Rawa Lumbu Public Health Center in 2020. The population in this study was 73 respondents. The method used was total sampling. The research design used descriptive correlation with a cross approach sectional with chi-square test. There is a relationship between mother's knowledge about booster immunization and the completeness of basic immunization at the Bojong Rawa Lumbu Public Health Center in 2020, with a chi-square result p = 0.000.Keywords: Knowledge, complete basic immunization

Abstract

In the process of spontaneous delivery, there was a risk of bleeding due to perineal rupture. The perineal rupture that did not handle properly would increase the risk of infection. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between perineal rupture with newborn birth weight. The research method used a cross-sectional quantitative method. In this study, the population was mothers who gave birth in January-September 2020 in the private practice of midwives in East Jakarta and obtained 389 people. The number of respondents in this study was 169 respondents. Data collection used primary data by filling out a google form. Collected data analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis (Chi-Square test). This study showed that respondents who experienced perineal rupture during delivery were 94.7%, and 94.1% of them gave birth to average baby birth weight. The results of statistical tests with chi-square obtained a p-value of 0.081 which means there is no significant relationship between newborn weight and perineal rupture. Recommendations for health workers, especially midwives, need to increase their knowledge and skills through training and health seminars, especially on preventing perineal rupture during childbirth and applying perineal massage techniques following standard operating procedures to provide counseling and training. Further research needs to be carried out to analyze the incidence of perineal rupture during delivery to reduce the incidence of perineal rupture. Keywords: perineal rupture, birth weigth

The most significant contributor is neonatal mortality; worldwide, in 2015 it was 21 neonatal deaths per 1000 live births. South Kalimantan province accounted for 578 infant deaths in 2018, and Banjar Regency was the third-largest contributor to infant mortality, with 72 deaths. This research used a descriptive method. The sample in this study was 32 postpartum mothers who had newborns from 0-28 days old. Midwife assistance for postpartum mothers caring for newborns is assisted by 93% and unaccompanied by 7%. The mother's independence in performing umbilical cord care is 70% dependent, 15% independent, and 15% total dependence. The mother's independence in bathing the baby is 47% dependent, 40% independent, and total dependence 12%. The mother's independence in breastfeeds their baby is 78% independent, 15% dependent, and 7% total dependence. It is hoped that midwives will continue to provide maximum education and assistance to postpartum mothers to increase mothers' independence in caring for. Keywords: Assistance, Independence, postpartum mothers, newborns

Abstract

Cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. The high prevalence of cancer in Indonesia needs to be monitored by preventing and early detection measures that health service providers have taken. Cervical cancer screening is carried out by Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA). This study aimed to determine the relationship between women's age, parity, and pregnancy 35 years with the results of the VIA examination. This research was an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional approach. The sample of this study was the total population who followed the VIA examination in Pekalongan Regency in 2018 and obtained 216 respondents. Multivariate analysis in this study was using multiple logistic regression. The results of this study indicate that there is no significant relationship between age and pregnancy 35 years old with VIA examination results (p-value:0.217 and 0.624). There is a significant relationship between parity and the results of the VIA examination (p-value:0.015). For health workers, especially midwives, should motivate married women and risk experiencing cervical cancer to carry out VIA examinations regularly. The Public Health Office should provide the facilities and infrastructure in all health facilities so that the public can carry out VIA examinations regularly, periodically in their respective territories.  Keywords: Age, Parity, VIA

Abstract

Premature rupture of membranes is the rupture of the membranes before the birth process occurs, either at term or preterm gestation. The causative factors are incompetent cervix, excessive uterine tension, multiple pregnancies, hydramnios, abnormal membrane physiology, predisposing factors such as parity, maternal age, gestational interval, and nutritional status. Complications that arise can include maternal or neonatal infection, premature delivery, hypoxia, compression of the umbilical cord, fetal deformities, increased incidence of cesarean delivery. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect history of premature rupture of membranes and asphyxia on the incidence of premature rupture membranes at RSIA Aulia Jagakarsa 2018. The descriptive method with a cross-sectional approach was used in this study. The sample was taken using random sampling. The data was collected from the medical record—analysis using a univariate and bivariate test. The results show that respondents with PROM at RSIA Aulia in 2018 were 57 people (65.5%), and 30 people (34.5%) did not experience PROM. A total of 31 (81.69%) respondents with PROM have a history of PROM, and 26 (53.1%) respondents with PROM have no history of PROM. The incidence of asphyxia in patients with PROM was 27 (54%) respondents and as many as 30 (81.1%) without asphyxia despite PROM. From these results, there is a relationship between a history of PROM and the incidence of PROM. However, there is no relationship between asphyxia and PROM.Keywords: Premature rupture of membranes, asphyxia

Abstract

Choking is the leading cause of mortality and disability in toddlers under three years or younger. In 1999 – 2017, 114 deaths occurred to children aged 1 – 4 years in the USA because of choking on food and unusual objects. The family's ignorance in choking first aid was also one of the reasons for mortality in toddlers. The research aimed to determine the effect on the training of choking first aid for toddlers towards mothers' knowledge level at Integrated Healthcare Center Debong Tengah sub-district. It was a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design using One Group Pretest-Posttest. It used quota sampling and obtained 39 respondents. Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test showed that p-value 0.0001 (p0.05) meant that there is an effect from the training of choking first aid for toddlers towards mothers' knowledge level. It is also proven by the improvement of the mothers' knowledge before and after getting the training. It is expected that the mothers can apply the knowledge that they have got during the training if their toddlers need choking first aid. Keywords: first aid training, knowledge, choking
