Abstract

Research shows constipation is poorly treated in hospitalized children (3). This research is strengthened by the results of research which found that constipation had not received proper treatment in the treatment room for children with cancer (5). Pediatric patients who experience constipation can be influenced by several factors such as a low fiber diet, immobilization, and use of medications (3,5).: Background: acupressure is effective in reducing constipation in patients with advanced cancer (8). Therefore, this research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of acupressure in cancer patients experiencing constipation at the Indonesian National Hospital. Methods: experimental research methods on cancer children with the health problem of constipation. Results: Before receiving acupressure therapy, the average patient had not defecated for 81 hours. Changes occurred after therapy, namely patients experienced defecation an average of 9.2 hours. Conclusions: The changes show that acupressure therapy is very significant in reducing constipation.

Abstract

Introduction: Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) collaborate in order to weaken the immune system and increase the burden of both illnesses. Macrophages as the first intracellular niche against Mtb infection, are also involved in the persistence of the HIV infection, and may have an important role in the of tuberculosis (TB)-HIV co-infection. Improved knowledge of the macrophage function and pathogenesis dynamics may contribute to the development of newer and better diagnosis technique, prognosis assessment, and therapeutic intervention. By monitoring changes in the expression of molecular targets, macrophage identification methods that use molecular imaging techniques for cell image analysis can efficiently provide important information about macrophage biology and evaluate early response to therapy, which can facilitate medical personnel in the identification and treatment of TB-HIV disease. Methods: This study is a narrative review highlighting the utilization of molecular imaging techniques to capture macrophage dynamics in TB-HIV co-infection. Result and conclusion: Confocal laser scanning microscopy live imaging, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence microscopy, histochemical staining, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and deconvolution microscopy images are among several molecular imaging techniques that can be used to visualize macrophage dynamics in TB-HIV co-infection.

Abstract

Adolescents are a window of opportunity for future development, so it is necessary to invest in the health and welfare of adolescents in accordance with the Adolescent Nutrition Program launched by the Indonesian government to adjust the Sustainable Development Goal at the UN meeting with a communication strategy for social change and adolescent behavior. This study used a quantitative design with 196 respondents whose samples were taken with probability sampling techniques in the form of simple random sampling. Physical activity data was taken from the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), data on knowledge of nutrients obtained from the Self Administere Qustionnaire (QuesCa) and intensity of fastfood consumption obtained from the Food Frequency Questionnaire while nutritional intake through 24-hour food recall form. Data analysis used multiple linear regression with SPSS 25 statistical tools. Based on the t test, it was concluded that there was an effect of physical activity and knowledge of nutrients with a significance value of 0.000 for each of the two variables. While the intensity of fastfood consumption has a significance value of 0.968 (more than 0.05) which concludes that there is no effect of the intensity of fastfood consumption on nutritional intake. Nutrient knowledge is the factor that most influences nutrient intake with a t-statistic of 5.941. In this study, it was concluded that there was an effect of physical activity and nutritional knowledge on nutritional intake, while the intensity of fastfood consumption did not affect nutritional intake. The dominant factor affecting nutritional intake in this study was nutritional knowledge.

Abstract

Background: Green coconut water is a most popular functional drink in all tropical countries. The presence of toxic heavy metals in surface seawater is a major problem globally, with a large share in developing countries like Bangladesh. The objective of the study was to assess the concentration of heavy metals like Pb, Cr, Ni, Cu, and Cd in green coconut water and surface seawater around sea beach areas of Bangladesh. Methods: Green coconut water and surface seawater samples were collected from six sea beach areas and transferred to the laboratory. Then, they were allowed for digestion, and finally, the concentration of heavy metal was assessed by the atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS). Results: In green coconut water, the concentrations of heavy metal exist bellowing the safe limit with the following order: Pb > Cr > Cu > Ni > Cd. But, Pb, and Cr were prevalent in surface seawater and found to decrease in a sequence of Pb > Cr > Ni > Cd, Cu. Besides, Human health risks associated with the intake of these metals were evaluated in terms of metal pollution index (MPI), daily intake of metals (DIM), health risk index (HRI), and hazard index (HI). However, most of the index values were found to be bellowing the reference value. Conclusion: The concentration of green coconut water is almost proportional to surface seawater in sea beach areas. The high prevalence of Pb and Cr in surface seawater is alarming, and this impact is already seen in green coconut water. So, it is necessary to take action on seawater pollution in Bangladesh.

Abstract

Background: Students can be taught eco-friendly consuming habits through classroom learning activities with the help of teachers and other school-related activities. The study's focus is a case study completed at a vocational high school. We seek to understand the broad-reaching consequences that this teaching strategy might evoke by examining the potential implications of integrating environmentally responsible consumption practices within an educational framework. Through a thorough case study, we aim to shed light on how incorporating environmentally responsible consuming practices into schooling could support more general educational goals and encourage sustainable habits. Internalizing this through character education entails setting models and developing routine behaviors based on school policies and extracurricular activities in addition to integrated environmental education. This supports the long-term integration of these ideals into students' personalities. Method: This research uses a survey methodology and is explanatory. The SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) was used to analyze the data. 95 respondents make up the sample size for the sampling method, which uses proportionate random sampling. Result: According to the research's findings, integrating character education and general education are impacted by internalizing environmentally responsible consumption habits.
