Abstract

The development of banking Net Interest Margin (NIM) in Indonesia shows a high value among other ASEAN countries. A high NIM ratio value does not indicate that the bank's condition is good. Bank Indonesia has a NIM target with a value range of 3% -4%. However, in reality, in the case of state-owned banks, no one has been able to achieve Bank Indonesia's target. The influence of bank internal and external factors has a significant contribution to the value of NIM. This study aims to analyze the determinants of the net interest margin of Indonesian banking by using a case study of Bank BRI. This research is a quantitative research with secondary data sources derived from the company's financial statements. The analytical method used is the two stage least square (TSLS). The results showed that the variables NPL, LDR, CAR, and deposits had a significant effect on NIM. Meanwhile, BOPO and SBK have no significant effect on NIM.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how macroeconomic variable factors, namely inflation, interest rates, exchange rates and economic growth affect credit growth in Indonesia. In this study using quantitative research methods with multiple linear regression analysis. The data used in this study is in the form of secondary data in the form of a time series with a period of 44 quarters from 2011 to 2021. In this study it was found that the variables of inflation and economic growth partially have no effect on the growth of bank credit at commercial banks in Indonesia. Meanwhile, exchange rate and interest rate variables have an influence on credit growth. From the results of this study it is suggested to maintain interest rates and exchange rates through monetary policy in order to increase credit growth in Indonesia.

Abstract

The profitability of banks was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, which also impacted even the larger banks. Further examination of the previous period revealed that the profitability of major banks between 2014 and 2021 tended to be stagnant and even experienced a decline. This study aims to determine the influence of banking risks, including credit risk (NPL), liquidity risk (CR), market risk (NIM), and operational risk (BOPO), as well as macroeconomic factors like the SBDK (Loan to Deposit Ratio) and inflation on bank profitability measured by Return on Assets (ROA). The data used in this study is secondary data, and the data collection method is documentation. The population consists of 4 banks from KMBI 4 and 9 banks from KBMI 3, observed over an 8-year period from 2014 to 2021. The research analysis method used is multiple linear regression analysis with a panel data model. The research results indicate that credit risk (NPL) has a significant influence only on the profitability of bank KBMI 4. Operational risk (BOPO) and market risk (NIM) have a significant impact on the profitability of both bank KBMI 4 and KBMI 3. On the other hand, liquidity risk (CR), SBDK, and inflation do not have a significant influence on the profitability of bank KBMI 4 and KBMI 3.

Abstract

The more integrated the global economy is, the more the capital market will respond to currently available domestic and global information as a form of consideration in making investment decisions. Investment decisions generally consider a number of internal and external factors. The purpose of this study is to analyze whether the Non-Farm Payroll (NFP), FED Rate, BI Rate, and Dow Jones Index partially and simultaneously have a significant effect on the Indonesian Composite Stock Index (IHSG) in 2017:1-2022:12. The data in this study used secondary data using the time series multiple linear regression analysis method using the E-views version 10 application. The results showed that the NFP, FED Rate, BI Rate, and the Dow Jones index had simultaneous effect on the IHSG. The FED Rate, BI Rate, and Dow Jones Index variables have a significant positive effect on the IHSG, while the NFP variables has no significant effect on the IHSG.

Abstract

Banking companies are engaged in the financial sector which tend to pose a high risk in their operational activities than other companies in different sectors. If the risks arising from the operational activities of bank companies are not managed properly, then this can lead to bank failure problems that can threaten the country's monetary stability. In this paper, the authors aim to formulate a financial distress prediction model to identifying and predicting conventional bank companies that will experience financial distress problems. To achieve this goal, the authors use the discriminant analysis method by using 8 independent variables that represent each RGEC component such as NPL, Cash Ratio, Managerial Ownership, Institutional Ownership, Proportion of Independent Commissioners, ROA, NIM and CAR to the financial distress as the dependent variable with a nominal scale. Based on the test results, the authors found that there were 4 independent variables that were able to predict financial distress like NPL, Cash Ratio, ROA and NIM with an accuracy of 95.83%, where this value met the validation requirements in discriminant analysis and could be used to predict financial distress in other conventional bank companies.

Abstract

Working capital management in banking is important for the management of liquid assets. The development of digitization requires banks to provide larger capital for company development while still being able to generate profits for the bank. This research aims to identify the influence of working capital management on bank profitability. The research model uses panel data with research objects consisting of 36 conventional commercial banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2017 to 2021. Partially, this research found a significant positive relationship between Quick Ratio, Investing Policy Ratio, Loan to Deposit Ratio, Debtors Collection Period, Creditors Payment Period, and Loan Losses Provision to Return On Assets. This research also shows a significant impact of working capital management on bank profitability.

Abstract

World crude oil prices as represented by Brent Crude and West Texas Intermediate (WTI) have decreased in line with the decline in the Indonesia Composite Index (ICI) during the Covid-19 outbreak. Many countries implemented lockdown policies during the Covid-19 period, thereby hampering the pace of Indonesia's economy as a crude oil importing country. Therefore, this study aims to explain the difference in volatility spillover from world crude oil in ICI "before" and "during" the Covid-19 crisis. This study uses ARIMAX-GARCH as a tool to obtain results from the volatility spillover of world oil prices on the Indonesian capital market in 2017-2022. Furthermore, the use of ARIMAX-GARCH in this study resulted in findings of differences in crude oil spillover in ICI in the "before" and "during" Covid-19 periods. The results before Covid-19 show that there is a negative spillover from world oil price volatility on ICI volatility. Meanwhile, when Covid-19 showed that world oil volatility did not denote spillovers to ICI volatility. This shows a change in the perspective of investors towards crude oil as a consideration for investing in the stock market in Indonesia.

Abstract

The capital market is a sector that has an important role in economic development because the capital market performs a dual function, namely as a medium for companies to obtain capital as well as a medium for the public to invest. It can be seen that the number of investors has increased every year. However, this increase is in contrast to the low level of financial literacy and inclusion in the capital market. This study aims to determine the effect of the robo advisor feature and minimum top up on mutual funds investing intention by the people of East Java in the Bibit and Bareksa applications. With a population of 100 users of the Bibit and Bareksa applications in East Java, a total sample of 80 people and using the logistic regression method, the results show that the robo advisor feature and minimum top up have a significant effect on mutual funds investing intention so it can be concluded that these two variables can increase opportunities and contribute to investing intention. Keywords: Bibit and Bareksa Applications; Minimum Top Up; Mutual Funds Investing Intention; Robo Advisor Feature.
