Methods This research uses quantitative methods with cross sectional research. The population in this study were the elderly in RW 009 Kayu Tinggi, East Cakung, East Jakarta and the sample amounted to 110 respondents. Data collection technique using purposive sampling technique Research Results Statistical test using the chi square test with the results of respondents who have good family support as many as 57 (51.8%) and respondents with high adherence to booster vaccination as many as 56 (50.9%) obtained p value (0.000) < value (0.05) Based on the results of the study, there is a relationship between family support and adherence to booster vaccination in the elderly in RW 009 Kayu Tinggi, East Cakung, East Jakarta.

Abstract

A person who is in the elderly phase experiences changes both physically and mentally and socially. Physical changes include decreased physical strength, stamina and appearance. In Indonesia, it has not been supported by improving the quality of health care for the elderly. Knowledge about elderly care, both by family, parents themselves and other social institutions is still very inadequate. The factors that cause lack of self-care in the elderly are due to lack of knowledge or cognitive deficits. The application of effective communication in the family is a form of interaction between children and elderly parents which has implications for personal hygiene. The method that will be used by the researcher is quantitative with an analytical research design. The design of this study was cross sectional with the technique of Probability Sampling simple random sampling. The population in this study were 85 elderly and after entering into the Slovin formula, a sample of 70 elderly people was obtained. The results of statistical analysis using the chi-square test obtained a p-value of 0.000 0.05. This shows that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. It was obtained from the bivariate result that 63 (90.0%) respondents had good effective family communication with good personal hygiene. Based on the results of the study, there is a significant relationship between effective family communication and personal hygiene in Jatimakmur, Bekasi City.

Abstract

Urinary retention is a common postpartum problem characterized by the inability of mothers to urinate spontaneously after childbirth. If not managed properly, postpartum urinary retention may cause discomfort, urinary tract infections, and impaired uterine contraction. Bladder training is a non-pharmacological intervention that can be applied to prevent and accelerate urinary elimination after delivery. In 2024, cases of postpartum urinary retention were still reported at Aceh Singkil Regional General Hospital, indicating the need for early intervention. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of bladder training in accelerating the first urination time among normal postpartum mothers at Aceh Singkil Regional General Hospital. This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group approach. A total of 20 normal postpartum mothers were selected as samples and divided into an intervention group that received bladder training and a control group that received standard care. Data were collected through direct observation of the time to first urination, measured in hours, and analyzed using the Independent T-Test. The results showed that the intervention group had a faster average time to first urination (2.98 hours) compared to the control group (5.5 hours). Statistical analysis demonstrated a significant difference between the two groups (p = 0.00034; p < 0.05). These findings indicate that bladder training is effective in accelerating first urinary elimination in normal postpartum mothers and can be recommended as an early non-pharmacological intervention in postpartum care.
