Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the skill of weaving various types of rattan woven motifs with the ability of mathematical logical thinking of students in schools around the Galmantro Rattan Tourism Village of Cirebon Regency. The method used is a quantitative research method with a One-Shot Case Study research design. Data collection techniques used in the form of observation, tests, and questionnaires. The results of this study are (1) during the training, the respondents felt interested in knowing how to weave and the types of woven motifs for rattan crafts because in reality the respondents had never tried directly to weave rattan woven motifs; (2) based on the correlation coefficient test between weaving skills and the mathematical logical thinking test the t and t_table test values are 7.711 more than 2.045, so that the two variables have a significant relationship with the relationship level of 0.599 in the medium category. Keywords: weaving skills, woven motifs, mathematical logical thinking

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of learning with Sorogan Methods on students' mathematical-concept understanding, knowing the effect of peer tutors on students' mathematical-concept understanding and find out the increase between sorogan methods assisted peer tutor and students' mathematical-concept understanding. The method used in this study was the Quasy Experiment method, this study used a one way variance analysis (ANAVA) technique with unequal cells. The results showed that there was an influence of the Sorogan Method on students' mathematical-concept understanding, where the Sorogan Method was better than the conventional learning model. There was an influence of the Peer Tutor Method on students 'understanding of mathematical concepts, where the Peer Tutor Method was better than the Conventional Learning Model. There was an increase in the Sorogan method of peer tutor assistance on students' mathematical-concept understanding. This study shows that the Peer Tutor Assisted Sorogan method has a good effect on students' mathematical-concept understanding. Keywords: the sorogan method, students mathematical-concept understanding, peer tutors.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop cultural-based comic-based mathematics teaching materials. This research was conducted on 8th grade students of junior high schools precisely at Al Ma'ruf Islamic Middle School, Al Wahyu MTs, and Madrasah Tsanawiyah Insan Kamil. This study used research and development methods with the ASSURE model. In this study, the products were tested on material experts (lecturers), material experts (teachers), linguists, development experts, graphic design experts, 3 students selected from 3 schools for one to one test, 15 students from 3 schools for a small group test, and 20 students from 1 school for a large group to test the effectiveness of the product. This product test used the ttest to obtain ttest is 8.225 and ttable is 2.093 or ttest mpre than t table. Then it can be concluded that there is an effective use of mathematics comic teaching materials between pre test and post test scores and can be categorized as feasible. Keywords: Teaching Materials, Math Comics, Culture.

Abstract

This study found the low of student learning outcomes. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes through peer tutoring method of cooperative settings. The type of research is classroom action research (CAR) that consisting of: (1) planning, (2) implementing, (3) observing and (4) reflecting. This action research consisted of 2 cycles and each cycle consisted of 3 meetings. The subjects of this study are VIII.D Junior High School of Puriala 1l, with the total consists of 28 students, 15 male and 13 female. Technique of collecting data used observation and tests. The data obtained that is analyzed descriptively.  The results of data analysis showed that in cycle I,, students who get more than and equal to 65 is 17 students with the percentage 60.71 %. In cycle 2, the score has increased. There are 22 students who gained more than and equal to 65 as presentations reached 78.57%Keywords: Cooperative, Learning Outcomes, Peer Tutors.

Abstract

This present study describes how do the process and results of the development of mathematics teaching based on realistic mathematics education to enhance the mathematical connection ability of Middle-School students. The teaching material development model refers to the 4-D Thiagarajan model which has 4 steps namely defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. This participant is studying distributed to learners from a Middle-School 2 Candi Sidoarjo. The study data were obtained with a validation sheet, an observation sheet of teacher and student activities, a student response questionnaire, and a mathematical connection ability test. The products of this study are the learning plan, student worksheets, and mathematical connection ability tests. The results showed that the learning material fulfilled the validity, practical and effective. The results of students' mathematical connection ability tests improved based on t-tests correlated and N-gain analysis. Therefore, it is possible to say that the development of mathematics teaching based on realistic mathematics education can enhance the ability of mathematical connections. As a suggestion, teachers in managing mathematics teaching are very necessary to develop the right tools, so that it has a positive impact on student learning outcomes, especially the ability of students' mathematical connections. Keywords: Realistic Mathematics Education, Mathematical Connection, Middle-School, 4-D Model
