Abstract

Sexually transmitted diseases could be transmitted through unprotected vaginal, anal, and oral sex. Infectious diseases can cause various symptoms and even cause death in humans. One of the duties of a doctor is to prevent the spread of a disease, but in this scenario the doctor has to reveal the patient's identity to others. Various opinions and stigmas that arise in Indonesian society have made it more difficult for sexually transmitted diseases patients to reveal their condition even to their closest family. This increases the dilemma faced by doctors. Based on various aspects ranging from human rights, the right-to life, bioethics by adhering to the prima facie principle, as well as the convention law, the medical secrets of infectious disease patients must be disclosed to the family for togetherness' sake.

Abstract

Breast cancer is the number one cause of death in developing countries. The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence and characteristics of breast tumor patients based on histopathological examination at Hermina Daan Mogot Hospital in 2017-2021. This research is an observational descriptive cross-sectional technique regarding breast tumors with parameters such as age, clinical diagnosis and histopathological diagnosis.. In this study, 716 subjects met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. histopathological diagnosis with the most results of mammary carcinoma at the age of 40-49 (40.86%) and the most histopathological diagnosis of fibroadenoma mammary at the age of 20-29 (37.35%). The most common clinical diagnosis consistent with the histopathological diagnosis is fibroadenoma mammary, which is part of a fibroepithelial tumor. The least common clinical diagnosis was papilloma (0.4%) and the least clinical diagnosis was papillary lesion (0.3%), where the papilloma was part of the papillary lesion. Early breast examination is needed to be able to detect malignant lesions at an early stage so that appropriate management can be carried out immediately so as to increase the patient's life expectancy.

Abstract

Abstract. Citrus nobilis lour fruit. var. microcarpa (C. nobilis) or Pontianak Orange is a food source with good vitamins and antioxidants, while the peel was considered as waste. Along with technological development, people processed it by utilizing its essential oil. Research showed that the essential oil of Pontianak orange peel (C. nobilis) could inhibit the growth of some gram-positive and -negative bacteria. Still, the compounds' composition and antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties have not been studied much. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the active compound composition, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory activity of C. nobilis essential oil. The essential oil from C. nobilis peel was extracted using the clavenger method. The GCMS methods was used for active compound profiling. The antioxidant activity of essential oils was examined using the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical. The dominant active compound components in C. nobilis essential oil were limonene, β-myrcene, and linalool. The essential oil of C. nobilis had robust antioxidant activity (IC50 13.114 µg/mL) compared to BHT. The content of the dominant active compound in the essential oil supported this activity.

Abstract

The global burden of disease study shows that stroke and ischemic heart disease are the main causes of death and disability in 2017. RISKESDAS 2018 showed that the prevalence of hypertension measured in residents over the age of 18 the increased from 25.8% to 34.1 This is the background of this study on early detection of prehypertension by analyzing heart rate variability in UKRIDA hospital staff. Data collection was performed by an objective sampling technique. There were 81 study samples that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. As a result, the majority of respondents in the gender category were female, for a total of 43 respondents (53.1%). By age group, 44 people (54.3%) were in the age group of 20-30 years, the most. Subsequently, 29 of her in the professional group were nurses (35.8%). Most of the respondents were normotensive, i.e. 41 respondents (50.6%), and most of the SDNN respondents were of normal height, even 31 respondents (28.4%). The majority of respondents are RSMDD, or normal high, with as many as 23 (28.4%) respondents. HRV influences early detection of prehypertension by SDNN and RMSDD blood pressure results when the correlation test is 0.00 (p-value < 0.05).

Abstract

Introduction Hyperglycemic crisis is a life threatening medical emergency which occur in any individuals, including end stage renal disease (ESRD). The altered renal, glucose, electrolyte, and body fluid dysregulation seen in ESRD patients affects the management. Objective: Hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state (HHS) and diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) are life threatening hyperglycemic emergencies that warrant immediate and adequate management. The incidence of hyperglycemic crises among ESRD patients who undergo routine hemodialysis remains unknown. Furthermore, several available studies reported in case reports. Methods: We hereby report a case of hyperglycemic crisis of 61years old woman with medical history of type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) and ESRD as the complication, she undergoes routine hemodialysis. Results: The patient was admitted with decreased consciousness that was preceded by dyspnea, active cough and fever. Then, the patient treated for the hyperglycemic crisis as in ESRD patient and for the with septic shock due to pneumonia. Conclusion: The management of hyperglycemic crises consist of fluid, potasium corection and insulin administration, however there were some adjustment in ESRD patients. At present therere were no spesific guidelines to manage hyperglicemic crisis and ESRD which is challenging.
