Abstract

Truth is a fundamental concept in philosophy and theology that has deep relevance in the Islamic tradition. This article examines the relevance of correspondence and coherence theories to the understanding of truth in Islam. Correspondence theory defines truth as the correspondence between propositions and external reality. In Islam, this approach is seen in revelation that is in harmony with natural reality as affirmed in many verses of the Qur'an. On the other hand, coherence theory emphasizes logical consistency in belief systems. Islam integrates revelation, reason, and sharia law to build a harmonious and rational belief. Truth in Islam is not only ontological, referring to the absolute reality of God, but also epistemological, encompassing the way humans understand and apply truth. The correspondence approach affirms the relationship of revelation to nature, while coherence ensures logical harmony within the belief system. The combination of the two creates a comprehensive framework, integrating spirituality, intellect and morality. The article concludes that the dialog between philosophical concepts and Islam enriches the understanding of the nature of truth, making it theologically and practically relevant in everyday life.

Abstract

Advances in information technology, particularly the internet and social media, have significantly changed communication and interaction within society. The ease of accessing information has made the global community resemble a global village. Digital technology has both positive and negative impacts that must be addressed wisely. Religious counsellors, as the frontline of the Ministry of Religion, are required to transform. Directorate General of Islamic Education Decision No. 1172 of 2024 provides guidelines for the implementation of religious counselling on social media. This study explores the opportunities, challenges, and alternative solutions for the implementation of the aforementioned decision. Using a descriptive quantitative research method, it can be concluded that religious counsellors must transform themselves to be willing and able to use social media for preaching and counselling. The role of digital technology brings benefits in various aspects, including religious counselling; however, social media must be used wisely so that religious counselling can run smoothly and provide benefits to society at large

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile (P5) and Rahmatan Lil Alamin Student Profile (PPRA) at MI Ma’arif NU Ciberem, an Islamic primary school in Central Java, Indonesia. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with school leaders and teachers, supported by observations and documentation. The findings show that the school integrated P5 and PPRA values into project-based learning activities such as gardening, creative recycling, and local culinary projects. These activities promoted collaboration, environmental awareness, creativity, and spiritual growth in students. Despite challenges such as limited infrastructure and low parental involvement, the school successfully internalized national and religious values into its curriculum and culture. The study concludes that integrating P5 and PPRA can foster holistic character development in early education and offers a practical model for Islamic schools implementing value-based learning.

Abstract

This research focuses on the goal of understanding feeling smart, being stupid and not having one: a study of Sufism's morals. Using a qualitative strategy of descriptive analysis through literature study, the research results show that the Sufism perspective views the nature of knowledge as belonging to Allah, and humans have knowledge only of what He desires. Islam views Allah as the center of all knowledge. Therefore, it is not permissible for humans to feel intelligent. Research implications for knowledge seekers, practitioners and scholars regarding the importance of the process of studying science to understand the nature of knowledge, not its achievements. It is hoped that the results of this research will provide benefits for sustainable Sufism education.

Abstract

Aqidah Akhlak learning in Madrasah plays a strategic role in shaping students' character and personality, aligning them with Islamic values. One key indicator of the success of this learning process is the quality of the material received and understood by students. This article aims to analyze the quality of Aqidah Akhlak material by reviewing aspects of planning, implementation, and student learning outcomes. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The research findings suggest that while the overall quality of Aqidah Akhlak material outcomes is satisfactory, there are still some challenges in the implementation process, particularly concerning the use of learning media and methods of delivery. In order to address these challenges, innovative strategies are required. Such strategies would not only enhance the effectiveness of the curriculum but also make the Aqidah Akhlak content more accessible and easier for students to understand and apply in their everyday lives.
