Abstract

In recent time, the trend and the people’s interests in home decor products are growing rapidly. So now, home decor products should have more added value, so it can be more attractive to the customers.The objective of this study is to determine the value and the uniqueness about the plaster air freshener as the home decor products. There are two methods of this study such as qualitative and quantitative methods. The activities we did to do the qualitative methods are by interviewing the experts and the end-users (expert user and extreme user), and also a literature study from books and journals. However, the activities that will be done for doing quantitative methods in this study are by taking an online questioner to 50 target markets who are interested in home decors and fragrances. The result of this study indicates that the usefulness and design uniqueness of a product play important role in affecting home decor product purchase decision especially plaster air freshener.

Abstract

The art of digital painting has a function as a form of visual representation from ideas and design that has been made by the artist. Nowadays, digital painting still be considered by the people as a visual art only used as an entertainment needed such as novel cover, Trading Card Game, animation, and others. Even tough, the definition of art can be used as a visual means that visualizing ideas and impression from the artist and from other people, apart from its needed for entertainment industry only. The purpose of this research is to find the effect of digital painting art as a visual brand of businesses from many industries to deliver the ideas, impression, and experiences from the brand to target market. Qualitative research methods are done by interviewing expert users and partners or extreme users, supported by doing observation to competitors and literation studies. The result of this research is digital painting can be implemented in any form, from merchandise as a brand’s promotion tools, to visual form like mascot, second element, or Intellectual Property.

Abstract

With the development of startup businesses, the use of social media such as Instagram became something essential for startups to have as a promotional media and this is an opportunity for social media management services to grow as well. Social media services open an opportunity to use a variety of designs to maximize the view of social media such as infographics. Infographics are visualization of data or information into a visual graphic to make it easier for readers to absorb information. The process of making an infographic starts with research, accumulation and processing of linear or written data to simplified visual data. The goal of this research is to know if infographics can be used as one of the design forms of social media marketing services for startup businesses. The method that will be used for this research is primary data. The results of the research show that most of the respondents are already aware of social media management services and they think that the use of infographics as the base design of social media management is interesting.

Abstract

The increasingly massive use of social media in Indonesia is both an opportunity and a challenge for start-up business owners when they are going to market their business. This research aims to determine how attracted start-up business owners in Indonesia towards the application of motion graphic as promotional content used in social media. Research methods that conducted in this research are qualitative research method by interviewing expert and extreme users, also doing literature study, and as well as quantitative research method by distributing online questionnaire to social media users and start-up business owners. From the results gathered, it can be concluded that motion graphic is an attractive content, so start-up business owners are interested and start thinking to use motion graphic as promotional content for their social medias.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of digital retouching in advertising in improving the brand image and brand attitude of a brand. To find out, research will be conducted based on primary data in the form of interviews with expert users and extreme users. Secondary data retrieval is also held by collecting data from various books, journals and websites that contain advertising theory, the influence of brand image and brand attitude on brands, consumer behavior, marketing communication through visual design and psychology of advertising. The results of the study concluded that digital retouching can increase the brand image and brand attitude of a brand.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the use of kids corner in Surabaya and Sidoarjo in an activity that can increase children's social interaction. The research method used in this research are qualitative and quantitative research methods. Qualitative data research methods by interviewing informants and users of kids corner services (expert users and extreme users) as well as literature studies from books and scientific journals about the use of gadgets on early childhood, the effect of gadgets on children's social interactions and the use of kids services corner in an activity. Quantitative research methods by distributing online and offline questionnaires to 52 potential customers in Surabaya and Sidoarjo. The conclusion of this research is the need for the use of kids corner in an activity to increase children's social interaction and minimize the use of gadgets to children.

Abstract

Destruction to nature due to consumption and behavior of human life have occurred everywhere. There are still many people who do not really realize that humans’ destructive actions, greed and lifestyles greatly affect the surrounding ecosystem and environment. One of the common examples is the use of plastic waste that still tends to be large, thus threatening the lives of living things such as sea turtles and other sea creatures (for eating plastics accidentally). Therefore, to increase public awareness of human impacts on the environment, web comics are designed to educate readers about the issues raised in this study. The media webtoon was chosen as the media for educationg people about human impacts on ecosystems and the environment, as webtoon can be accessed by anyone online. This research was conducted with the aim of increasing public awareness of the impact of humans on other living things, ecosystems and the surrounding environment. It is hoped that with the design of this educational webtoon, the public can be more aware of the problem of human impacts on ecosystems and the environment, and encourage people to take actions to live more environmentally friendly.

Abstract

This study aims to design customized children picture books that has personal value and can be gifted to children. The research method used is a mixed method of quantitative and qualitative. Primary data collection is done by observing competitors, interviewing and distributing online questionnaires to target markets, while secondary data collection uses literature studies. From this research, it is known that story books that are of interest to the market is one which contain educational content and has simple but interesting visual. Recommendations that can be given are to build brands and introduce products to wider market, as well as co-creation with parents and children who are the target market and users.

Abstract

Indonesia's rapid economic growth makes the emergence of many startup businesses. The development of the business makes competition in the business more tight. Many brands are competing to create a unique and attractive promotion so that their businesses can survive in the industry. The digital era has made it even easier for brands to promote their goods so that they reach the eyes and ears of audiences. This study aims to determine the importance of using video media as a primary promotional tool for the Surabaya brand. The research method used was a qualitative method with interviews and questionnaires. The results showed that Instagram video media greatly boosted the company's overall income.

Abstract

Market research on the concept of the Pepakatto handicraft business was conducted with the aim of evaluating and developing the Pepakatto business, namely selling interior products in the form of lamps made from paper layering techniques. The purpose of making this business idea is due to the problem of not being able to sleep with the lights off experienced by not only young children, but also teenagers and adults. The research method used is using qualitative methods, namely interviews, and quantitative methods, namely the distribution of questionnaires. The conclusion of the research results obtained are teenagers and young people or young adults who have just had a family.
