Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of self-concept and self-regulation on academic stress in students of Universitas Islam 45 Bekasi. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was used to test the relationship between these variables. Data were collected through a Likert-based questionnaire on 137 active students aged 18–23 years. The results of the analysis showed that self-concept had a significant negative relationship with academic stress, while self-regulation did not show a significant effect. These findings indicate the importance of self-concept in managing students' academic stress. Although self-regulation was not statistically significant, there was still a relevant negative relationship. The implication of this study is the need for self-concept development programs to support student well-being, while improving self-regulation can be considered in other contexts. This study provides new insights into managing academic stress and supports more effective interventions in higher education settings.

The objectives of the study are to analyze the complex dynamics of work stress, identify determinants, and explore effective intervention mechanisms to mitigate its negative impacts. The research methodology uses a qualitative approach with meta-synthesis techniques, conducting an in-depth analysis of ten leading scientific journals published between 2020-2024. The results of the study revealed that work stress is a multidimensional construct influenced by individual, organizational, and contextual factors, with key variables including workload, social support, organizational climate, and demographic characteristics. The findings indicate that work stress significantly affects psychological well-being and productivity, with different impacts based on gender, type of work, and organizational context. This study concludes the need for an integrative and proactive approach to work stress management, which does not only focus on individual interventions, but also transforms organizational structures and cultures.

Abstract

This study explores women’s experiences of discrimination in the workplace due to beauty privilege. This study uses a qualitative approach with in-depth interview techniques, participant observation, and questionnaires to uncover forms of discrimination. This phenomenon creates injustice and has negative impacts on individuals who do not meet beauty standards, such as feelings of inferiority, alienation, and limited career opportunities. This study recommends the importance of awareness and more inclusive policies to reduce appearance-based discrimination in the workplace. The findings show that beauty privilege often provides advantages for individuals who are considered physically attractive, but also creates psychological stress for those who do not meet certain beauty standards.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of stress on emotional eating among whitewater rafting athletes in East Java. Stress, caused by the demands of competition and intensive training, often triggers emotional eating behavior, which involves overeating as a response to negative emotions. This research employs a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design, involving 68 athletes from the East Java Whitewater Rafting Federation. Data were collected through an online questionnaire using a stress scale and an emotional eating scale. The results show that the majority of athletes (70.6%) experience high levels of stress, and most (39.7%) exhibit moderate levels of emotional eating. Regression analysis indicates a significant positive relationship between stress and emotional eating (p < 0.05), with stress contributing 9.2% to the variation in emotional eating. This study highlights the importance of stress management to prevent emotional eating, which can affect athletes' health and performance. Recommended stress management strategies include emotional regulation training and providing psychological counseling services.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of social support and self esteem on work motivation in working students. The research method used in this study is quantitative with a correlational design used to examine the relationship between social support variables and self esteem to work motivation with the sampling technique used, namely purposive sampling. Data collection in this study is using a social support scale, self esteem scale, and work motivation scale on 134 students who have worked with a length of work <1 year - >4 years. The analysis techniques used in this study are spearmen correlation and multiple linear regression. The results of the analysis that has been done show that there is a significant positive relationship in social support to work motivation. These results indicate that students who are already working and have high social support will increase their work motivation. However, self esteem shows that there is no significant influence on work motivation. In this study, the effective contribution value given from each variable is r2 = 0, 658 or 65.8%.
