Abstract

The main happiness of Lecturers is when they feel healthy in body and soul, one of which is by getting attention from their closest family. The culture of collectivism in Indonesian people, coupled with the ability of lecturers to do mindfulness in every activity is very helpful in creating personal happiness. The lives of lecturers often experience problems with their workplace and also their families, therefore the importance of a support system from the family so that lecturers are able to carry out their daily activities at work happily. The purpose of this study is to empirically test the happiness of Lecturers as reviewed from the family climate through the role of mindfulness as a mediator variable. The method used is quantitative, using 250 Lecturer respondents in the city of Java. Using purposive sampling techniques and data analysis methods using multiple linear regression with the Hayes program. The results showed that family climate had an influence of R = .539 sig.0.01 on lecturer happiness through mindfulness. Mindfulness is able to be a partial mediator of family climate on lecturer happiness. This study has implications so that it can be used as a reference for the application of Lecturer happiness through the family's internal support system.

Abstract

Middle adulthood ranges from 40 years to 60 years. The needs of heart disease sufferers in middle adulthood are needs that prioritize physical health such as exercise, diet and regular medication. This research aims to find out how important the needs of individuals suffering from heart disease are. The research method used is a qualitative method with a literature and interview approach. Data was obtained from analysis of related literature as well as in-depth interviews with informants who suffered from heart disease at the age of 58 years. The research results show that the needs of middle adults who suffer from heart disease prioritize health restoration recommended by doctors by means of bypass surgery. This is shown by the improvement in physical health experienced by the informants, by maintaining their diet, taking prescribed medication, exercising regularly, and monitoring their health at recommended clinics. This result has been felt by the informant that changes in his physical condition are currently starting to improve and he is still in the recovery stage.

Abstract

This research examines the effectiveness of mentoring through writing letters to oneself in changing the mindset and premarital sexual behavior of adolescents. The subjects consisted of 60 students from two public universities in Bukittinggi. The research employed a quantitative method, specifically an experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design. Adolescents wrote letters containing plans and commitments related to healthy sexual behavior. Data were collected through pretest and posttest questionnaires using a premarital sexual behavior scale. Paired Samples T-Test analysis results showed a significant difference between the mindset and premarital sexual behavior scores before and after the intervention (t = 14.061, df = 28, p < .001). These findings indicate that mentoring through writing letters to oneself is effective in changing the mindset and premarital sexual behavior of adolescents.

Abstract

The phenomenon of sleep difficulties is currently a major problem in adolescents. Several epidemiological studies have investigated the relationship between theoccurrence of sleep disturbances and anxiety disorders in the general population. This research was conducted with the aim of finding a significant positive relationship between sleep difficulties and anxiety disorders. The research method uses quantitative research with data analysis techniques using Pearson's Correlation and linearity assumption tests. The population in this study were teenagers in the Bukittinggi area with a total sample of 106 teenagers. The results of the linearity test showed a significant value of p > 0.05 and the resulting Pearson's r value was 0.532. The results of the analyses show that there is a significant positive relationship between anxiety disorders and difficulty sleeping, so that the hypothesis in this study can be stated as accepted.

Abstract

This research aims to see whether group guidance using problem solving techniques can improve students' learning skills at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 3 Medan. This research uses quantitative methods with a quasi-experimental approach, non-equivalent control group design. In this design, both groups (experimental and control) underwent an initial test (pre-test) and a final test (post-test), but only the experimental group was given treatment, while the control group was not given treatment. The research population consisted of students in class X-1 (30 students) and X-2 (30 students). The sample was selected using a purposive sampling method, with a total of 16 students who had low learning skills, namely 8 students from the experimental group (class X-2) and 8 students from the control group (class X-1). The research instrument is a learning skills questionnaire with 26 statements whose validity and reliability have been tested. Data were analyzed using the T-test. The T-test results showed that the experimental group experienced an increase in learning skills, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. This means that problem solving techniques are effective in improving students' learning skills. In contrast, the control group did not show a significant increase in learning skills, with a significance value of 0.022 > 0.05. The results of the independent sample t-test show a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05, which means there are differences in students' learning skills before and after being given services in the experimental group.

This study reviews the concept of intelligence from various perspectives, including definitions, classifications of intelligence, and the factors that influence it. This study also discusses multiple intelligences such as intellectual quotient (IQ), emotional quotient (EQ), and spiritual quotient (SQ), as well as various other forms of intelligence based on Howard Gardner's theory. Abstract

Marriage is a sacred vocation that signifies a profound commitment between husband and wife, rooted in love and faith. Many couples, however, lack the emotional and mental readiness to navigate marital challenges. This study examines the impact of Pre-Marriage Catechesis (KPP) on the emotional and mental readiness of Catholic couples in the Holy Spirit Cathedral Parish, Denpasar. Using a pretest- posttest experimental design, data were collected from 89 participants (44 males, 45 females) in November 2024, utilizing the Sukoon Marriage Readiness Scale. Before KPP, participants were categorized as "Highly Ready for Marriage" (20%, 18 individuals), "Moderately Ready" (50%, 45 individuals), and "Not Ready" (30%, 26 individuals). After completing KPP, the "Highly Ready" group increased to 65% (58 individuals), "Moderately Ready" remained at 30% (27 individuals), and "Not Ready" decreased to 5% (4 individuals). Pearson correlation analysis showed a strong relationship between KPP and readiness (r = 0.842, p = 0.000). Gender had no significant effect (p > 0.05), indicating KPP's universal applicability. The study concludes that KPP significantly enhances couples' readiness for marriage, contributing 98.7% to their emotional and mental preparedness. Recommendations include adapting KPP modules to address modern couples’ needs and increase program efficacy.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the quality of sleep in cigarette addicts, especially among young adults aged 18-24 years. Smoking, which has become a habit for many individuals, can cause dependence, one of which is caused by nicotine which disrupts sleep quality. Based on WHO data (2015), Indonesia is one of the countries with the largest number of smokers in the world, which has an impact on physical and psychological health, including sleep disorders. This research used a quantitative approach with descriptive methods and survey techniques by distributing The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire to 12 respondents. The results showed that 100% of respondents experienced poor sleep quality, with the majority experiencing sleep disturbances less than once a week and daytime activity dysfunction more than three times a week. This research confirms the relationship between cigarette addiction and poor sleep quality in young adults. Based on these findings, it is recommended that smokers avoid nicotine before bed, establish a regular sleep schedule, and create a relaxing sleep routine to improve the quality of their sleep.
