Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by raising public awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle. The program was conducted in Pari Island, Kepulauan Seribu, involving 30 participants from the local community. The activities included health screenings such as blood glucose measurement, blood pressure monitoring, and uric acid level testing, as well as health education on adopting a healthy lifestyle, including balanced nutrition and regular physical exercise. Through this initiative, participants gained a better understanding of how to maintain their health and prevent non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and uric acid disorders. The health screening results indicated that some participants had elevated blood glucose and blood pressure levels, highlighting the need for further intervention through education and lifestyle modifications. Increased awareness was evident from participants' enthusiasm during the health education sessions and interactive discussions with the facilitators. Overall, this program successfully enhanced community knowledge and awareness regarding the importance of a healthy lifestyle while also providing a concrete initial step through early health screenings. It is hoped that this program serves as a starting point for fostering a healthier and more prosperous community in Pari Island, supporting the achievement of SDG No. 3.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the competence of parents and managers of children with special needs resources in providing education effectively and sustainably. This training was motivated by the still low understanding of institutional managers regarding school resource management, especially in the aspects of planning, utilization, and evaluation of human resources and infrastructure. The activity was carried out on Sunday, October 19, 2025, through the stages of opening, delivery of materials, interactive discussion sessions, filling out questionnaires, and closing. The implementation method involved a participatory approach so that participants could play an active role in the learning process. The implementation of the community service took place in a special room of the Lazama institution. It was attended by approximately 20 participants consisting of special needs school management and parents. The results of the activity showed that participants experienced significant improvements in their understanding of concepts and practical skills in school resource management. Ninety-two percent of participants stated that the training material was highly relevant, 88% stated that their understanding improved, and 85% stated that they were ready to implement the strategies they had learned. The training also encouraged the formation of an internal resource management team at the KAZAMA Institute as a follow-up to the program. This activity not only increased the individual capacity of participants but also strengthened sustainable institutional governance. This community service activity successfully raised new awareness about the importance of collaborative, adaptive, and sustainability-oriented educational resource management, particularly in schools serving children with special needs.

Abstract

Obstructive ileus is a digestive system disorder characterized by a blockage caused by abnormalities in the intestinal lumen, intestinal wall, or foreign objects outside the intestine. Blockages in this intestinal area can cause accumulation or buildup at the site of the blockage. Patients with obstructive ileus generally experience complaints such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension, bowel disorders, flatus (gas) disorders, and the most common symptom is abdominal pain. The goal of this community service is to enable families to understand the definition, causes, and management of obstructive ileus and to practice applying warm compresses to minimize pain in the affected area. The methods used in this activity were counseling, interactive discussions, and practice of applying warm compresses. The media used were leaflets and flipcharts. The results obtained from this health education activity can improve patient (family) knowledge and practice in applying warm compresses to relieve pain. It is hoped that after this activity, patients (families) can apply knowledge of how to manage pain independently as an initial preventative measure to reduce pain
