ANDIL Mulawarman Journal of Community Engagement (ANDIL Mulawarman J Comm Engag) merupakan jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) yang diterbitkan oleh Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LP2M) Universitas Mulawarman. Jurnal ini berisi tentang penerapan dan hilirisasi hasil-hasil penelitian melalui kegiatan PkM dalam berbagai bidang multidisiplin seperti pendidikan, teknosains dan komputer, agrokompleks, kesehatan, dan sosbudkum (sosial, budaya, dan hukum), serta Kewirausahaan dan ekonomi. Selain itu, ANDIL Mulawarman J Comm Engag memuat berbagai kegiatan yang dilakukan dalam menangani dan mengatasi berbagai permasalahan yang terjadi di Masyarakat dengan menerapkan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang kemudian dapat bermanfaat bagi peningkatan kesejahteraan Masyarakat. Artikel-artikel dalam jurnal ini diterbitkan empat kali dalam setahun yaitu periode terbit Januari-Maret, April-Juni, Juli-September, dan Oktober-Desember.

Abstract

ABSTRAK: The role of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is very significant to the Indonesian economy, especially its contribution to GDP and also employment. Warung Makan UKM Berkah is one of the MSMEs in Samarinda City that also contributes to this. However, based on the results of field observations and interviews with business actors, there are several problems that hamper the potential of the business, including: Poor business branding, no menu list, promotional strategies that only rely on word of mouth (WOM), unattractive banner displays, and lack of information services related to catering and payment facilities. From these observations, PKM students of the Faculty of Economics & Business, Mulawarman University together with the owner of Warung Makan UKM Berkah formulated a work program that focuses on service and marketing innovation, through making banners, menu lists, business logos, catering box stamps, social media (Instagram), and business funding platforms for the business.

Abstract

The regional and national governments want fish farming to boost the community's income. A tarpaulin tank catfish farming demonstration plot was provided by the Indonesian Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries to Pokdakan RSB Fisheries Family. Freshly stocked catfish seeds died 100% during growing. Mulawarman University trains and assists Pokdakan in using probiotic herbs to promote catfish seed resilience and growth. On March 23–24, 2024, the Pokdakan Cultivation Pond will host this event. The program begins with an introduction to herbal medicine and fish probiotics, then covers how to create them, how to use them in catfish farming, and survival and growth monitoring. The exercise involved 10 Pokdakan members. This course helps Pokdakan freshwater fish farmers understand the varieties and benefits of herbs and probiotics, their dosage and how to soak and combine them with feed, and how to monitor and diagnose early sickness in catfish fry. Following 2.5 months of maintenance, this activity reduces seed mortality from 100% to 20%, yielding an average harvest weight of 100 g/head.

Abstract

Food safety is an effort to prevent the possibility of products being contaminated by biological, chemical, and physical contaminants. Food contamination is undesirable for both producers and consumers. This contamination occurs in micro small enterprises such as canteens. This activity focuses on Kantin Pertama at the Faculty of Medicine, Mulawarman University. This Community Service Program aims to provide education about hygiene and sanitation to the MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) at Kantin Pertama. This will ensure better quality and safety of the food and beverages produced in Kantin Pertama. The Community Service Program is carried out from December 19, 2023, to January 31, 2024, using three methods: first, socialization and discussion; second, observation and interviews; and third, problem-solving with assistance. Observation and interviews are conducted to identify issues occurring in the First Canteen. Then, problem-solving is carried out through assistance. The project was progressing smoothly. After completing the Class A1 food service questionnaire, we obtained a total score 62. However, after implementing the solution, the total score increased to 66, meeting the score range of 65-70.

Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are businesses that are relatively stable and strong in today's high competition. Therefore, efforts to develop MSMEs are very important for the Indonesian economy. Unfortunately, this hope seems to encounter obstacles in the field, especially in terms of operational activities when determining the selling price of the products produced. This activity aims to support the strengthening of MSMEs by providing education about determining product selling prices to business actors. This activity was carried out using lecture methods and intense mentoring for MSME actors. This activity discovered the fact that selling prices were determined based on estimates or market prices alone without considering other important cost components in production. Through this activity, it is hoped that the obstacles faced by MSMEs in determining the right selling price can be resolved so that MSMEs can successfully face business competition and at the same time improve the community's economy.

Abstract

Engslih Learning at the Pringgondani market is an important initiative because the Pasar Tumpah Pringgondani is a traditional market with unique characteristics that set it apart from other markets. The uniqueness of the Pringgondani traditional market has become a new icon that blends the concept of traditional food, customs and traditions, as well as a distinctive traditional atmosphere. This provides a unique and interesting tourist experience, which has led to an increase in visitors, not only from within the country but also internationally. Therefore, adequate communication skills, particularly in English, are crucial for business owners and workers at the Pringgondani pop-up market. The Quick English Learning Course (QELC) training provided to business owners and workers at the Pasar Tumpah Pringgondani by the teaching team was highly appreciated by the management and was successful, as evidenced by the improvement in English proficiency among the training participants.

Abstract

Sampah organik mendominasi komposisi sampah di Kota Bontang selama lima tahun terakhir. Untuk menuju lingkungan sehat, dapat dilakukan berbagai upaya di tingkat rumah tangga. Salah satu bentuk upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengelola sampah di tingkat rumah tangga, ialah mengolah sampah tersebut menjadi suatu produk yang memiliki nilai guna. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah memberikan pemahaman pentingnya pengelolaan sampah di lingkungan sekitar dan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan para siswa SMP dan SMA di Kelurahan Api-Api dalam pemanfaatan sampah organik menjadi produk eco-enzyme. Peningkatkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan para siswa, diharapkan pengelolaan sampah organik dapat mengurangi beban pengelolaan sampah di tempat pembuangan sampah (TPS) dan/atau tempat pembuangan akhir (TPA). Kegiatan pelatihan ini dilaksanakan di dua tempat yaitu di SMP dan SMA YKP Monamas dan di SMK YP Rigomasi Bontang utara, Kota Bontang, Kalimantan Timur dengan 92 peserta. Berdasarkan hasil analisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon diperoleh bahwa terdapat perbedaan pengetahuan sebelum dan sesudah diadakan penyuluhan dan pelatihan pemanfaatan limbah organik dalam pembuatan eco-enzyme menuju lingkungan sehat di Kelurahan Api-api.

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency has become a serious problem that requires special attention and handling, including in the environment of SMP Negeri 1 Dempar. Thus, education is determined as an effort to provide students with a deep understanding of various aspects of juvenile delinquency, its impact on themselves and the environment, and effective strategies to avoid delinquent behavior. This education is carried out using the lecture method and reaction evaluation and cognitive evaluation are carried out. The results of this activity indicate significant success in increasing understanding of adolescence, avoiding juvenile delinquency, and encouraging the development of positive life skills. This is evidenced by the results of the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test which produces a value of p = 0.000 (p <0.05), meaning that there is a difference in student knowledge between before and after being given intervention in the form of juvenile delinquency education.
