Abstract

The postpartum period is a critical period for both the mother and the baby. The government has issued programs and technical policies to prevent post partum bleeding, namely at least 4 visits during the puerperium, postpartum visits, postpartum gymnastics, increased maternal nutrition, early initiation of breastfeeding (IMD) and early mobilization. Early mobilization is very important for mothers during the puerperium to accelerate the process of uterine involution. The purpose of writing is to apply early mobilization in midwifery care to accelerate the decrease in the height of the uterine fundus. The type of research used in the preparation of practice reports is descriptive research using the case study method. Data collection methods are participatory observation, interviews, measurements, documentation. The results of the application of midwifery care to Ny. A in the form of early mobilization for postpartum mothers shows that early mobilization helps accelerate the decrease in the height of the uterine fundus. Early mobilization by post partum mothers in the first 6 hours after delivery can help speed up the return of the uterus to its original shape. This is made possible because of the movements made by the mother which help to improve blood circulation and expel lochia so that it helps speed up the process of uterine involution.

At 38 weeks 5 days of gestation, Mrs. E gave birth at the Sekar Biru health center with a normal delivery. Mrs. E’s baby was born spontaneously and immediately cried with male quality and birth weight 3100 grams and birth length 50 cm. when the baby was a week old, Mrs. E turned out to have given formula milk as an alternative to breast milk. Based on research that has been done, it can be concluded that there are some gaps between theory and practice . Therefore, students are expected to continue to apply quality midwifery care management in order to become competent and qualified health workers.

Abstract

Perineal wound healing that is not good can increase the morbidity rate in postpartum mothers. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of breastfeeding and Povidone Iodine on perineal wound healing in postpartum mothers who experienced second degree perineal rupture. This research was conducted in January – April 2022, a sample of 20 people who were taken using purposive sampling technique. The study used a quasi-experimental method. Data analysis used Mann Whitney test with 5%. The results showed that the average REEDA scale of perineal wound healing in the breastfeeding intervention group was 0.50, and the average perineal wound healing in the Povidone Iodine intervention group was 2.80. The results of the Mann Whitney test showed a p-value (Asymp. Sig 2 tailed) of 0.004, so the hypothesis was accepted, meaning that there was an effect of the use of breast milk and Povidone Iodine on perineal wound healing in postpartum mothers in the working area of the Tanjung Balai Public Health Center.

Abstract

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2017 found an infant mortality rate of 560,000 from live births caused by umbilical cord infection. The incidence of newborn infection in Indonesia ranges from 24% to 34%, and this is the cause of neonatal death which ranges from 24% to 34%, and this is the second cause of death after neonatal asphyxia which ranges from 49% to 60%. One way to treat the umbilical cord is the topical breastfeeding method. Breast milk has many immunological and anti-infective agents. The purpose of writing is to provide midwifery care for newborns by applying the topical breastfeeding method as a prevention of infection and to accelerate the release of the umbilical cord in Baby Ny. Y AT the Tanjung Balai Karimun Health Center. The design of care that has been given by the author is using a descriptive observational design with a case study approach. Data collection methods are participatory observation, interviews, measurements, documentation. The research instrument is the format of midwifery care. The results of the action showed that the treatment of the umbilical cord using topical breast milk made the umbilical cord dry and detached faster. It is hoped that the role of midwives in assisting mothers in caring for the umbilical cord in newborns is as a facilitator and counselor

Abstract

One of the factors that influence insomnia is physical fitness. The worse the physical fitness, the higher the risk of developing insomnia. Insomnia can have unwanted effects, so it needs good treatment. In this study aims to determine the relationship between physical fitness and insomnia in male final year students. This research method was analytic observational with a cross-sectional approach conducted at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Batam in 2016. The sampling technique was total sampling with a population of 49 people in 2016 which was determined by inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis uses the Spearman Correlation test. Based on the results of this study, it was shown that of the 49 respondents, the majority had good physical fitness with 14 respondents (28.6%), those who experienced insomnia were in the non-insomnia category with 12 respondents (24.5%), mild insomnia with 11 respondents ( 22.4%), moderate insomnia with a total of 18 respondents (36.7), severe insomnia with a total of 8 respondents (16.3%). Pearson's correlation test obtained a significance of p <0.001 with a correlation coefficient (r) of (+) 0.801 . This figure shows that the value of r is at the significant level (r) = (+) 0.801 to + 1, meaning that there is a strong positive relationship between the two variables. This study concluded that there was a relationship between physical fitness and insomnia in male students at the end of the academic year at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Batam

Abstract

Struma ovarii (SO) are rare and accur in 2-3% of mature ovarian teratomas, most SO cases are benign. Malignant struma ovarii (MSO) is even more rare and occurs in 0,5- 5% of all cases, with the most common histologies identified are papillary and follicular carcinoma, most commonly affect patients in their 4th to 6th decade of life. Due to the rarity of malignant transformation, data about its management are lacking. A 49-years-old woman P2A0 with abdominal pain and pelvic mass, admitted for a hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. The left ovary was measured 13x11x5 cm, cystic and partly solid, filled with gelatinous fluid, composed of thyroid follicles with the appearance of "ground glass", "nuclear inclusion" and "nuclear groove", forming a papillifer structure. The diagnostic of MSO is based on histological features include cellular atypia, increased hyperplasia, nuclear pleomorphism, mitotic activity, vascular and/or capsular invasion. To be classified as a MSO, teratoma containing 50% or more thyroid tissue. MSO necessitates surgical staging for ovarian cancer with pelvic washings, total abdominal hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo- oophorectomy, lymph node sampling, total thyroidectomy, and radioactive I-131 ablation. Based on the clinical examination and histopatological examination the patient was diagnosed with MSO (ICD O: 9090/3).
